CH 11

“Hello, are you a new artist? Can you sign me an autograph?”  Liang Antong’s face flushed with excitement as she pulled her friend Qiu Yi towards Si Huaixi. She didn’t even dare to blink her eyes, fearing that her idol might suddenly disappear.

Ah, how could she not have known about this handsome and charming person before?

The mid-term exam had ruined her chance!

Si Huaixi glanced at the young fan girl, her eyes full of anticipation, a unique sense of peace and vitality that was characteristic of the peaceful era, where survival was not a daily struggle like in an apocalyptic world. They could dress up and go see their favorite celebrities.

Although he had been an orphan since childhood, he had always been mature beyond his age. In the doomsday era where the population was scarce, the base encouraged early marriage and early pregnancy. He had always dreamed of having a complete family, but he never hoped to find a partner in the apocalypse. He did not want his child to become an orphan like him if he died unexpectedly.

Now he had a sense of stability in this unfamiliar world. If the world remained peaceful like this, he might consider starting a family.

Si Huaixi suddenly thought of Brother Pei and smiled gently.

After signing his name on the notebook handed to him by Liang Antong, Si Huaixi, who rarely showed his emotions, smiled slightly and said, “Thank you for your support.”

The close-up encounter with such a beautiful face almost made Liang Antong scream. She grabbed Qiu Yi’s hand so hard that Qiu Yi winced in pain. Qiu Yi had to hit Liang Antong’s head to snap her out of the trance. Finally, with the signature in her hand, Liang Antong left happily.

Halfway through, Qiu Yi suddenly asked, “Didn’t you want to find that artist named Bai Huaiyu? Are you going to look for him now?”

Liang Antong blushed and said shyly, “I don’t think it’s a good idea. It feels awkward to look for my ex after getting the signature from the new guy.”

Qiu Yi rolled her eyes again. She didn’t understand why people were so obsessed with chasing after celebrities. Eating delicious food was much better than chasing after any big star!

However, that young celebrity did look quite handsome. The two of them chatted and laughed without realizing that someone had overheard their conversation.

Assistant Xiao Li glanced awkwardly at Bai Huaiyu, whose face suddenly turned gloomy. He spoke cautiously, “Teacher Bai, these young people don’t know any better. You are a big shot in the industry, and everyone knows that no young star can replace you. You don’t have to care about them.”

Bai Huaiyu’s clear eyes curved into a smile, but it held a hint of coldness. “They were looking for Si Huaixi just now, weren’t they?”

Assistant Xiao Li cursed these two unruly young fans in his heart. Since they were already climbing the wall, they shouldn’t be caught by the main character. Now he was in an awkward situation.

Assistant Xiao Li tried to please Bai Huaiyu and said, “Teacher Bai, you are the lead actor favored by the director. How could Si Huaixi, a minor celebrity, be compared to you?”

As for whether he was favored by the director or not, Bai Huaiyu knew best.

When he first saw Si Huaixi’s stunning face on the hot search list, even a random picture of him looked like a character from a movie, with pure, clear, sea-blue eyes like sapphires bestowed by God, and the intoxicating color was so similar to those Bai family members he couldn’t discuss….

Bai Huaiyu’s alarm bells went off in his heart. He could imagine the craziness that would ensue in the entertainment industry. Even if he only relied on his face, he was still capable of reaching the pinnacle of the entertainment industry.

His team bought a hot search for him on the recent popular variety show “Planet Wants” in the hope of gaining more fans, but unexpectedly, this guy stole his limelight.

He remembered the day he secretly hired an online army and specifically instructed his studio to suppress the hot search of Si Huaixi, releasing black materials to discredit him by exposing Si Huaixi as an uneducated, low-class civilian from a garbage planet.

However, he never imagined that, despite all his efforts, he couldn’t surpass Si Huaixi’s hot search. That day, Si Huaixi’s hot search kept climbing, and no matter how much he tried to defame him, it seemed like the whole internet was celebrating Si Huaixi.

At exactly 10 pm that evening, Weibo updated its entries, and Si Huaixi’s trending search soared to the top, becoming the most popular trending search on the entire internet.

Bai Huaiyu trembled as he looked at that trending search, as if he had been transported back to the slums where he had been oppressed and humiliated no matter how hard he tried and had a cold and indifferent Pei Zhaozhou looking down on him, treating him like a struggling little dog, occasionally showing a condescending pity and making him grovel for a bone to survive.

Bai Huaiyu couldn’t bear this humiliation anymore. Now, he was the young master of the Bai family, the most popular Omega aristocrat in social events. His resources, status, and even his future spouse would all be top-notch. He was no longer the illegitimate child who had nothing and was despised and bullied in the slums!

He was Bai Huaiyu!

He had talents that were unmatched by ordinary Omegas!

He would get everything he wanted! Everything!

Since Si Huaixi was blocking my way, he couldn’t blame me for secretly releasing his information, which scared off slightly better entertainment companies from signing Si Huaixi, and instead having him sign with a dirty and well-known pimping company within the industry.

But he never expected that Si Huaixi would still come out on top, and even receive an invitation from a small drama production.

Bai Huaiyu had read the script for the drama production, “This Star Is Named For You”. It had a limited budget and couldn’t afford good actors, but the storyline was decent, and with a little tweaking, there was a chance for it to gain some popularity. But why should he give such an opportunity to Si Huaixi?

Bai Huaiyu initially thought that investing in the film with one million yuan would be enough to secure the lead actor role for himself, but director Lin Yihong of “This Star is Named for You” did not agree. He felt that the male protagonist in the original novel was a handsome and aloof school grass, and Bai Huaiyu’s temperament was a bit too delicate, making him more suitable for the second male lead role.

The second male lead? What a joke! Bai Huaiyu’s face turned cold at the thought of playing a supporting character for Si Huaixi?!

He secretly contacted the investors and producers of the drama, warning them that if they refused to change the lead actor, they would offend the Bai family. The Odyssean Empire was a monarchy, with King Edmund Odysseus holding the greatest power in the empire, including command over the empire’s thirteen legions. Below the monarch were the aristocrats, who held a higher social status than the common people and enjoyed certain political privileges. The head of the Bai family was a count and therefore enjoyed the treatment of nobility.

How could these ordinary investors and producers dare to offend the Bai family? They all advised Director Lin Yihong to compromise. Atlast, Director Lin had no choice but to agree to the Bai family’s demands. Nevertheless, he had developed a grudge against Bai Huaiyu, despite his seemingly good reputation in the industry.

Bai Huaiyu’s journey to securing the lead role was not an easy one. Moreover, Si Huaixi’s original contract was for on-set filming. Since Director Lin Yihong refused to breach the contract. They eventually reached a compromise: Si Huaixi would stay on set, but would have to play the most annoying supporting role, while Bai Huaiyu played the lead role with Si Huaixi as his co-star.

Back in the assistant’s office, upon seeing Bai Huaiyu’s dark and changing complexion, Xiao Li couldn’t help but feel scared. Just earlier, he thought that Bai Huaiyu’s family background, manners, and character were all good. But after overhearing a casual conversation between two young girls, he realized that Bai Huaiyu was jealous of a small celebrity. It seems that he is not easy to get along with in private.

But that was understandable. After all, he was someone who took the lead actor’s role with his own money. It was not that simple.

Assistant Xiao Li looked troubled, hoping that Teacher Bai would not pay attention to someone as insignificant as him. He did not want to witness the real personality of Teacher Bai!

While Assistant Xiao Li was lost in thought, Bai Huaiyu suddenly spoke up, startling him.

With his deep eyes and a smile on his face, Bai Huaiyu looked at Xiao Li and said, “Xiao Li, there’s something I’d like to ask you to do for me.”

Assistant Xiao Li shrank back, and cautiously asked, “What can I do for you, Teacher Bai?”

Bai Huaiyu smiled mysteriously, and the scent of the white roses on his body became stronger, exuding a peculiar fragrance that he had never smelled before. Suddenly, his body felt light and weightless, as if his consciousness was gradually slipping into a frenzied hallucination and Bai Huaoyu in front of him seemed like a shining deity that could bring him endless pleasure!

Assistant Xiao Li’s expression changed from one of confusion to a dazed and disoriented one. Suddenly, his eyes turned red with fervor, as he respectfully said to Bai Huaiyu, “Please tell me what you need, I will do anything for you!”

Bai Huaiyu’s eyes flickered with a cold light as he smiled tenderly and said, “Help me get rid of Si Huaixi and ruin his reputation.”

Although it was such a blatantly evil request, Assistant Xiao Li readily agreed without a second thought. His eyes were fervent and devout as he looked at Bai Huaiyu. He did not consider the consequences of what he was agreeing to, even though he could go to jail. He was like a madman, shouting, “I’ll do it for you, no matter what it takes!”

“He was just a neighbor. Can Bai Huaiyu, an Omega, really do anything bad?” Zhou Wenjia said carelessly.

As an Alpha, Zhou Wenjia naturally knew that Alphas had better physical qualities than Omegas and Betas. The best students in his school, from primary to high school, were always Alphas.

He could see the efforts put in by the Omega and Beta students, but during ordinary PE classes, even an Alpha with slightly better physical fitness could casually jump three meters high while the more impressive ones could reach up to five or six meters high, easily leaping over the basketball hoops, leaving the Omega and Beta students staring in awe. That’s why the basketball courts used by Alphas were specially made, distinguished from the activity areas used by other Omega and Beta students.

Although the law calls for Alphas to respect and care for vulnerable groups such as Omegas, the natural strength of Alphas and the intense internal competition within the Alpha group means that there is competition even among themselves, and this fierce competition determines their status and subordination, with lower-ranked Alphas inevitably submitting to the leadership of higher-ranked Alpha figures.

Alphas are naturally strong and proud, and they follow the ancient jungle law of survival of the fittest, tending to their instinctual desire to protect and care for the weak and precious Omegas. But in the hearts of these arrogant and conceited Alphas, they will always respect and submit to the strong, who are also Alphas.

Compassion was reserved for the weak.

As for the strong, they were revered and admired.

Zhou Wenjia shrugged his shoulders and didn’t think that Bai Huaiyu would cause any trouble. On the contrary, he thought that his friend Pei Zhaozhou was too cautious and didn’t act like an Alpha.
