Chapter 297 297 - Saving Trexa

Fan Xui looked at his limp lover in shock. "save him! do something!" he shouted peering at the rat. It was puking blood and fainted.

"It's a poison of some sort! Quick Fan we need to take him to the hospital!' Tian hurriedly patted his back.

Fan came back to reality quickly. he lifted Yue on his back and ran.

He ran as fast as he could towards the barracks. He frantically placed Yue on the bed. "doctor! Doctor!!!" he screamed.

The half-dazed doctor came to him in a hurry. "Did he get bit?"

"No, he was poisoned. He is unresponsive," panting Tian whispered.

The doctor gave him a check. "he doesn't look like he was poisoned though..." he placed a hand under his head to feel for any injuries.

His hair was wet, but there was no open wound.

The patient was responding well, and it looks like it was not a very bad case of poisoning.

"I'll pump his stomach just for assurance."

Fan Xui stood like a statue watching the doctor shove a tube into Yue's mouth.

"Fan," Tian tapped on his shoulders. "give him space to work. Come sit."

"No he is in that state how can I bear to sit. I have to be close. I have to be,"

"Fan!"

Tian patted his cheeks hard. "you are disrupting the doctor's work. You heard him. It's just a small case of poisoning..." sighing she looked at her blood-stained hand.

Trexa was silently moaning in her pocket.

"Where is your friend? Qian?"

As of now, they did not have a vet here. she was not sure why Trexa was spitting out blood either. There must be something wrong with her body for sure.

"He's is at his father's place. you.. you can see Prisitsky. I'll stay here,"

Tian threw one worried glance back at Yue before running out of there.

The third-floor basement was the research labs. She was very much reluctant to leave Trexa there with that crazy scientist but she had no choice now.

Trexa was in a very bad state.

Running to the research lab, she knocked loudly. "Prisitsky! Prisitsky!"

"What?" he opened the door with a bored look on his face.

"You have to save her," she held out Trexa.

Prisitsky arranged his glasses over his nose and frowned. "a rat?"

"Not just any rat. She is my sister. Now treat her." she held a gun to his head. "do it now!"

"Whoa, you can ask nicely. Come in,"

Tina gently placed Trexa on a cold table.

"What happened to her?"

"She spat out blood and collapsed."

"Okay... it could possibly be porphyrin. They have a secretion that looks so much like blood," he swapped the blood from her cheeks. "well it is blood." He pried open her mouth and sintered a swap in.

Trexa trembled and tried to run away.

Tian had a firm hold, on her. "It's okay. It's okay. Just a small swap. It's going to be all right okay.." she gently caressed her head.

Trexa was in visibly pain.

"There are no cuts in her mouth or tongue... why is she.. Maybe she has lungworm?"

"Why are you using so many maybe? Aren't you a  doctor? Don't you know what you are doing?"

"um it's my Ph.D. I'm not an actual doctor. I'm only able to asses so much became I deal with rats on a constant basis. They get sick a lot you know. She looked about three or four years old... maybe she is at the end of her life."

Tian slammed the table. "No more maybe's I want an answer! Cure her now!"

"I can only try," he mumbled. "Steroid shots can help. If it is lungworm." He prepared the injection.

Trexa suddenly woke up screeching loudly. She tried to squirm her way out.

Tian held her gently as possible. "Hey it's okay. It's okay. We don't hurt you. It's just medicine. You're sick. It's okay. It will make the pain go away..."

Trexa sniffled. There were actual tears dripping down her face. it was slightly tinted red.

"Trexa don't cry. I won't let anything happen to you. You are my sister!" Tian shouted.

Trexa hesitantly peered up at her.

"I promise. I will kill this man before he put his scabby hands on him,"'

"Excuse me. Why do I have scabby hands?"

"Just cure her!"

"Geez, woman." Prisitsky tsked and injected her.

Trexa flinched, but she did not try to run away.

"There, all good. She will get better. But Tian I am telling the truth. She is an old rat. They get sick a lot and there is a high chance she might."'

Tian smacked his mouth. "Don't you dare say anything bad?"

"First of all, ow! That hurts. Why do you have to use violence?!" Prisitsky caressed his pink mouth. "Secondly I'm right. I have dealt with rats. You can fight me all you want but they don't last more than three. It's the true fact."

Tian gritted her teeth. "I'm looking for a miracle."

Prisitsky scoffed. "Miracle. Really? It's childish thought. There are no miracles Tian. Only science." He shook his small beaker full of Trexa's blood. "Keep her under observation. If anything's wrong bring her back. Now I have work to do,"

Tian gently picked Trexa in her hand. The little rat was very lethargic. "She is okay, right?"

"For now,"

Tian glared at him.

"Again with the glaring. Smile please. You have a very pleasing face you have to..."

While he was speaking Tian stormed out of the lab.

"Youngsters these days are so rude," he closed the door and continued on with his research.

It was going nowhere. The plant mutation was going out of control all outside the base.

But inside no mutant plants grew.

It was particularly because he stole all the meteor rocks.

Guiltily he glanced at the small pile of black rocks he kept on his table.

"No, it's not because of that. there must be something else," he threw himself into work again.
