CH 185

Tremble…!

Siegfried had to exert superhuman strength to suppress the anger welling up inside of him, thanks to Wagon’s big mouth.

‘Hold it in… Hold it in… It’s not the right time. We have to get out of this dungeon first…’ he told himself again and again while suppressing the anger raging in his abdomen.

“So, how many did you have to fuck to become a king, bro? A hundred? Five hundred? I haven’t even screwed a hundred, bro!”

“…”

“Come on! Let me in on your secret, bro!”

Wagon continued talking without realizing that Siegfried was suppressing the desire to crack his skull open.

“Wow! Hey, friends! Are you watching? My fan came to save me! This awesome cool Korean guy! Look at him! He’s a king! A king!”

Wagon even introduced Siegfried to his viewers.

“Just—I should just kill him right now…” Siegfried muttered.

“O-Owner punk! Don’t do it!” Hamchi hurriedly tried to stop him.

“Hmm? Are you arguing with your pet, bro?” Wagon asked.

“Ah, it’s nothing, hahaha… hahaha!” Siegfried awkwardly laughed in response while thinking, ‘I will crush those soon. I swear.’

Siegfried’s eyes were focused between Wagon’s legs where a bulge could be found.

Siegfried had this powerful urge of wanting to smash his hammer into that bulge.

“Where are you looking right now, bro?”

“Huh?”

“Why are you looking at my goods so intently? Don’t tell me… you…”

“No…”

“You better forget about it if that’s the case, bro. I’m not homophobic, but I don’t like men. My personal preference will always be women…”

“I said it’s not that, fucker,” Siegfried ended up cursing, but he immediately covered it up by adding, “I looked at it because it looks so healthy, and I got jealous. Don’t start overthinking.”

“Aha~! I see, so that’s what it was! That explains it! I guess I’m quite~ blessed~ down there! Hahaha!”

“…Fucker.” Siegfried cursed under his breath.

“Huh?”

“Ah, it’s nothing. Don’t mind me,” Siegfried hurriedly said while waving his hand.

Then, he immediately turned around. He thought that he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from killing Wagon before clearing the dungeon if he continued looking at Wagon’s smug face.

‘Patience… Let’s be patient… Clearing this dungeon comes first. I have to earn his trust first and then take him back after we clear the dungeon. Things will get complicated if I were to kill him right now,’ Siegfried reiterated in his head again and again.

For the first time in his life, he felt like he didn’t want to complete a quest.

Siegfried ended up going through all sorts of hardships and difficulties at the Cursed Winter Forest with Wagon. The Dimensional Rift required the cooperation of a party for it to be completed, but only the two of them were in here.

‘Why the hell did this guy decide to come here alone?’ Siegfried wondered if there was any reason behind Wagon’s decision.

“Ah, that? No reason, to be honest. I just wanted to test out how good I was in difficult dungeons. That’s all,” Wagon replied.

“…”

“Unfortunately, it was too difficult. Hahaha!”

It seemed that this guy’s brain only worked while he was seducing and flirting with women.

‘Sigh…’

However, what really made things difficult for Siegfried was none other than Wagon’s unending chatter.

“Hey, bro! How do you usually approach women? Do you use your pet as bait? Using your pet to approach women is a very traditional yet effective method!”

“How many girls have you seduced so far?”

“How much do you pay for adult content? I found out that you get discounts the higher your title level becomes!”

“Wow! You’re strong!”

“Hold up! Come to think of it… You’re a king, right? Don’t tell me… Are you the guy who won the World’s Greatest Survival Tournament? The first gamer to become a king?”

Siegfried couldn’t understand why an attractive beauty like Julianne fell for an imbecile like this moron.

[Alert: You have reached Level 196!]

[Alert: You have reached Level 197!]

Siegfried finally reached Level 197 after killing the mid-boss. He decided to sit Wagon down and talk about Julianne. He figured that it was about time for him to address the elephant in the room now that Wagon had seen what he was capable of doing.

“Hey, Wagon,” Siegfried said.

“Hmm?”

“To be honest, I’m not your fan.”

“What?! You’re not my fan?!”

“I have something to talk about with you, so switch the stream off.”

“Is that so? All right, I’ll close it for a while.”

Siegfried went to the point after confirming that Wagon had turned his stream off.

“Do you know Julianne?” he asked.

Wagon tilted his head in confusion and replied, “Julianne? Who’s that?”

“…”

“Who’s that…?”

Siegfried felt the urge to commit murder once again, but he decided to suppress it with superhuman willpower. Then, he explained what happened to Wagon, but of course, he removed most of the details.

“Ah! Seventy-three sent you!” Wagon exclaimed.

“Seventy-three…?” Siegfried muttered in confusion.

“I mean, how am I supposed to remember all their names? I just assign a number to each of them,” Wagon explained with a shrug.

“…”

“So you’re telling me that… you will help me get out of this dungeon. In exchange, I have to apologize to that girl, am I right?”

“Yes.”

“Sure.”

“What?!”

“I mean, apologizing is not that difficult, anyway. You just want me to make sure she doesn’t get hurt, right? I’m not sure if that’s completely possible, but I’ll give it a try,” Wagon said with a shrug.

“…”

“But don’t ask me to take responsibility for the kid and start being a father. I have no plans to look after some NPCs. Understand?”

“All right, that’s a deal.”

Surprisingly, Wagon easily accepted Siegfried’s offer.

“Well, apologizing once and getting out of here is much better than staying stuck here for weeks, right?”

Wagon didn’t seem to have any emotional burden in apologizing to Julianne.

Well, that was probably the reason he could live as human trash.

“But it’s truly a shame. I thought you were my fan and we were kindred spirits, but why aren’t you my fan? I mean, you have an identical title to mine…”

“No…” Siegfried strongly rejected the notion and said, “I didn’t get this title intentionally, and I’m different from a degenerate like you who lives only for adult content.”

“Hmm? What do you mean?”

“Anyway, we have a deal, so let’s hurry up and kill the boss. By the way, I’m going to say this one more time—we’re not kindred spirits,” Siegfried emphasized once again.

[Alert: You have reached Level 198!]

[Alert: You have reached Level 199!]

[Alert: You have one level remaining before your next skill(s) are unlocked!]

Two days later, Siegfried could now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

His journey with the annoying Wagon was about to end now that he was Level 199.

They were fighting the boss monster of the Cursed Winter Forest—the Frozen King.

It had taken them nearly an hour to reduce the boss monster’s HP to a few percent.

‘All right, it’s time to deal the final blow and put an end to this,’ Siegfried thought.

He prepared to deal the coup de grace to the boss monster.

Click… Clack!

However, the bullets that were keeping the Frozen King at bay suddenly flew to the back of Siegfried’s head.

“Your usefulness has run out, yellow monkey! Goodbye! Bang!” Wagon exclaimed.

Bang!

His rifle’s nozzle spat fire.

“Hehe! There’s no way I’m going to honor a promise I had made with a monkey. I guess it’s time for me to kill the boss and collect the item you dropped… huh?” Wagon trailed off and doubted his eyes.

Sseuk…

The thick cloud of smoke emitted by his rifle dissipated, but the result wasn’t what he had been expecting. What came into his view was a red cape, and he was certain that it was the cape that had been fluttering on Siegfried’s back.

“Don’t tell me…” Wagon raised the infamous death flag.

Chwaaak!

The red cape, rather, the Blood Butterfly’s Wings, flew at the speed of light.

Thud… Clack!

A slab of meat and a piece of metal fell to the ground.

Fwaaaaaaaa!

Then, a fountain of blood spurted out from Wagon’s right shoulder.

The perfect combination between offense and defense!

The artifact crafted by the Hometown of Death—Blood Butterfly’s Wings—was truly an outstanding piece of workmanship.

“M-My arm!” Wagon cried out.

“It’s time for you to die, fucker,” Siegfried said. He looked down at his prey with cold eyes and called out. “Hey.”

“K—Keuh…!” Wagon grimaced in pain.

Siegfried’s Quick Draw had severed his right arm.

“Do you really think that this is my first day playing this game?” Siegfried asked.

“You fucking yellow monkey…!” Wagon growled in response.

“No wonder talks were proceeding too smoothly,” Hamchi said. He stepped out and kicked Wagon’s head while shouting, “How dare you try to double-cross us! Kyu!”

Hamchi then stepped on Wagon’s head and shouted at Siegfried, “Hey, owner punk! Hamchi’s going to take care of this piece of trash, so go ahead and focus on that abomination!”

“Okay!” Siegfried replied.

He turned his attention toward the boss monster. His cape fluttered once more, and the Frozen King’s head was split into four pieces.

[Alert: You have killed the boss monster, the Frozen King!]

[Alert: You have obtained experience points!]

[Alert: You have obtained the item Frozen Core!]

[Alert: You have obtained the item Return Stone!]

[Alert: The cooldown timer of the dungeon Dimensional Rift: Cursed Winter Forest has been reset!]

Siegfried obtained an orb that contained powerful water attribute energy and a Return Stone. He collected the items and walked toward Wagon. He pressed his hammer against Wagon’s prey’s nether region and said, “This is the root of all evil, right? This one.”

“Noooooooo!”

“I should probably make you stop using this from now on.”

“N-Not that…!”

“Let’s just do as I say, all right? Otherwise, I’m going to chase you down to the ends of the continent and keep mincing this precious meat of yours.”

“A-Alright…”

“Try pulling a fast one again; I dare you,” Siegfried warned.

Siegfried could confidently threaten Wagon because he was confident of his chances of beating Wagon if the two of them went head-to-head.

‘Let’s just go in peace so I can finally clear this damn quest…’ he grumbled inwardly and hoped that Wagon wouldn’t attempt to escape.

Meanwhile, the Ruin of Madness was finally quiet once more.

The number of people visiting the dungeon had been reduced to a mere handful.

The scuffle for the ark had ended, so the ruin returned to its eerily quiet nature.

The main reason Siegfried visited this ruin in the first place was that people rarely visited the place.

Most Adventurers would calculate the Experience Points they would stand to gain against the time they would have to invest, and they discovered that the Ruin of Madness wasn’t an efficient place to hunt unless one had a specific quest in the ruins.

Nevertheless, there were still a few Adventurers who frequented the Ruin of Madness.

“Wow… The Defense of the mobs here is crazy…”

“These damn monsters are so sturdy…”

“Yeah, but we just have to hunt down five hundred of them, so let’s hang in there.”

A party composed of people from different nationalities was chatting while going over their gear. They chatted while passing bottles of potions to each other to replenish their HP, Mana, and Stamina while waiting for their skills to go off cooldown.

Fsshwuu… Fsshwuu…

A strange sound suddenly came from the ceiling above them.

Sseu…

Then, white powder started falling from the ceiling.

“W-What’s this?!”

“Hey, what’s going on?!”

“Something’s strange…”

Brrr!

Rumbling noises could be heard in the distance as the entire dungeon started trembling.

Ddrruu… Baaam!

A minute later, the wall across where the Adventurers were camping collapsed with a loud explosion, and a tall man around a hundred and ninety centimeters emerged from the opening.

Chwaak!

The stone soldiers standing around fifty meters away from the Adventurers suddenly started moving, and they simultaneously shouted in a thundering voice.

“We greet the mighty and glorious emperor!”
