Chapter 188 - [Bonus ]Don't Do That

"More problems?" Samuel asked when he saw the look that was on Lena's face when she got off the phone.

"Perhaps." She replied as she set her phone down. Although she knew what was going on was no longer something that she needed to keep a secret from Samuel, she still didn't want to discuss anything too openly at the office because of the risk of someone over hearing anything.

Thus, she simply told Samuel that she would tell him about it later. Which was good timing as Genson returned just at that time with their drinks. His mood didn't seem much better than it had been before he left, but this time he refrained from saying anything that could be considered disrespectful on his end of the conversation.

Samuel still thanked him for his drink like he had done last time as the other set it on the table for him before giving Lena her coffee. She mildly wished when she picked it up to take a drink that she had requested him to bring her back more than one. She didn't care that caffeine addiction was a thing, it helped her to get through troublesome days.

"If you want me to keep paying you the promised amount, I want you to step up the work you're doing and find out anything suspicious from anyone here.. As long as it isn't anything dangerous, I don't care what means you use to get the information, I just want it sooner rather than later." She told Genson in response to him asking if there was anything else that she needed from him before he left.

"I'm giving you three more days to get me anything meaningful before I decide if it is worth it to keep you working on this project or not since I already have Eve I can rely on for the technology side." The princess meant it when she said this and knew that Genson would understand that was well. She hoped that it would be enough of a threatening push to get him to deliver the results that she was looking for.

She didn't want this situation to carry on any longer than necessary and would prefer if it would be dealt with before her engagement so that it was on less thing for her to have to return to. If she was allowed to go back to work and not required to take time off following the event.

It was still a debate that she was having with her father about saving all her time off for when she got married rather than taking a few days off after the engagement since in her mind nothing was really changing since they were already technically engaged, it just wasn't official.

"Three days is a little bit short Princess, but I'll see what I can do. I would hope that if I can't deliver exactly what you're looking for that you know I'm trying me best here." Genson replied though inside he was cursing her and partly himself out for the current situation.

He doubted that three days would be enough time for him to find anything useful out. The employees really were that difficult to talk to and because he hadn't been putting in the full amount of effort that he knew should have, he didn't know if he could get anyone to crack within three days.

"I won't comment on anything until you give me something decent to work with." The princess replied before she motioned for him to leave the office. She didn't have a lot of excessive work to finish, but she didn't really want to deal with him anymore either.

He left without saying anything else but she could feel the drop in his mood as he left. Which slightly impacted her because it was his own fault that he found himself in his current situation. He didn't take what he was supposed to do seriously due to whatever or whoever else he was working with.

"You think it'll honestly work to approach it from that way?" Samuel asked after Genson left. Lena didn't verbally reply to him and instead just shrugged her shoulders. She needed to focus more on other things if Genson wasn't going to be reliable.

Samuel couldn't miss that the princess was in a bad mood based upon the way that she was reacting to him. He didn't like it since things had been rather nice after he had gotten back over the weekend even though they only spent part of that time together. Jovani might not have been around but he still was texting the other and sending him stuff that he needed to do.

The influx of work was different, and mildly annoying during the time that it had started coming in at. He wanted to figure everything out around the engagement before he had to seriously work. It didn't turn out that way however.

Without much work to do at the office either aside from keep the princess company with her current bad mood, he decided that he would do something else that might help her instead.

"Would this help your bad mood?" Samuel asked as he came up behind the princess and kissed the top of her head. He had wanted to wrap his arms around her as well but could feel that it might take things a step further than she was comfortable with considering their current location.

"Don't do that." The princess replied. She was quiet before replying longer than he had expected her to be, but based upon the slight edge to the tone of her voice, it seemed to have the effect that he had been hoping.

"Doesn't affection in these situations help you to feel better though? Gives you something positive to counter the annoyances that you're dealing with." Samuel reasoned as he kissed her head again. It was a gentle soft touch but it still had an odd effect on her. What ever was she going to do with him?
