Chapter 94 - Whatever, embarrassing herself wasn't a big deal if she could find out if Du Ruo was infected (2)
Soon after, Bei Nuan and the others noticed that the lights in the room were all on. Even now, the campus didn't have a power outage! They were shocked!

That day in Ningcheng supermarket, she had hugged someone that had an asthma attack and said those words, so her task wasn't completed.
In other words, all she had to do was hug Du Ruo, say those words, and she would know if he was going to mutate. The only downside with this idea was that she would lose all face by doing such a crazy thing.

Lu Xingchi was only stumped for a few seconds. He strode over, crouched down, and lightly patted her back like he was soothing a child that had a nightmare.
"What's wrong? Don't be afraid." His voice was low and gentle.

So then he wasn't infected, right?

Du Ruo turned around and patted Bei Nuan. "It's okay. Life and death is up to fate. Even if I do change, you don't have to be afraid."
With him leaning so close to her, she could see the redness in his eyes even more clearly. That didn't make sense.
Bei Nuan thought it over and carefully read the task's explanations again. She called out to Little Three, “Little Three, the "help him" voice task requires someone that's about to turn into a zombie. How soon is about to?"
Little Three promptly answered, "The usual amount of time."
"You have to have a time standard, right?" Bei Nuan wasn't willing to accept this answer.
Little Three replied, "Sorry, the time standard set by the system can't be disclosed."
So then, Du Ruo might be infected. She only knew that he wasn't about to mutate into a zombie yet.
Bei Nuan sighed, shrugged off Lu Xingchi's arm, listlessly walked back to her seat, and went back to blankly staring

"Bei Nuan, you're so kind to me. You look like you're going crazy from worry. If I really become a zombie, I'll try my best to not bite you."
