Chapter 131 - 131 - Refueling

The next day they started their journey back to G city. On the way out, Yue glanced at the coup. "Juda see if you can take that chicken."

She shook her head. "My space ability just won't work with living things."

"That's a bummer," Yue opened the coup to say his final goodbyes but what he saw inside shocked him.

The white chicken was standing there with its feathers up, there was a black cat in front of it hissing with a egg in its mouth.

"I think I found our egg thief."

The cat snapped towards him instantly. "Meow~" with his mouthful it ran to him and clung to his pants.

Yue slightly frowned. "hey kitten, weren't you the one we saw in that apartment?"

"Meow...." it easily climbed on top of him like a tree and dropped the egg in his palm.

"For me?"

The little cat nuzzled against his chest.

Juda came in. "hey aren't you that cutie? Did you follow us here?"

The cat jumped onto Juda's shoulders, laying there casually.

"I guess we are taking her."

"Juda it's not good to travel with a cat. It might be an inconvenience,"

"Nonsense, she can fend for herself. Right little kitty?"

"Meow...." the cat happily cuddled against her neck.

Yue sighed.

The reason he did not pick up the animals was because he was still scared of the possibility that the second meteor might appear sooner than expected.

If so the animals, plants... everything. Everything will become a dangerous predator.

His brown eyes peered at the small animal. 'Will this cat become our friend or our foe?'

"Sigh, you can take her but if she exhibits any sign of virus infection I will put her down,"

Juda closed the cat's ears with a slight glare. "You can't say that in front of her."

"Juda...."

"fine I agree. But we have to take the chicken too,"

Zou Yue just stood there in front of her with his arms tied up. "Chickens are noisy,"

"We already make so much clatter thanks to our bikes." She held up the chicken cutely. "chickens make eggs."

He couldn't fight that argument. "Gosh, why are you so good at arguing?"

Juda happily ran into the coup and lifted the chicken up. "I would have you know that I was the debate captain for a very long time."

Lui laughed out loud. "Don't even try. You won't win the argument,"

Yue shook his head. "Girls are hard to win over,"

He glanced at the single motorcycle. "I saw a jeep up ahead. Well take that,"

"Won't it be difficult travelling in such a big vehicle?" Lui worriedly peered at him.

"It will be, but since we are going through rural villages and towns. the roads might be clear." He wore his coat and tied up his undone shoelaces.

Juda walked close with a huge tote bag in hand. Inside were two creatures, black and white. The black cat cutely purred at him while the white chicken glared at him intently.

"Juda wear protective clothes. Any area exposed should be covered up, your neck, her hands, legs. Everything."

Juda frowned slightly. "Why now? I didn't wear any while we were travelling here?"

"Tian is weak now. We won't be able to fight as efficiently as before, so you need to fend for yourself a bit." he felt slightly guilty saying this. He was the one who suggested that they come along but now he could not take care of them.

Hesitantly, he glanced at her. To his surprised she was smiling dazzlingly.

"Aren't you upset?"

"No, why should I be? I have guns to fend for myself. Plus, I think my kicks and punches are becoming more efficient. Don't you say so Tian?" she pulled Yue to the side, gazing at Tian.

Tian just looked at her, unblinking.

"Oh come on, I am getting better, right?"

"We have to go," she awkwardly patted Yue and trotted towards the road.

Yue weirdly looked at his sister. Her ears were blushing red. 'Hey would you look at that. Looks like she remembers what happened.'

Juda pouted. "Jeez, I guess I should dope her to get the truth out of her,"

"Don't you dare dope me," Tian suddenly shouted out loud.

"Okay okay I won't,"

Tian gritted her teeth loudly.

"Tian, what's wrong?" Yue held her hands, but she flicked it off.

"Just leave me alone," she walked ahead without waiting for them.

Juda frowned. "Did I say something wrong? I feel like she got triggered by the words dope."

Yue looked at her, then at Tian. In fact, this was the second time Tian has reacted this way. The first time was in that hotel room when she came barging in, accusing him of doping her.

'Why.... was she doped before? Did someone hurt her?'

His mind raced, thinking of all the scenarios.

'Thinking and assuming is not doing any good. I'll ask her myself,' he ran after her. "Guys, follow us in a distance, okay."

"Tian," he shouted.

She paused, glancing back slightly.

Yue held her hands softly. "Is there something wrong? Did I do something, say something?"

"n-no," she nervously glanced at her foot. "Never give me pain meds. Never! Got it,"

Yue nodded. "c-can you tell me why?"

"Not now.. I don't wish to remember that." her hands tremble slightly.

Yue pulled her into a tight hug. "Tell me when you are ready. I'll wait for you,"

She hugged him back for the first time, holding the back of his waist. "I did not live a peaceful life... often times it comes back to haunt me....."

He tightened his grip on her.

"I'll tell you all when I'm ready. So please wait....."

"I'll wait as long as you want," Yue mumbled, kissing her cheek softly.

She flinched back slightly, but let him hug her. Sniffing, she moved back. "We are kind of in a zombie land. So.... let's get moving,"

"ay ay captain~" he saluted.

"Don't be silly," Tian smacked him and walked away.

The jeep was in the exact spot they saw smack in between three vehicles.

"Check if there are any keys,"

Tian went in but the keys were not there.

"Come out a bit," Yue climbed in and hot-wired the car. It took him about ten minutes to get it started up.

The first things he checked were the windows and the fuel.

The windows were not automatic, and we had to physically roll them up. As for the fuel tank, it was half full.

"Tian, let's fill the fuel,"

Taking fuel out of vehicles was an easy task. All they needed was a tube of some sorts.

Yue actually found a garden hose on that farm. He cut a long piece of it and asked Juda to store it in her space.

"Where is our doremon?"

"I'm here~" Juda happily got down on the bike and ran to them. "What shall you need, my prince? This fairy godmother can grand you all the things you need,"

Yue chuckled. "A garden hose,"

Juda just waved her hands and the garden hose appeared in her hand. "This never gets old,"

"Thanks," he went to drain the fuel.

Juda and Tian just looked at each other.

"I'm sorry." Tian whispered softly.

"It's okay... how's your head?" she reached out but Tian stepped back, keeping at least a hand's distance from her.

Juda frowned. "Why are you running away?"

"I-I'm not running away."

Juda stepped forward, standing right in front of her. There was a significant height difference. Tian was five foot seven taller than Yue and Juda was just five foot two.

She looked p at her, gazing into her hazel eyes. "Why are you backing away?"

Tian silently looked at her face.

"Tian, do you remember what happened yesterday?"

"...." she looked at the ground, refusing to meet her eyes.

Juda gently gripped her chin and kissed her tender lips. "I always pay back what I'm given. This is your part."

Tian stood there softly, panting.

Juda backed away. "Think about what you feel about me. Let me know when you are ready. And hey, I will get strong. Just watch me improve."

She got into the car and started cleaning the blood stains off the seats.

Tian Ai watched her unblinking, touching her lips with her finger tip.

"wowsers, was that your first kiss?"

She flinched slightly. "Weren't you filling the fuel tank?" glaring she walked away.

"I needed a bottle,"

Juda searched in her space. Few water bottles came out into her hands. "I'll help as well,"

they joined force and emptied the cars that were close by. In a few minutes they were able to fill up at least a twenty or so fifty ml bottle.

"This is more than enough to drive us back home," Yue happily whispered, swishing the can of fuel.

"Give that here," Tian took it for him and filled up their tank. "Don't play around too much. The zombies might hear us,"

"yep yep…."
