[Noelia: Beloved One]

※Noelia’s POV

As I watch him lying on the bed, I can’t stop tears from overflowing from my eyes.

“Frick-sama…” (Noelia)

Bandaged not only his left arm, but his entire body, he sleeps in the bed inside a room in the orphanage.

The organization that has been making secret maneuvers using Abyss Walkers, when the monster called Genocider they newly brought was dying, it exploded involving Frick-sama who it was pinning down.

“I’m back~. Frick’s still sleeping? Eh, you’re crying again, Noelia? I told you he’s fine, but if, for argument’s sake, he dies, I’ll bind his soul to your favorite staff, so no need to worry~.” (Cinzia)

“Cinzia-sama, could you please don’t kill Frick-sama without permission?” (Noelia)

Probably because she sees the heavy air, from the bone bird perching on my shoulder, Cinzia-sama starts cracking a joke.

I hurriedly wipe the tears at the corner of my eyes and regain my composure.

“Just kiddin’, just kiddin’. I just wanted to make fun of Noelia because she sobbed so much in front of Frick who just fainted because he ran out of magic power.” (Cinzia)

“Cinzia-sama, Frick-sama not only ran out of magic power. Even though they’re light, he has burns all over his body, and the wound on his arm is quite deep, so I just can’t help but be worried. And his wound might get infected and make him fall ill.” (Noelia)

“You worry too much~. Even if you don’t wrap his whole body with bandages and cast healing magic on him around the clock, his injuries would be healed if you were just to rub your saliva on them.” (Cinzia)

“My saliva!? I will absolutely never use that sort of unsanitary thing! Besides, he’s been sleeping for more than two days, I am worried that he would stay asleep like this.” (Noelia)

Since he was carried to the orphanage, I have been by his side and casting healing magic on him, and as a result, the injuries on his body have almost completely healed.

However, Frick-sama has never even once regained his consciousness and been remain asleep the whole time.

“That’s natural. In order to protect the village from that explosion, he deployed multiple giant Wind Barriers and Physical Guards to suppress the damage after all. Can you imagine how many thousands of ordinary mages would take to do that?” (Cinzia)

“It is true that the barriers were extraordinarily huge, but…” (Noelia)

“Thanks to Frick’s barriers, the power of the explosion was rebounded to the direction of the tunnel, the tunnel also got blown off, though. I’ve been mobilizing my golems and the uninjured villagers to clean up the rubbles, but it seems like we can’t leave for a while.” (Cinzia)

Thanks to Frick-sama, although several houses in the village were completely destroyed by the fires, the rest of the village were not damaged by the subsequent blast, but in the aftermath of the explosion, the tunnel, which was the only entrance to the village, including a part of the mountains, vanished.

After recovering her magical power, Cinzia-sama have been working hard to allow people and carriages to pass through the place using golems.

“Now then, magic power refilling is complete. I’ll go back to the site again~. Noelia, too, you can’t cry again, ‘aight? If Frick finds you crying when he wakes up, he’d be saddened, after all. Ask Suzana put make-up on you and have it hidden, okay?” (Cinzia)

“I-is my face looking that terrible!?” (Noelia)

“Un, it’s so terrible. Your beauty is ruined, y’know.” (Cinzia)

After recovering her exhausted magical power, Cinzia-sama flies flutteringly toward the tunnel through the broken and glassless window.

As though replacing Cinzia-sama, Suzana who has been helping to prepare meals outside opens the door and come inside.

“Did Cinzia-sama come back?” (Suzana)

“Y-yes. It looks like she came to replenish her magic power. Suzana, is my face looking terrible?” (Noelia)

“Why do you suddenly say something like that?” (Suzana)

“Cinzia-sama told me that face looks terrible from crying, so I might make Frick-sama worries if he wakes up now…” (Noelia)

Suzana stared into my face.

“That is… indeed true. You have not slept for two days after all; your hair is unkempt, your eyes and face are red and swollen, I think Frick-sama would be worried if he were to see your current condition.” (Suzana)

“Will I be hated, I wonder?” (Noelia)

“Frick-sama is not that kind of person, so it’s okay, but I’m sure he will be worried. As Cinzia-sama said, he is just unconscious because he ran out of magic power, and as he might wake up anytime, I think you should dress up and put on a light make up, at least.” (Suzana)

Because I also received the same suggestion as Cinzia-sama from Suzana, who I depend on as my older sister, I realize that I have been so absorbed in nursing Frick-sama that my condition has become quite terrible.

At the same time, I hear a small rumbling sound from my belly.

“Since you have not eaten much, as your personal maid, I can only be rest assured once you have a proper meal, however.” (Suzana)

“Alright. I will immediately have a meal and get changed.” (Noelia)

“Understood. I will ask a villager to look after Frick-sama.” (Suzana)

After nodding a little, I head for the wagon parked outside with Suzana to have a meal and change my clothes.
