Ch. 101: A Fateful Reunion
It wasn’t long after we embarked.
The ships in the distance saw us coming and began firing their cannons.
We heard the sound of the cannonball whistle as it came closer, and Kumi swatted it into the water.
Luke: “Kumi, your arms are going to blow up if you hit a cannonball!”
Kumi: [I will be fine. I am using a Water Barrier around my arms.]
Luke: “You can use Magic?” Kumi: [Yes, I can use most Water Type Spells.]
Wow, that’s amazing!
Just as expected from a monster. Or rather, a sea monster.
But as we got closer to the opposing fleet, the number of cannons firing and cannonballs flying through the air grew in number.
Eventually, it became difficult to proceed forward.
Kumi: [Everyone, please stop your ship until they stop firing the cannons.]
Luke: “Okay, Kumi. Are you okay?” Kumi: [Yes, since it’s just the Barrier Spell, I can hold on for about 3 days and 3 nights.]
That’s way more than enough!
Kurasuke: [Momma～ You can do it～]
Sia: “You can do it～”
[Unbehー]
Kumi held off the cannon fire, but it ended pretty quickly. Was that about 15 minutes?
I suspected that they ran out of ammo.
By that time, the eastern horizon began to get lighter.
The cloudy sky began clearing up as well.
Luke: “It’s morning already.”
“Whooaaa, that’s quite a fleet they got thereー”
“Sir Baron, there are about 15 enemy ships, and the front 5 ships are Andestan Navy ships. What are your orders?” Luke: “Andestan Navy? Why is the Andestan ships attacking uーーwait….uhhhh……it can’t beーー”
An awful realization hit me just then.
Sia: “Uーk, what’s wrong?”
Luke: “Yeah…….well…….I just remembered about the Former Navy Officer who hated usー, no, hated me personally…”
Gonzo: [HAーHA HA! So what will you do, Lou Quain?]
Gonzo froze the ocean with an Ice Breath and stood looming over our ship.
As the ocean brightened with the morning light, I wondered what our situation looked like from the enemy ship’s deck.
We came in one ship, and it was not a naval battleship.
Next to that ship was a giant Dragon with silver blue scales glaring down on us.
In front of that ship was a giant Kraken looming on the surface.
Luke: “Hey, is there anyone here that has a Spell that can spy on the enemy’s status?” “I could use my Wind Spirit to listen to pick up what the enemy is saying.”
Luke: “Thanks, could you try that?” “Yes, [Spirit of the Wind]”
One of the female Adventurers began an incantation, and after a while, we heard some sounds as if being picked up by a mic.
[WhーWhーWHーWHーWH…WHAT IS THAT THING?!]
[General Appunto!! WhーWhaaaーWhーWhat…What is that?!]
[Hey, you soldiers said nothing about this ーー why are we fighting monsters like that?!]
[It’s over…..we never should have left the mines…..it’s over…. It’s all over….]
[They’re going to eat us….THEY’RE GOING TO EAT US ALLーーー]
Okay, not one of them is calm.
[HーHurry and fire the cannons! Fire all the cannons!]
[Yes, hurry up and fire! Fire the cannons quickly!]
Waiー, that last voice……it can’t be?!
[General Appunto, we must retreat. Please order the retreat. We can’t beat them!]

Wait, is he holding the family of his subordinates hostage?
The sun began climbing over the horizon, and I was able to see the entire fleet.
I could also see a few black pirate flags too.
Kurasuke must have seen it as he dashed behind one of the sailors to hide behind them.
Kumi: [Oh…….oh……that ship………]
Luke: “Kumi, what’s wrong?”
She shook in place. I also saw bubbles rising up all around her at the same time.
Was she getting excited?

Luke: “Kurasuke, what’s the matter?”
Kurasuke: [It’s that ship……my brother……]
But he never finished what he was saying. No, he couldn’t finish saying it.
But I understood enough.
Luke: “Kumi, it’s okay to avenge your son.”
Kumi: [Yes.]
And with a short answer, she brought up a large tentacle andーー
Fired a giant water ball at the fleet.
The sphere of water struck one of the ships in the back of the fleet, and it blew apart.
Luke: “Onwards!”
With my order, my ship began proceeding forward.
The fleet was in confusion before, but with Kumi’s strike, their panic climaxed.
Some even jumped ship and tried to swim away.
Luke: “Can you deliver my voice with your Wind Spell?” “It is possible. Shall I do it?”
I turned to the female Adventurer with the Wind Spirit and nodded to her.
“ーーplease go ahead.”
[Thanks, oh, they can hear me already?]
“Pfft, yes, they can hear you.”
The Adventurer suppressed a laugh as she pointed to the enemy fleet.
Oh, I need to think fast about what to say.
