Chapter 83 Me, Her And Her Mom

Villain Ch 83. Me, Her and Her Mom

"OK." He decided not to ask anymore due to the narrow time. "I think we should go now. The event will start in five minutes," he reminded them, his voice firm and decisive. The gravity of the situation was not lost on him; they couldn't afford to be late.

"Five minutes?!" Bella and Alice exclaimed in unison, their eyes widening in shock as they glanced at the corner of their screen that displayed the time. The seconds seemed to be ticking away faster than they could keep up with.

07.54 PM.

"Oh, crap!" Bella muttered; her panic palpable. Her character fumbled before she went to an NPC in a hurry.

"You guys go to the portal room first, we will follow you guys later," Alice suggested, her voice trembling with the same sense of urgency. She couldn't believe they had almost missed the start of the event. It would be a disaster if they didn't make it on time.

After Bella and Alice approached the NPC, they wasted no time in selling their hard-won hunting spoils. It was imperative that they unloaded their inventory, as an overloaded character would be slower and less agile, making it difficult to navigate through the treacherous terrain of the game. While they could have entrusted their belongings to Thera, the in-game storage system, they had yet to acquire any valuable loot, so selling their goods was the more practical choice.

"Make it fast," Allen urged, his impatience evident as he eyed the clock.

Without delay, the group quickly made their way to the portal room, their footsteps echoing against the stone walls. Thanks to his conversation with Shea earlier, Allen noticed that she seemed to have calmed down a bit. Her movements were less fidgety, and she appeared to be more at ease.

But as he observed the group, he noticed something odd. Zoe, who was known to be obedient to her mother, was acting rebellious, albeit in a playful manner. She threw teasing remarks at her mother, trying to provoke a response. Shea, however, seemed oblivious to her daughter's antics, her attention was solely focused on the task at hand.

Even though they didn't say anything, Allen immediately realized the trouble he was in. He was in the middle of a love triangle between him, Shea, and Zoe!

'I never expected this would happen to me in real life. I thought this only existed in harem stories,' he thought, silently cursing his luck. Well, on second thought, he maybe should be happy with it instead.

Suddenly, Vivian's voice broke through the chatter, making Allen turn towards her. "Are you tense?" Vivian asked, her concern palpable. She could sense the tension radiating off of Allen, and she knew that something was amiss.

Vivian had been paying attention to Allen's previous conversation with Shea, and she knew all too well the predicament that Allen was in, even though Shea tried to deny it with all her might.

"For the event? No," Allen responded casually, trying to mask his discomfort. He knew that he couldn't afford to show any weakness, especially not in front of his teammates. Besides, they had just killed players this morning, so he knew how strong most of them were. In fact, he was more tense with the previous conversation. Well, he knew the event could have turned wrong in some way.

Vivian glanced at Zoe and Shea, making sure they were busy talking to each other before she returned her gaze to Allen and leaned into his face, her eyes searching his face. "Is this about Zoe and Shea?" she whispered.

Allen felt a lump form in his throat, and he glanced over at the mother-daughter duo, who were busy talking to each other. He gave Vivian a dry smile, knowing that she had picked up on his thoughts. "Not really, but yeah," he admitted. "I admit I've been thinking about them. I'm worried, to be precise."

Vivian nodded in understanding, and her expression grew serious. "About the relationship between the two of them?" she asked.

Allen nodded. "This is not a novel or a fantasy story," he said. "The relationship between two humans is more complicated than that. This could just turn bad. Well, I hope not. I don't like to be the source of trouble in a family relationship. Especially since they only have each other."

Vivian was silent. Little shock. She had heard how Allen turned down Shea's request to be her sugar baby, but she had not expected him to think that deeply.

'I wonder if he is more suitable for a hero role than a villain role?' she thought. The thought that she would regret it soon.

The group arrived at the portal room, and the sound of their footsteps echoed throughout the chamber. Quickly, they approached the portal, and Allen could feel the tension building up. The air was thick with anticipation and excitement, the kind that can only be felt during a major event. He knew that they were not the only ones who were eager to participate in this event.

Shortly, Alice and Bella already rushed into the room, with their eyes glued to the vortex that stood in the room. They were hastily preparing themselves, equipping the necessary items and getting into formation, ready to join the fray.

Soon, an announcement appeared.

[The treasure hunt event will start soon. The Devil Emperor and his subordinates will hide 20 treasure boxes in Ront City's Underground Dungeon. The event will end in 15 minutes. Everyone who participates will get a 2X EXP bonus for an hour.]

Bella gazed in wonder at the glowing announcement that was displayed in front of her on the screen. "Wow they even added the prize," she exclaimed.

Allen nodded his agreement. "Let's go!" he declared, his voice full of excitement and anticipation.

Without further ado, they swiftly jumped to the portal and selected Ront City as their destination. Unlike their usual routine of completing daily quests, the portal took them directly to the dungeon.
