CH 8

“Ohh~ Ruka is as strong as ever~”

“Haha, grandpa. This is normal~”

The harvesting of the fields was finished after noon.

I was carrying five stacks of boxes filled with tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons and other harvested summer vegetables.

“No, I mean it. You’re really very strong. The last time I asked my neighbor’s muscular brother to do it for me, it was like only two boxes and that’s all he could do.”

“Haha, thanks. Don’t push yourself too hard Grandpa.”

I remembered when I was little, I used to carry a shopping bag with me, because people used to praise me, saying, “Ruka is a strong man.”

I am sure that to grandparents, their grandchildren will always be little children.

Since he still seems to think I’m happy to be praised for lifting heavy things.

“… Ruka, you’re so kind, so I’m sure you get beat up a lot at school, too. But it’s okay to hit back once in a while, you know?”(E/N: Idk about that logic in the first half.)

“That’s right. We know the truth is that Ruka is a lot stronger than the others. But it hurts us more when you get hurt.”

I was surprised when they suddenly said that, but I hurriedly smiled.

“Ah, Ahaha… That’s not the case, Grandpa and Grandma! I’m doing fine at school! Don’t worry! And I even have friends! And there’s even a pretty girl too!”

I falsely claimed the members of the literature club as my friends, and I managed to fool them.

I didn’t want my grandparents to worry about me.

(If I really was stronger, I wouldn’t be bullied… Some of the delinquents at the school who are sandbagging me are from the famous boxing club, and there’s even the head of the local gang… that I don’t stand a chance against…)

I managed to hold back an involuntary sigh at my lack of strength and put the box in the back of the truck.

The truck sank about 20 centimeters under the weight of the box.

After I finished helping them, I changed my clothes and went back home.
