Chapter 145 - Custom Battle Room 777 (3)

Every spectator could not hide their shock from this unprecedented gameplay that Sofia had shown them. Who would have thought that it would be an astounding combination of skills? If they had known that this is how the summoner's skill set was, they had surely not ignored this character!

Just then, CEO UNRIVALED had already used her first, second, and third skills. She was attacking the NPC monster using her passive attack.

"The summoner character is not bad! In this kind of skill, it would be pretty op in the late game! The first skill is buffed of movement, then, second is another way of moving to a different location! It would be hard to catch or kill the summoner!"

"Speed, teleport, stun, and... Wow! The ultimate is an AoE giant seed bomb! What a broken combination of skills! It's like from a two different characters merged in one!"

"So, the earth mage is actually this awesome! I should try to practice using it next time!"

No matter which angle they consider, their blood boiled with eagerness trying to imagine their own gameplays.

All spectators were full of enthusiasm as they observed CEO UNRIVALED rotating from the middle lane towards the bottom lane. They started to wonder how great the summoner would be if they play it in their match too.

After few seconds of surprise and amusement from what they had witnessed, they switched their focus to Krista19.

On the top lane, Krista19 finally moved her character and also chose mage as a role to focus on.

"Cool!" she exclaimed after seeing the transformation of her character's appearance and become the earth mage.

This was also her first time playing the character. Somehow, she felt uneasy with the recent discovery about role focus.

"Okay, so now, I become a mage," Krista19 mumbled and started reading the description of the available skills for her character.

The more she read the skills, she felt a little confused. Whenever she stream, most of her viewers would usually suggest to her how to play a character that is new to her.

At that point, she slightly panicked and felt scared. Upon reading the skill details, she could not imagine a combo on her head.

"Stun, then.... ultimate, then the first skill to escape. But what is this second skill for? Throw a seed for what?" she started creating a combo attack on her mind while mumbling loudly the plans that she had thought.  Her eyes darted from every button of the skills with full of concentration.

"Why do I felt a little bit frightened? I'm more adept at playing, what is there to be scared of? CEO UNRIVALED only play a tank role in the past. I have seen her history. All matches were played on the same role and character. So, this means she does not know about this earth mage too!" she muttered to herself, trying to console the uneasiness she felt.

Krista19 fully assumed that she and Sofia would have a fair share of zero experience in this character. Therefore, she could easily find a way to trample Sofia. Defeating an inexperienced enemy would be too easy.

But, all her optimistic assumptions were shattered after the notification sound of the game informing her that the initial defense tower of her territory in the bottom lane was under attack.

CEO UNRIVALED was able to clear the wave of creeps in the middle lane and bottom lane while Krista19 was stuck in the top lane, planning her attack strategy, The mini seconds of her pause was still crucial as her opponent was already grinding to level up.

She promptly checked the character stats. And to her surprise, she was left by a large margin of gap!

CEO UNRIVALED had already reached level 6, while her character was only level 4!

On top of it, her opponent had gotten two items in the inventory panel. Meanwhile, she only had one item and some fragments to form the second build.

"H-how could it be? What did she do to gather this much exp level and gold earnings quickly? Is this a cheat? After all, she was the one who set up the battle room!" Krista19 angrily questioned while glaring at her phone. She could not believe that their gap was getting larger by a margin, she directly accused her enemy of using a cheat.

She refused to admit that she was too complacent and did not expect the abnormal growth level of her enemy. If she was not lagging her movement and chose the role to focus swiftly, she would have noticed the movement of Sofia.

Now, the real panic started to tug on her chest, trying to shake her confidence and optimism in winning.

"I must grind in the jungle!" Krista19 quickly reflected on her next move. Farming was her only way to catch up and break the gap of their character.

After she killed the last creeps of Sofia's allies in the top lane, her character moved directly to her jungle territory and started attacking the NPC monsters.

Back on the middle lane, CEO UNRIVALED started to march and joined her creeps in attacking the initial tower defense of the enemy.  Now, her creeps had gained the advantage of advancing forward from both the middle lane and bottom lane.

However, her top lane was also at a disadvantage. Luckily for her, Krista19 did not pursue and push at the top lane. Instead, Sofia caught her movement on the map heading to the jungle area.

This decision of her opponent gave Sofia the window to defend her top lane too.

Minutes passed and the timer of their match moved to six minutes. However, there was no direct confrontation between the two players yet. Their rotation had started to bore their spectators too.

"They are not fighting? It's already more than six minutes," one of the spectators complained impatiently.

A match with fewer fights was really not that entertaining to watch. In cases of custom battle or other game modes, mostly, after the characters obtained their ultimate skills, they would be ready to provoke and contest their opponents.

The showdown of skills with no retreat until only one would survive was what the spectators were waiting for.

But each side was not even harassing the enemy. They were all defensive and stay on their jungle to farm.

"Could it be that they are waiting to possess a full build?" another spectator started to realize what the two players were doing. Since both parties did not initiate any attack, this was the only reason why these players continued to farm.

Full build! This would be the time that the character could maximize its ability and inflict high damage... If such would be the case, then, they had to wait for another minute for the players to really fight.

Sofia's fingers turned mechanical while her eyes were focused on her mobile screen, almost not blinking.

She dragged her left thumb from side to side, as her character was going in different directions. The right thumb pressing the skill buttons to attack the creeps or jungle monsters.

Stephen looked up and watched as Sofia comfortably stretched her legs on the carpeted floor. He leaned forward and adjusted his position to see her screen.

"Summoner?" Stephen asked. Their elbows made a light contact causing a warm and tingling sensation.

Sofia instantly straightened as she also felt something unknown moved within her chest.

"Yeah, I read the details about the summoner character, I think, I'll be able to play with this... just in case my tank will be banned by our future opponents," Sofia stated.

Stephen grabbed a throw pillow that was sitting on the sofa and placed it near Sofia's head. "This sitting position will hurt your shoulder," he gently said.

"Oh, thanks, Steph! Are you done with the activities you are doing? Do you need help?" Sofia whispered and placed the throw pillow on the back of her neck.

In fact, Stephen was just observing in his peripheral vision. And when he noticed that only Sofia's hands were moving for quite a while, he paused his paperwork and took the initiative to examine what he was doing.

He had already suspected that she was in-game due to the little movements and amount of focus in her phone.

"I'm far from done. But, let me watch you play summoner first," Stephen said and took a sip of his coffee. He had put down the paper and pen in his hand and trained his eyes to Sofia's character.

"Ohh, it's just an experiment. I had roughly understood how to use the skills in theory. So, checking if it was applicable in the battlefield," Sofia admitted.

"Why summoner though?" Stephen directly asked. This question was also the mystery that the spectators and Krista19 wanted to uncover. Why not other characters that were more popular to the audience and relatable?

"I like it. This character is unpredictable. Look," Sofia said. Then, she demonstrated her combo of second skill + first skill + third skill in one go.

On her screen, the earth mage's earlier actions were repeated for Stephen to see.

The character dropped a seed on the ground. Then, as the first skill was activated, the mage sprinted to the location of an NPC monster and stunned it in the process.

Sofia pressed the second skill again and her mage teleported to the location of the skin right away.

"Wow! Nice! So, that's how a summoner is played," Stephen praised unable to conceal his suprised expression.

"Yes, so this is the mage summoner. Then, the support summoner is also a different skill set. This character is pretty nice for me," Sofia smiled but did not look up.

In her mind, if her usual tank  character would be ban in banning mode, the summoner earth mage was closest to her gameplay.
