Chapter 578 A-Danger!

The constant lightning bolt stream slowly cracked Keng's shield as he dug his feet forward. Keng slowly made his way forward, grunting as he constantly focused on rebuilding the shield. The small cracks reformed, only to be replaced with a bit more damage.

The werewolf howled, raising its other hand as the lightning stream grew larger. Keng flew backwards, shield shattering in an instant as lightning him. Keng slammed onto the ground, lightning crackling across his body. A groan escaped his lips as he tried to push himself up.

The caster Werewolf raised its hand, releasing a bolt of lightning into the air. The lightning hit the ceiling, turning into clouds. The storm grew quickly as wind and rain began to whip around. Keng groaned, pushing himself onto his feet. The werewolf lifted up into the air, staring down at Keng.

"You should've just died, Fox Spirit." The Werewolf spoke. Keng's eyes widened. It's speech was rough like it was mimicking speech. Lightning crackled behind it, lighting the back up as it eyed the cosmic barrier. "Maybe I'll make her go first."

"No!" Keng rushed forward as the Werewolf chuckled. Lightning coursed through the caster's fingers as they raised their hand towards Keng. A white glyph appeared behind the Werewolf as it released the bolt.

The blast of lightning hit the spot like the Caster wanted, but it didn't seem to find its target. The Caster looked towards the starry barrier. It swirled, unchanging.

'Where did the Fox go?' The Caster wondered. Lightning sparked behind it, turning to block the dagger pointed at it. Keng bared his teeth, grunting as he tried to push the dagger into the Caster.

"Hmph." Caster smiled, baring its fangs. The werewolf flicked, sending a bolt of lightning from the sky at Keng. Keng flew straight into the wall, embedding the wall with his body print as he slid downwards. With a hard thud, the Werewolf cackled. Magical darkness swirled around it as the clouds thickened.

The Caster wolf began to chant in growls and grunts. The elements swirling around them as Keng pulled himself up. Rocks spilled as Keng lifted himself onto his feet. Lightning crackled as the burn of flesh sizzled. His hand wrapped around the air, summoning Hydrosphere to him as he waved it over him. The dust and blood swept off of him as the water spilled onto the ground.

[Resonance is becoming unstable.]

"Tch." Keng clicked his tongue. His head slowly rose to look at the wolf, whisker marks growing on him as his pupils seemed to sharpen. Keng's tails whipped wildly behind him, slamming into the wall as the Caster smiled at him.

"You are dead, Fox!" The Caster announced. "Crumbling Ruin." The clouds and darkness flew into the Caster, swallowing it. Cracks of lightning whipped out in every direction. An annoying buzzing noise cracked through the air as a ball of lightning flew straight for Keng.

"Resonance Art…" Keng quietly mumbled. His wounds burned away, healing in an instant as his grip tightened around the daggers. "Luminos Fury Wave." Hydrosphere grew into the size of short swords. They burned in pure light as they flickered through the air. Keng appeared in front of the ball, slashing at it as a bolt of lightning flew out at him.

The blade of pure light slashed through lightning, pulling the lightning into it as the light slashed through the ball.

"Argh!" Keng grunted as the strike revealed the Caster wolf. The wolf shouted back, throwing a slash of its own out at Keng. Keng threw his arms up, lighting up in smoke.

Caster flew backwards, pulling out of the smoke as it kept its arms up. The veil slowly pulled around it, covering its face. The Caster's eyes watched the smoke. They watched for the Fox. A flash of light flew at them. They barely managed to dodge it as an angry Fox appeared in front of them with their hand on the blade.

[Marked for Death has been triggered.]

The blade swung right, pulling the veil away as the blade crackled. The wolf blinked off to the right, Keng wasting no time, swung the blade of light at the Caster. The Caster deflected with a crackling shield, watching it shatter as they continued to throw shields up.

'They were far weaker before.' The Caster thought to themselves. 'Why is this Fox so much stronger now?' A bolt of lightning fired off its fingertips, landing a hit against Keng's shoulder, turning his body left.

Keng growled, blades of light crackling louder as they began to grow larger. He swung forward, missing the Caster as the Caster blinked behind him. Keng whipped around, tossing the blade straight for the Caster. Keng appeared at the blade, slashing at the Wolf as it continued to blink around the room. The two went at it as Hydrosphere grew larger.

Keng growled louder as the blades merged with his arms. His body lit up in pure light, burning the darkness away as Keng grew faster. Bolts of lightning and light fired at each other as Keng blinked across the sky. A mark of Silver light appeared at the other side of the wall, Keng quickly displacing himself as he launched himself straight for the Werewolf.

The werewolf turned, starting to cast Blink when Keng slammed into the wolf, sending them crashing into the ground as the light suddenly disappeared.

Loud breaths echoed as the Caster's veil fell. It patted itself, checking to see if what had happened really happened. Awkward laughs filled the room as tears welled up in the Caster's eyes. It's body was barely hurt, but the burning look the Fox gave it had a lasting impression on it.

"That… That was… Close." Its eyes moved onto the barrier. It was brighter than Caster remembered. It stood up, collecting itself as it wiped the tears away. It's chest hurt from the forced laughter, but now it just wanted to kill something. "Hungry." It staggered forward towards the girl. It raised its arm out, lightning crackling as it slowly pointed it at the barrier.

Lightning began to fly out of its fingertips when its hand pulled the strike away.

'W-what was that?' Caster looked at its hands. Its left hand clamped down on its right arm, holding it in place.

"My arm won't… move." Caster grunted. The furless Werewolf tried with all of its might to pull free from its own grasp. "What's going on?!?" It's left hand grasped harder, pushing the hand down to its side. "Mo— AGH!"

Blood spilled from the Caster's mouth as its eyes shook. A bright light blade poked out of its chest. Another blade flew through its stomach as blood spilled. Caster coughed as it stumbled forward. Blades of lights erupted out of its body as wisps flew past it.

"What is… this…?" Caster whispered. The wisps clumped together, forming a body as a blade of light grew in its left hand. "No… Y-you… No!" The blade of light flew straight for the heart, only to meet the shoulder of the Caster wolf. The wisps fluttered away, revealing Keng as only three tails appeared behind him.

"An A-ranking monster." Keng spoke in Werewolf. The Caster's eyes grew wide. Keng smiled, taking a step forward. "You thought it was over for me? I guess you haven't fought too many Fox Spirits…" He leaned in and whispered in the Werewolf's ear, "I guess that's a shame."

Caster watched as the three tails disappeared. A blade erupted out of its other shoulder as another one erupted out of its leg. It buckled, falling as Keng waved. The last blade of light fired through its chest, immediately killing the Furless Wolf.

[1 Alpha, 1 Omega and 1 Lightning Omega Furless Wolf has been slain! A reduced amount of 1,500 souls have been added! Lily's boost has increased it to 2,750 for a total of 8,621/10,000 souls!]

The light faded from Keng's body as his tails appeared behind him. His eyes blurred as his body hit the ground.

Some time later…

The cavern lit up as Calis raised the sphere of water into the air. Heavy breaths echoed as his human form came to a stop. Lily was the first one he noticed. He rushed over to Lily, kneeling down as the sphere of water flew upwards. He moved his hand to check her pulse.

"Alive." Calis sighed in relief. His eyes darted around the shadows. "Where's the other one?" He stood up, moving the sphere of water in front of him. The remnants of a fight were apparent to Calis. Dent marks, crushed stone, and even singed marks. "What happened here?"

He stopped in his place when he saw it. A white Fox laid in front of him and in front of it was a Furless Werewolf.

"You encountered one of them… And fought them…" Calis whispered in Merfolk to himself. He moved over to the white Fox and checked for a pulse. The pulse was faint, but the air was permeated with burning. "What happened here? Why do you smell like you've been burnt to a crisp when you are fine?"
