Looked like it really was over. I was wary that Vortigern would pull out another body with [Surprise☆! The puppet is a fake too!], but thankfully, Vortigern wasn’t that big of a jerk.

After I saw them off, another message window appeared in front of me.

I honestly thought I wouldn’t have been able to, given that I had beaten him with a party.
I did tame ‘Atlach-Nacha’ when I had partied up with Korin, but back then Korin didn’t do any damage to ‘Atlach-Nacha’ herself.
This time the others did substantial damage to the boss, so I didn’t expect anything. It was a really pleasant surprise.

Vortigern controlled an invincible puppet army. He might be annoying as an enemy, but he’d be very reliable as an ally.
