CH 4

The 11th Monthーー

“Sir Marquis, the [Gift] your son has received is……[Enchant].”

“En….chant? Do you mean the same enchant as you and the other priests use in the Church? The enchant related to Divine, Holy Magic?”

“...........we are not certain.” I placed my hand on the Crystal Ball, and I see the words [Alchemy BOX] and [Enchant] appear.

But “BOX” is still in a language only I can understand.

“Then…..is it the same Enchant as Mages use, the Spell {Enchant}?” “We are not certain of that either. Usually, it should come up as the [Enchanting Talent]. The fact that it only says [Enchant] is something that has never happened before.” Apparently, if it was a [Gift] related to a Magic Type, it should say [XX Magic Type Enchanting Talent].

“Is there a chance that it is an Enchanting ability across all Magic Types?”

“Then it should have come up as simply [Enchanting Talent]. And even if that were the case, your son’s Magic Power level is……..the absolute lowest value.”

The Marquis, the stepmother, and Endin who came to my ritual rite of passage to adulthood all frown at the statement.

It is because all three have the same Magic Power level as me.

But even the people who cannot use Magic have a Magic Power Status of around 5. At the lowest, it would be about 3, and at most, it would be about 7.

But for those who can use spells, their status would be over 30, and there is no in between.

I let out a slow exhale and then call upon the Status with my thoughts.

The Status that floats up in my line of sight cannot be seen by anyone else. This is the same for everyone unless you have an Assessment Skill.

With this kind of Status, using Spells would be out of the question. So why is my [Gift] something related to enchanting if I can’t even use Spells? Later, just to confirm, I was forced to practice Enchantment Spells, but I didn’t even get close to lucky.

“I see. It’s no use.” “Yes, it’s completely hopeless.”

Could you stop with the negativity!

Well, I guess it doesn’t matter either way.

You can only receive one [Gift] in your lifetime, but Magic and Skills are different.

There are some Skills that can be achieved with training and effort.

Hehe. Now, all that’s left to do is to go back to the mansion, and once I get my luggage, I’m gone!

But the Orc mother and son has been chuckling and laughing this entire time behind me, and it’s getting on my nerves.

They probably just came along so they could laugh at me!

And as we left the Church, the Orc mother and son said something frightening.

“Lou Quain, we’ll let yoーu ride back in a carriage at least. Be thaーnkful!”

Endin: “Hmph, butー you won’t be riding in the same one as us!”

I wouldn’t ride with them even if they begged me to. A King Size carriage still leans over to one side as soon as these two get on.

“Lou Quain. Hurry up and get on, so we can all get back.”

Ain: “Yes, understood.” The Marquis had an unreadable expression on his face.

I bet it was because the Orc mother and son were nagging him about how hungry they were.

I want to go back too and get ready for my escape.

The milk maid had held onto one of my mother’s keepsakes. And Roku left me some gardening tools.

And there’s also the money that the milk maid and Roku secretly set aside for when I left the mansion.

I already had all these things packed.

Now, all that’s left is to leave without anyone knowing when the security of the mansion is at its lowest.

I head to the smaller carriage that was behind the large one.

As soon as I open the door….

The back of my head was hiーーt?

My eyes waver and turns over.

All I could hear was the Orc mother and son’s laughter as I lose consciousness.

“BUOHHH HO HO HO!! We’ll send you to the appropriate place for a useless scum like you!”

Endin: “BUUUHEEEE HE HE HE. I don’t have any use for a talentless trash like you.”

Dangit………..it was……….a trap………

<<<<>>>>

I don’t know how many days have passed since.

After I regained consciousness, I have been kept inside the carriage. They also put a bag over my head, so I can’t see anything around me.

During meals, they flip open the bag to only reveal my mouth.

I was thinking about leaving the Lonneberg family anyways, so if they’re going to dump me somewhere, that’s fine.

But I wished that I could have at least brought my mother’s keepsake with me.

But as I thought about these things, the carriage stopped.

I could hear the sound of waves somewhere in the distance. Did we come all the way to the coast? I heard the door of the carriage open, and they took the bag off my head.

Ain: “Ugh………..” I was going to say how bright it wasーーbut then stopped.

It was night time. There’s no light outside.

“Hey, stretch out your hands.”

Standing outside the carriage was a middle-aged man who was chubby but not as much as the Orc mother and son.

He didn’t even give me time to say, “Huh?” and grabbed my hands and pulled them towards him.

<CLANK> With a loud sound, they handcuffed me in chains.

“GEHYA HA HA HA HA. From this day on, you’re just a slave.”

Now, I was in a situation where being dumped in the middle of nowhere would have been a thousand times better.
