Chapter 377

Chapter 377: Unwelcomed Arrival.

‘This better do the trick...’

Concentrating his entire focus on this mist bubble, he started moving it towards the building.

If someone had extremely sharp eyes and looked at the black mist carefully, they would notice how wobbly it was.

Even though it was The Purity, which seemed nothing more than an extension of his own body in a strange way, controlling just a tiny part while it was so thinned and spread out was difficult.

Like a liquid filled in a container, it tried to escape in all directions.

It continuously wobbled around, though it was only so clear in Ozul’s eyes. To anyone else, they couldn’t even feel as The Purity enveloped them.

From wherever the mist passed, he felt as if he was physically there. It felt like his own hands and feet were there in that space, having the ability to do whatever he pleased.

.....

But this feeling of control also came with a heavy toll on his body.

‘I can’t maintain the mist for long.’ Ozul gritted his teeth,’ I have to finish this as soon as possible.’

The hidden veil of mist passed through everything and entered the building without much difficulty. The people standing guard outside didn’t even bat an eye as The Purity surrounded them.

At that point, their lives were solely in his hands. If he wanted to, he could kill them with a single thought.

However, that was not his objective. He was here to kill the captives.

As the mist entered the building, Ozul became cautious. He was able to receive a better perspective of the situation inside the warehouse, but he had to be careful since the peak Nascent Soul Realm cultivator was there.

‘It all depends on whether he can detect the presence of The Purity,’ Ozul thought to himself before carefully guiding the mist towards a bleak corner.

The captives were held around the middle of the building, and the peak Nascent Soul Realm cultivator seemed to be conversing with the miserable group of people.

‘The more the mist gets closer to the center, the more I risk being discovered.’

Ozul had to contemplate here. From the distance of his mist, before he could form solid projectiles to shoot toward the group, ‘that’ person had the capability to save at least a few of them.

Shaking his head in useless worries, ‘I will have to get closer.’

His plan was simple and precise.

He would get the mist inch towards the captives steadily. The moment that the peak Nascent Soul cultivator figured something was wrong, he would launch a full-on assault.

Ozul breathed heavily as he slowly moved the mist closer.

The mist was nearing a 30 meters distance from him and this didn’t make it any better.

Just when the mist was a few feet away from the peak Nascent Soul cultivator, Ozul could finally exhale a mouthful of air that he didn’t know he was holding.

This was a wolf den and he was putting his hand right into the alpha’s mouth.

Until now, no one caught wind of the mist that had almost surrounded all of them. Even the peak Nascent Soul expert had his attention occupied by the captives instead.

Reading himself, he willed the mist to condense, “Now’s my chance-!!”

The sharp needles shot toward all the captives, but there was now a pressing concern...

Having felt his body hair stand in a jolt, Ozul jumped to his right, narrowly dodging a silver dagger that was thrust into the bulky tree.

As if lightning had struck to its heart, the tree was split into two and a thundering noise reverberated throughout the forest.

Ozul stared at the place where once he stood in amazement. If he was hit by that dagger directly, his body would have exploded from the sheer destructive force put into it!

Could even The Purity protect him from such an attack? Ozul wondered in his heart as he felt the lingering shock on his body.

Without giving him a chance to recover, another dagger came flying at him from the opposite side.

It was the same dagger!

Ozul was prepared this time.

He had already summoned The Purity which he used as a shield and hurled to the side again.

The silver dagger and The Purity collided and a thundering boom, fiercer than before shook everything in the surroundings.

Stupefied, Ozul’s eyebrows squeezed.

The thick wall of The Purity was pierced right through!

This was the first time it had happened.

The dagger, having lost the force behind it, hit the ground instead.

“Huh??” a voice came from above as Ozul raised his head to meet the owner of the voice.

A tall middle-aged man, with his hands behind his back, looked down at him with contempt. His facial expressions were barely visible due to the Star which hung right behind him in the sky.

“For a coward who’s hiding his Spiritual Essence, you sure have tricks,” the deep voice reached down to Ozul as he heard the sound of footsteps from all around him.

Smiling bitterly, Ozul knew he was surrounded. Raising his head to meet the eyes of this newly arrived person, he spoke, “For someone at the Origin Realm, you sure can’t hit your target.”

Feeling the rising aura from the man floating in the air, Ozul had to admit that even he didn’t know he had such a talent for ticking off people.

Internally, however, it was a different situation altogether. There was no chance that he could leave out of here unscathed. Going against someone this powerful was never in his plans.

His luck couldn’t have been worse for the timing of this man’s arrival was just before he was about to leave.

The only thing comforting him right now was that he only needed to escape.

Those people held captive inside the warehouse were already all dead.

“You sure don’t have me in your eyes.”

The Origin Realm cultivator grumbled as he noticed the teenager kid looking around him, surveying his surroundings.

It was simply disrespectful to care about those small fries when he, a cultivator in the Origin Realm was right before him!

“Excuse me, I was confirming if my business was done,” Ozul nodded his head at him, acting like a gentleman in a situation where his life was on the line

The middle-aged man looked towards the warehouse and his facial expression shifted from blank to surprised and then his whole face darkened.

But then he turned his face back to Ozul, “It seems that we will just have to make do with you.”

Before Ozul could give a reply, another man that he recognized to be the peak Nascent Soul cultivator arrived between him and the middle-aged man. He cupped his hands towards him.

“I... am willing to take full responsibility for this, senior brother Chen.” His whole body was trembling before the mentioned ‘senior Chen’.

“Junior brother, whether you are willing or not willing doesn’t matter. The punishment hall will judge your carelessness by itself,” Chen, the Origin Realm cultivator, responded apathetically.

With slumped shoulders, the man in question turned towards Ozul with hatred in his eyes.

“Who sent you?” Despite his hatred, the man knew not to act out in front of his senior brother Chen.

“If I tell you, would you let me go?” Ozul asked while slightly tilting his head to the side, acting as if it was a genuine question.

The moment he finished his question, however, something flashed before him, it was like a mountain had collided with his stomach as he was sent flying backward!

Rolling on the ground like a lifeless doll, his momentum only broke due to tree bark.

*Cough!*

He coughed out multiple times as he struggled to maintain his consciousness.

Staggering and stumbling, he stood up to gain his balance.

‘This would have been a bloody mess if I had any blood...’

Stinging pain coursed through his entire body as he thanked his timely reaction. Right before the fist had collided with his stomach, he was able to absorb most of the force using The Purity.

In any other case, he wouldn’t have been hurt like this. Alas, he was facing someone in the Origin Realm.

“I didn’t miss this time, did I?” The man mocked as he walked out from the debris and dust which had yet to settle.

What came as a surprise to him was the fact that the kid he had sent flying with a single hit was not only standing straight on his two feet but there weren’t any visible signs of injuries on his body!

Eyes widening with surprise, Chen understood that he wasn’t dealing with just a random nobody sent on a suicide mission.

“I have no regrets about those pests dying like that. It seems like you would prove more useful.” Arrogance seeped out from his body language as he muttered those words.

Staring at Ozul with a confident smile, he asked, “Do you think such pesky tricks would work on me?” In his left hand, he had caught a tiny black needle between his thumb and the middle finger.

Raising his eyebrows in utter disbelief, for the very first time, Ozul seemed to show genuine disbelief.

Chen chuckled with delight after seeing such emotions. He had been extremely irritated by the prior disdain for his presence.

More so than the fact that this kid’s cowardly assault had murdered the junior brother he had just chastised!

But how could such a cunning effort succeed against him?

“I... have something to say...”
