Chapter 189 - 189 Ch. 189 Anxia’s Keen Perceptive

189 Ch. 189 Anxia’s Keen Perceptive

“Back then, I didn’t know why he avoided me. Before I realized my true feelings, I didn’t care about them. Andrew avoided me indirectly but was always there when I needed him. When I realized my feelings and tried to approach him, he blocked me completely.”

“Why did he do it?”

“I wish I know.”

“Moni. He loves you. I can see it. But―”

“But that’s not the affection I want.”

Anxia no longer continued her sentence and shifted the topic. “If you don’t mind, may I know why you were seeing someone else if you are already in love with Andrew?”

“Andrew told me to. He said the way I felt then was temporary and a habit. Maybe if I try to hook up with another guy, I’ll get distracted and fall in love with that person.”

“Did it work?”

“Of course not. I tried to end it, but but my ex didn’t want to break up.”

.....

“Then?”

“Then I admit that I love someone else. But he was relentless―he even said he would make me forget about Andrew.”

“Don’t tell me... is it your ex-fiancé?” Anxia’s question earned a nod from Harmonie. Poor guy. Anxia thought silently.

“I genuinely believe I can get over him through my fiancé―I tried to move on by accepting his proposal, but when he mentioned marriage―”

“You have doubts.” Anxia guessed, continuing Harmonie’s words.

“No, I don’t. Instead, I feel confident―I’m confident that Gerard is not the man I want to marry. Thus, I decided to stop and feel sorry for making him waste his time on me―I should have stopped it long ago.”

“I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you can meet someone better.”

Harmonie put on a big smile in response to her sister-in-law’s prayer, but in her heart, she knew the answer best. She wanted no one but Andrew Heinest and decided not to marry or enter a boarding relationship with another man.

Little did she know that Andrew decided not to marry because of her. He would only think about marriage after hearing the news from Harmonie.

Both of them thought there was still hope, so they decided not to get ahead of the wedding of their sweetheart.

“Just forget it,” exclaimed Harmonie then. “I’ve already decided. I will not hook up with a man. I will accompany my parents and take care of them until the end of their lives. Then I will accompany my cute little nephews and nieces. I will not marry for the rest of my life and enjoy life as a free girl to travel the world.”

Anxia glanced at the balcony door when she felt movement from within, and then she gave a gentle, meaningful smile. “Eh? Are you sure you can stick with your decision?”

“Of course, I’m sure.”

“I used to think like you too. I will never marry or tie myself to a man. But everything was different when I met your brother.”

“Have you ever fallen in love with anyone before my brother?”

“Never.”

“Then our situation is different.”

“Different, how?”

“You’ve never felt in love before. Of course, you can think like that and change after experiencing what it’s like to love someone and be loved by that person. As for me, I’ve felt it and experienced rejection over and over again. So I’m sure about my decision, and I will never change it unless… if that heartless guy returns my feelings.”

“Maybe he will,” muttered Anxia in a whisper-like voice that Harmonie couldn’t hear her.

Anxia kept accompanying Harmonie on the balcony without paying attention to her bracelet, which was already given colorful lights―a sign that her husband was looking for her. She even forgot to bring her phone, so the man must not know where she is now.

Even if Anxia knew that Richard was looking for her, she would never leave Harmony. Accompanying Harmonie was the most important thing right now―as a sister.

On the other side, Andrew had been listening to the ladies’ conversation―made a unanimous decision. When Andrew decided to go to give Harmonie and Anxia some privacy, his footsteps stopped, and he reflexively hid behind the door when he heard Anxia’s question.

‘Do you like him that much?’

Andrew was curious how Richard’s wife, whom he had just met, found out about Harmonie’s feelings that she had been hiding all this time. He didn’t mind being an eavesdropper as his curiosity got the best of him. Never did he expect that Anxia was aware of his eavesdropping presence and had purposely drawn Harmonie into pouring out all of her heart’s content.

Anxia has drawn Harmonie not because she wanted to know the girl’s heart. But she wanted Andrew to hear how Harmonie was feeling right now.

Although Anxia disliked Quinn and even hated the lady, Anxia still cared about Harmonie’s happiness. If Harmonie could only love Andrew and that guy also seemed to like Moni but couldn’t approach her for some reason, then Anxia would pave the way by giving Andrew an excuse.

Anxia didn’t know why the man was holding back his feelings. If something prevented him from approaching Harmonie, then Anxia would give him something that made him want to fight for his loved one.

Sometimes Anxia cursed her intelligence―her eyes and instincts were too perceptive, so she would unknowingly meddle in other people’s affairs when she didn’t want to be involved. However, Anxia felt proud of herself this time for her keen perceptiveness. She used to hate it―she was disgusted before for her skill was used to infiltrate a place and to kill. Now Anxia could use it to bring lovebirds together. She hoped that after this, she could see the joyful smile adorning Harmonie’s face, complemented by the beaming eyes filled with happiness.

After all, Anxia felt indebted to Harmonie because the girl paved the way for her to reconcile with Michele. How could she bear to see Harmonie drag on low, fake cheerfulness, and look lonely like this?

Anxia’s lips curved into a small smile when she realized something―she never knew she could think over someone aside from her daughter like this.

‘Richie, you have completely turned my life upside down.’
