Do You Still Hate Her? 06 – Lulu have fans coming to cheer on her

To be honest, Ning Lin’s performance was good and indeed brought some pressure to Shang Lu.

Because of this, Shang Lu who was still hesitating about which scene to perform, felt that it was better to take a gamble at this moment. Even if she couldn’t secure this role, at least she would have performed her favorite scene, without much regret.

The performance officially begins, and from this moment on, she becomes Song Yanxue.

On the stage, there is nothing but a table, a few chairs, and a sofa.

There are no props or fellow actors, making the difficulty of choosing this scene double. She can only rely on her belief and the power to make the audience immerse themselves in the atmosphere created by the actor.

After winning the Best Actress award and “disappearing” for a day and a night, she returns home alone, leaving behind all the waiting media reporters.

But at this time, her parents are gathering with relatives and friends.

Following the script, she has already asked the nanny to leave and tidied up the house herself. She has prepared a delicious feast, waiting for her parents to come back.

Shang Lu sits expressionless at the table, and waits as the food grows cold, she slowly raises her head, looking towards the direction of the door.

There was a sound of knocking on the door. Of course, it is Shang Lu’s hand under the table that made the sound.

And the sound was like an instruction issued inside a robot’s body. At the moment the sound rang out, a programmed smile immediately appeared on Shang Lu’s face.

She had practiced that smile in front of the mirror millions of times, knowing it was the most photogenic and beautiful.

“Mom, Dad, you’re back.” Shang Lu stood up and went to greet her “parents who came home”, helping to support her father, who was somewhat drunk and still scolding her.

When faced with reprimands, Shang Lu slightly lowered her head and softened her voice. “At such an important moment, I want to be with Mom and Dad.”

After saying this, she timidly raised her eyes and quickly glanced at her “parents” in front of her. She didn’t say anything more, just looked at the table where dishes should be placed.

Her parents had already eaten, obviously making her actions unnecessary, but she still couldn’t accept it.

Instead of choosing to speak the lines written in the script, she used this subtle gesture to replace them. However, it was more in line with the weak image of this character who never dared to argue with her parents.

Because Shang Lu had reached this point, Han Cheng’s pen, which was unconsciously twirling out of impatience, finally stopped. He earnestly began to watch Shang Lu’s performance.

Next came a casual conversation, which in the original plot was the parents urging her to work harder. Shang Lu mechanically nodded in agreement, but the smile on her face faded with each nod, until a glass fell to the ground.

Shang Lu crouched down to pick up the shattered pieces, looking up at her parents with pure confusion in her eyes.

She asked, “Isn’t it enough? I’ve always followed your words and accomplished all the goals you set for me. But why am I still not the perfect daughter in your eyes? What else do I need to do? What do I have to do to earn your praise and love?”

She lowered her gaze and looked at the “broken glass” in her hand. Suddenly, she slashed it across her face and murmured, “If your expectations of me are endless, can it all end this way?”

She suddenly laughed.

But her eyes instantly welled up with tears, and teardrops fell down her cheeks one by one.

Shang Lu had spent a sleepless night. At this moment, exhaustion was evident on her face, and her helpless posture sitting on the ground was like an abandoned doll.

She was a withered rose, a doll that could be easily toyed with, a machine that had lived her whole life according to her parents’ commands.

Han Cheng and the screenwriter exchanged a glance.

Both of them simultaneously realized that they had completely underestimated Shang Lu’s acting skills before her performance, especially her emotional impact, which was much stronger than they had imagined, surpassing most actors in the entertainment industry.

It was as if she wasn’t acting, as if she had suddenly become the character.

“Everyone says you love me, but I know that you only love the daughter who can bring you glory, not the real me.” Shang Lu’s eyes still held tears that hadn’t fallen. She slowly stood up from the ground, looked at her parents in front of her, and continued, “I don’t know if I should exist in this world, but regardless, it’s not something I can choose. I have fantasized countless times about gaining your love and have tried hard to change for it. But later, I realized that everything was predetermined from the moment I was born, something I couldn’t change no matter how hard I tried.”

Shang Lu turned around and picked up a fruit knife from the cabinet. She wiped away her tears and calmed down. She smiled lightly and said, “Don’t be afraid, I just added something to the water glass, it’s not lethal.”

Because the real lethal thing was the knife in her hand.

Shanglu walked over and slowly crouched down, looking at “her parents who fell on the ground”. But then she covered her ears and closed her eyes.

Suddenly, she opened her eyes again and crazily stabbed the “knife” downwards.

Then she knelt on the ground, with her hands pressed against the ground on either side of her body, leaning down to look at the “parents” lying on the ground. There was a strong and almost crazed hatred in her eyes, but her voice, on the contrary, became very soft and hoarse. She said, “I tried my best, but I’m still the unworthy daughter in your hearts. I can never truly receive your love.

“Since that’s the case, then I don’t want it anymore.”

Finally, she looked down towards the audience, tilting her head slightly, her gaze seeming vacant.

Shanglu lowered her head and looked at her own palm, murmuring, “So much blood… so dirty. Will mom and dad be unhappy?”

Then she revealed a childlike and innocent smile, looking around as if a newborn baby facing the world for the first time, with boundless expectations for the future.

But when she looked beside her again and realized that everything had become a reality that couldn’t be undone, she covered her mouth and nose and burst into painful tears.

The crying scene of Shang Lu was exceptionally good.

In a short performance, Han Cheng unexpectedly felt amazed twice.

Her naturally beautiful face, like a flower of wealth and prosperity, appeared slightly tired, so her tears did not seem out of place. The reddened eye sockets and tears displayed a sense of brokenness to the extreme. Even the strands of hair on her face did not diminish her beauty at this moment; instead, they made people feel more sympathetic, unable to help but speculate what could make a person like her so sad.

Just by looking at her face, one could sense a profound story, which was a gift from heaven. Many actors envy this.

Han Cheng’s understanding of Shang Lu was originally limited to the exaggerated and artificial villainous images seen in annual eye-catching acting reviews. This was the first time he witnessed her true performance.

Her clear and calm eyes, though filled with tears of unwillingness, seemed to have finally seen through and accepted everything.

Finally, she swallowed sleeping pills and, while still conscious, used her sleeve to wipe the blood off “Mother’s” face.

After completing all of this, Shang Lu curled up on the ground. Although there were no other actors in the scene, just an empty space, anyone could see that Shang Lu reached out to touch her mother’s abdomen, trying her best to get closer to the position of the womb.

Because that was the doorway she entered this world through.

As if guided by some unseen force, Shang Lu softly called out, “Mom.”

She embraced “her mother” and closed her eyes completely.
