Chapter 11 – The Duchess of Tearing the Human Body to Pieces

On a holiday, Suzuha and I were summoned by Yuzuriha-san.

The duchess’ first-class carriage brought us to the Sakuragi Duke residence, where we were greeted by the duke and his family.

Beside my surprise, Suzuha seemed to know where we were going because she looked so nonchalant.

I wish she’d told me. It’s bad for my heart.

“Hey, you two, come in.”

Before I had time to ask what was going on, we were led deeper into the vast grounds.

“Suzuha-kun and his brother, thank you for coming—Today, Suzuha-kun and I would like to ask Suzuha-kun’s older brother for a day of guidance, okay?”

“Guidance, is it…?”

“Yes. I mean the training and combat drills you’re always giving Suzuha-kun. And of course the exercises and massages.”

“Huh…”

I really don’t understand how the nobles think.

The reason I train and spar with Suzuha, instruct her in flexibility exercises, and give her massages is simply because we are poor commoners with no money.

If we were in an environment where we had money, whether as nobles or commoners, although perhaps not to the extent of Yuzuriha-san, we would definitely hire a professional to do these things for us.

What the h**l is she up to?

“Suzuha-kun’s older brother has a difficult look on his face. But there’s no need to think so hard, I’m just asking you to play along today. Of course, I’ll pay you for the day’s instruction.”

“No, I don’t ask for money for some amateur’s guidance.”

“Don’t say that, just accept it. Then time is running out, so let’s get started.”

****

Yuzuriha-san took us to a training ground located in a remote part of the mansion.

When we entered the room, I saw a glowing magic circle with a diameter of about 30 meters in the center.

It was an extremely elaborate magic circle, which even a non-magic expert such as myself can recognise.

No doubt it cost a lot of money to make.

“Now then, this magic circle is the arena. So we can fight inside the magic circle.”

“What kind of effect does this magic circle have?”

“It would be quicker for you to see it with your own eyes than for me to explain it to you—Get ready!”

Yuzuriha-san clapped her hands, and some men, probably from the duke’s private army, brought a man into the magic circle. The preparations seemed to have been made beforehand.

The man who had been brought was unable to move because his mouth was sealed shut and his hands and feet were bound.

“This man is a spy who was caught trying to infiltrate our Duke’s household. But even after questioning, he wouldn’t reveal anything.”

As I was told, the bound man’s eyes held a strong gleam.

It was clear that he was absolutely determined not to speak out against his client, even in death.

“Then watch closely.”

Yuzuriha-san walked leisurely towards the magic circle saying that.

The man left in the middle of the magic circle glared at her, but Yuzuriha-san did not seem to care.

Yuzuriha-san walked over and stood in front of the man.

As they were, she grabbed the man’s waist from both sides and lifted him high with both hands and—

“Look.”

With a word, she ripped the man’s body in half.

From the groin to the top of the head, the human body was torn apart like a piece of paper. Blood poured out at a tremendous rate. Organs protruded and fell to the floor.

There was no need to check, it was an instant death.
