v5 Chapter 13: Hang the Doge of Venice!

As a historian of magic, Bagshot has come across the term Deathly Hallows more than once in his research career.

When she was young, when she was writing the manuscript of the book History of Magic, she wrote on the title page:

The Magic History Classic Building has been completed, and all that remains is some cosmetic work.

In the distance of the clear sky, there were two dark clouds that looked insignificant.

The first dark cloud is the prehistoric mystery; the second is Death and his Deathly Hallows.

After thinking it over and over again, for fear of causing a witch chase, she deleted this paragraph when she published it.

So she had mixed feelings about possibly guiding the two young wizards to the Holy Grail tonight.

On the one hand, Bagshot doesn't want anyone to find the Deathly Hallows.

Most people can only see the holy artifact, but ignore the word death. But countless history has proved that the gift of death is extremely bloody.

Death is also deliberately luring wizards to chase.

But because of this, she desperately hopes that someone can study the **** of death thoroughly and end the story of the three brothers.

Bagshot knew that he was dying, that he would not live for a few more years, and his memory was getting worse and worse.

But tonight is not the time!

At this moment, her heart is beating strongly and fast... Her mind feels sharp.

There are still responsibilities to do!

Whether it's saving the city from being submerged, or helping the young wizards in front of us...find the Holy Grail.

Coincidentally, when someone first approached her to learn about the Deathly Hallows, they were also two young people.

She had high expectations for the two of them, but what happened after that made her regret it too much!

It took only one summer for the pair of talented wizards to meet and break up.

Fifty years later, they had to pick up the wand and kill each other!

It can be said that the fifty-year history of the magic world has been completely changed by that noisy summer.

History is like this, an accident may lead to a different ending.

Bagshot originally thought that there was no hope of solving the Deathly Hallows in this life.

Unexpectedly, after a hundred years, the gears of fate kept spinning, and two more young people were selected and sent to her.

They even have two Deathly Hallows in their hands, and their relationship is stronger than that of the pair of wizards back then.

Is this fate?

Bagshot pondered for a long time, and finally said in a hoarse voice:

"He who bears the crown of wisdom,

Follow in the footsteps of the Doge of Venice. "

"He has lied,

cut off the horse's head,

Take away the bones of the blind..."

"Son, it was clearly referring to you at the beginning," the old man said, turning his head in the direction William and Hermione were breathing.

"As for the doge...from the first doge appeared in 687, to Napoleon's annihilation of the Republic of Venice in 1797.

In the past thousand years, there have been 120 governors, who do you think they are referring to? "

Hermione raised her hand habitually, she realized that this was not a class, and put it down as if nothing had happened.

However, William still found out, glanced over with a smile, she glared at him, and stuck out her tongue playfully.

Hermione ignored William, sorted out her thoughts a little, and said:

"I thought at first that the Doge of Venice in Death's Guide was the one who deceived St. Mark's body."

Thousands of years ago, with the rise and independence of Venice, they began to want to elevate the city.

The patron saint of the original city was called San Theodore. But this saint who was born in Greece is not high in the sage hierarchy, just a third-rate person.

How can this work!

Look next door in Florence, where the patron saint is St. John the Baptist; in Rome, St. Peter.

The Venetians were suddenly unbalanced. Why should your saints have a higher status than ours?

So, the second governor, Justinian, set his sights on the corpse of St. Mark.

St. Mark is one of the twelve apostles of **** and holds a high status.

At the order of the Doge, two merchants defrauded the remains of St. Mark from Alexandria and sent them back to Venice.

This is one of the most famous deceitful governors in history.

Hermione thought the Governor was this one. She shook her head slightly and said:

"But Nico said that the Holy Grail was traded to Constantinople during the Crusades."

"The crusades are too far from Justinian's history, so this governor can only be ruled out."

She coughed and said:

"The Holy Grail was traded to Constantinople, but soon after, it was exiled to Venice... Then, there is only one possibility..."

Hermione paused and said confidently:

"It was plundered by Venice during the Fourth Crusade!"

William looked at Hermione admiringly.

The girl shows not only a strong memory, but also a wide range of subjects and a strong ability to analyze problems.

In terms of memory, William has never met a few wizards, he can compare to Hermione.

Not to mention dabbling, when William first met her, he was only eleven years old, and he was holding a thick Encyclopedia Britannica!

"However, I can't remember the Governor's name." Hermione frowned slightly, as if she was not satisfied with her memory.

She could only vaguely remember what she had seen four or five years ago!

Simply unforgivable!

Hermione was fine with everything, but not so good. She is like the school tyrant in the class. Every time the paper is sent out, people cry... She also burst into tears.

Others were one point short of passing, and she was one point short of full marks, but she cried even more sadly, and the students who failed to pass came to comfort her.

Fortunately, Hermione was not a boy, otherwise she would have been beaten.

"William, do you remember your name?" Hermione asked, not knowing what the boy was thinking.

William nodded and said without hesitation: "The Governor of Venice is... Enrico Dandolo."

In fact, when Nico brings up the Crusades, he immediately thinks of Dandolo.

As an avid P club player, and a member of Jing Luo, how could William forget this famous governor?

How do you say that?

135 weeping, 246 angry, hang the Doge of Venice on Sunday!

The Doge of Venice to be hanged is Dandolo.

Who were the villains in the Fourth Crusade? Basically, everyone has a fairly consistent understanding, that is the Republic of Venice.

The goal of the Fourth Crusade was originally Egypt.

Pope Innocent III launched the campaign, originally planned to be led by Theopold III, Count of Champagne, in the Kingdom of France.

They attacked the Egypt of the Muslin Ayyubid Dynasty, and then used it as a base to rescue Jerusalem, which was controlled by Muslin.

After a series of mishaps, the governor deceived everyone, took his army elsewhere, and conquered Constantinople.

And, sacked the ancient capital.

"Yes, it is indeed the Governor." Bagshot sighed: "There are too many items stolen by the Crusaders."

"Cut off the head of the horse... The horse who said this is not a real horse, but a horse that is regarded as the treasure of St. Mark."

"In order to transport the horse back to Venice, Dandolo sawed off the head of the horse, and then decorated it with a collar to cover up the marks."

"He once lied and cut off the horse's head..." Hermione was a little excited. "These are all in line, what about taking away the bones of the blind?"

Bagshot suddenly asked, "How did you come to Venice?"

"By train." Hermione didn't know why the old man asked this.

"Which train station did you get off at?" she asked again.

"Santa Lucia train station."

"Then... do you know the story of Santa Lucia?"

Both William and Hermione shook their heads.

In his previous life, William had heard the Italian Naples boat song - "Santa Lucia".

"Santa Lucia was one of the four martyrs of Christ," explained Bagshot.

"She herself is extremely beautiful The eyes have magic power, and every man yearns for her. Rukia gouged out her own eyes in order to ensure her own purity."

"Blind..." Hermione exclaimed.

"That's right." Bassett nodded. "The governor of Dandolo was in his eighties when he plundered Constantinople.

His purpose is not only for money, but also for Rukia's remains.

Rukia's bones have the same effect as a magic stone and can prolong life. "

William breathed a sigh of relief.

"The flood will cover the sky, and the Holy Grail will burn at the bottom of the tomb."

So, everything is clear.

The Holy Grail is either in Dandolo's tomb or in Rukia's place.
