A few individuals appeared dissatisfied, but they chose to remain silent as they were in a meeting.
After the meeting ended, it was time to leave for the day. Lin Wan tidied up her desk before heading home with her bag.
Back at Blue Bay villa, Xiao Yichen had not returned yet. Lin Wan changed into her comfortable clothes and went downstairs to the living room, where she sat and watched TV while awaiting Xiao Yichen’s arrival.
When it was close to 7.00 pm, Lin Wan heard a sound at the door. She turned around and saw Xiao Yichen entering.
Xiao Yichen also spotted Lin Wan and walked directly to the living room, sitting beside her.
“When did you get back?” Xiao Yichen inquired. His arm reached out to hold Lin Wan.
“An hour ago,” Lin Wan replied. Her voice remained calm, concealing her true emotions.
Xiao Yichen wanted to engage in a conversation, but Lin Wan spoke before he could say anything.
“Auntie Li has already prepared dinner. Let’s eat!” Lin Wan stood up and walked toward the dining room, paying no attention to Xiao Yichen following her.
Xiao Yichen’s arms remained empty, and he also felt a sense of emptiness within himself. His heart turned cold.
Though he frowned slightly, his expression didn’t change much. He stood up and joined Lin Wan in the dining room.
Throughout the meal, Xiao Yichen and Lin Wan sat opposite each other. Lin Wan remained silent, and Xiao Yichen attempted to speak several times but didn’t know what to say.
In the end, Xiao Yichen gathered the courage to speak, “Wan’er, 1’11 take you to meet some friends in three days. I have another friend. Ziyan and Brother Zishen will also be there.”
