CH 241

Ten minutes ago, Siegfried successfully planted false information into the Genesis Guild by using SingSingHighschoolGirl against them, and he led around five hundred of his guild members toward the west entrance of the vineyard.

The western entrance of the vineyard had ten high-level Adventurers along with various monsters, mercenaries, and traps defending it.

‘Tsk… that’s quite a tight security,’ Siegfried clicked his tongue.

The Adventurers were at least Level 250, and they were powerful without a doubt judging by how they were equipped with +12 weapons and +10 armor on top of their levels.

There were quite a few high-leveled Adventurers on Siegfried’s side, but it was a bit of a stretch to call them powerful.

However, there was nothing strange about the Head Crusher Guild members being weak, as they wouldn’t have fallen victim to the Genesis Guild if they were powerful in the first place.

The Genesis Guild firmly stood by their motto of survival of the fittest, and they grew their guild until its present form by preying only on those who were weaker than them.

‘They’re strong, but…’ Siegfried’s eyes flashed while hiding behind the bushes. He smirked. ‘Will they be able to use their strength if they get hit before they even realize it?’

Adventurers and NPCs in this world were powerful beings that could channel mana to protect their bodies or nimbly evade attacks.

However, what if they were caught off guard when they were least expecting it? What if they unexpectedly got hit by an artillery barrage rather than skills or normal attacks?

‘There’s only one way to find out,’ Siegfried smiled sinisterly before sending a signal to Seung-Gu next to him.

Seung-Gu nodded in response and controlled the twenty-five Iron Golems he had already summoned in advance.

Whiiing… Click… Clack…!

A faint sound echoed, and the cannons on the twenty-five Iron Golem’s shoulders aimed at the western entrance of the vineyard.

The canons mounted on the Iron Golems’ shoulders were the newly developed weapons by the Proatine Kingdom’s military, and their destructiveness had already been tested.

Well, the Genesis Guild wouldn’t be aware of it.

“Hey, I think there’s something wrong with my hand today! I’m only drawing busts!”

“Just hurry up and shuffle the deck! Keke!”

“Ah… I think I’ll just fold this round.”

The high-level Adventurers guarding the vineyard entrance were completely engrossed in their card game known as Hardstone which utilized magical cards. Hardstone was a card game that the Adventurers in BNW often played whenever they were bored.

Siegfried showed three fingers to Seung-Gu. Then, he folded one to show two fingers, and then he folded another to show a single finger.

Lastly, he folded the last finger.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The cannons spat fire, and the barrage lasted for quite a while.

“W-Wow! Look at that!” Siegfried exclaimed when the barrage died down.

He was shocked by the destructiveness of the cannons. None of the Adventurers survived the barrage, and neither did any of the monsters. In addition, the artillery barrage ended up triggering the traps, and the traps killed those who survived the initial barrage.

However, Siegfried didn’t have the luxury of time to stand around and be in awe.

“Let’s go!” he immediately led his army and ran out from the bushes.

***

“Hurry up! Faster!” Siegfried urged his guild members.

It wasn’t difficult to destroy the vineyard. They could simply set it ablaze, uproot the trees, or crush the fruits that were ready to be harvested. However, the reason that a vineyard was able to generate the most revenue for the Genesis Guild was quite simple.

It was massive…

The Head Crusher Guild needed a lot of time to successfully lay waste to the entire vineyard that extended hundreds of thousands of hectares.

In the end, Siegfried decided to use Irradiate after not using it for a long time.

Sseuuuuk…!

Siegfried exuded a green fog that quickly pervaded the air around him. However, there was something strange about the Irradiate he was using this time around.

The Irradiate skill seemed to have become much more powerful, judging by the larger area that it was affecting and the density of the fog’s radioactive energy.

Of course, the skill was still not going to be effective against enemies with resistance against poison or was equipped with decent armor, but it was undeniably much more powerful than Siegfried’s Irradiate back then.

Perhaps that was the reason?

Thud…! Thud…! Thud…! Thud…!

Perhaps that was the reason why the grape vines started to wither and decay all the way down to their roots before helplessly falling to the ground.

‘It was the right call to consume the Dragon’s Heart,’ Siegfried smiled after remembering that he had eaten a few pieces of the Chromatic Dragon’s heart just a few days ago.

Unfortunately, the Chromatic Dragon’s heart was shattered into pieces after Deus struck it, but Siegfried was still able to significantly increase his mana after eating the leftovers.

In other words, his Irradiate’s range had increased, and its lethality had also been bolstered. Of course, it still consumed a lot of mana.

‘Hmm… It’s too dense just to destroy grape vines… I should reduce the density and increase the range,’ he thought before controlling his mana to adjust the green fog.

The green fog thinned, but its range grew larger.

Of course, he wouldn’t be able to deal much damage after diluting the green fog, but it was more than enough for him to destroy the grape vines. He didn’t need that much radioactive energy to destroy a single vine in the first place.

It was definitely a waste of mana to use Irradiate in this manner, but Siegfried smirked in satisfaction after seeing the damage he had caused to the grape vines.

‘Then, shall we start running around?’ he took a step forward before fully accelerating and running around the massive vineyard.

The rate at which the Head Crusher Guild was destroying the Genesis Guild’s vineyard could only be described as jaw-dropping.

Physical damage? Magic damage? The type of damage didn’t matter at all.

The Head Crusher Guild members unleashed whatever area-of-effect skills they had, and those without area-of-effect skills poured gasoline over the grape vines and set them ablaze.

Fwaaaah! Fwaaaah!

The blaze raged and devoured the grape vines.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Seung-Gu controlled his army of Iron Golems to shoot their cannons and inflict massive damage to not only the grape vines but to the land as well.

Fwaaaah! Fwaaaah! Fwaaaah!

It hadn’t even been twenty minutes since they arrived, but the vineyard spanning hundreds of thousands of hectares was already engulfed in a sea of flames, and the fire had become so big that it was near impossible to extinguish it through ordinary means.

Annihilation.

Siegfried had successfully destroyed the Genesis Guild’s biggest source of income.

‘All right! This is more than enough!’ Siegfried was satisfied with the results.

He rubbed the ring with his guild’s emblem.

Bzzt!

The ring started vibrating, and it sent a signal to the other rings.

“Retreat! The order has been given! Retreat!”

“Time to make a run for it! Keke!”

“Run for your lives! Run!”

The Head Crusher Guild members started running toward the south entrance.

What about the west entrance? It was definitely foolish of them to run back there as that was in the direction where the medicinal plant field was located. In other words, the Genesis Guild Members would come from the west entrance.

This whole operation was designed to start from the west, and they would make their way down south to escape.

The other five hundred members of the Head Crusher Guild were probably at the south entrance right now, and they had to have already secured it for their escape.

“Let’s go! Hamchi!”

“Kyu!”

Siegfried and Hamchi made a run for the south entrance after wreaking havoc on someone else’s land.

Fwaaaah! Fwaaaaah!

Min-Woo’s heart dropped the moment he realized that the vineyard was on fire.

The vineyard was the backbone of their guild’s finances, and the fact that it was on fire right now meant that their guild had just suffered a catastrophic blow.

He immediately got worried about how Chae Hyung-Seok was going to react to this news. No, Min-Woo wasn’t even sure about how he was even going to break this news to him…

“N-No!” Min-Woo screamed. His face turned pale after realizing the severity of the situation. He turned toward the rest of the guild members and desperately screamed, “All forces! To the vineyard! Hurry to the vineyard!”

***

“Bwahahaha!”

“That felt amazing! Keke!”

“Serves those fuckers right! Hahaha!”

“Let them have a taste of their own medicine!”

“Kekekekeke!”

Laughter filled the air as the Head Crusher Guild members retreated. This was a huge breath of fresh air for them. They had been pushed around by the Genesis Guild for so long without even being able to retaliate almost throughout their gaming life.

However, all of that changed today. These Adventurers managed to lay waste to the Genesis Guild’s most valuable source of income. It was a refreshing feeling that not any beverage could fulfill.

Ten years—no, it felt as if a hundred years’ worth of grudge had been instantly lifted off of their shoulders!

“Listen up! Stop laughing and keep running! We’ll lose if they catch us!” Siegfried shouted. He urged them on because the Head Crusher Guild was no match against the Genesis Guild in a direct confrontation.

The might of the Genesis Guild was akin to a decent-sized kingdom’s military, thanks to their buffs. The individual power of their members wasn’t that strong, but they possessed the trait of becoming stronger and stronger the higher their numbers.

This meant that the Head Crusher Guild would be annihilated if they clashed head-on against the Genesis Guild.

‘We need to run faster. We wasted too much time at the vineyard,’ Siegfried thought as he ran faster.

However, he suddenly came to a stop.

‘Something’s wrong…’ he instinctively could tell that there was something wrong.

The rest of the Head Crusher Guild was supposed to be waiting for them at the south entrance, but they were nowhere to be seen. The entrance was wide open, but the ones waiting for them weren’t the Head Crusher Guild members.

Corpses littered on the ground, pools of blood all over the place, severed limbs and heads rolling on the ground, and the flashing random drop items that Adventurers would drop upon dying.

What awaited Siegfried and his forces was a massacre. However, the problem was that the corpses belonged to the Head Crusher Guild members.

‘Something went horribly wrong here.’

While Siegfried was trying to analyze the situation, someone showed up and asked him, “Are you that bastard?”

The man had the badge of the Genesis Guild on his chest, and he was definitely the culprit who had massacred the Head Crusher Guild members.

‘MassacreGod!’ Siegfried instantly recognized the person blocking their path to safety.

ID MassacreGod. He was a famous Adventurer that was in charge of the Genesis Guild’s offense. He was also known as one of the pillars of their guild.

There was a limit to what buffs could do, but that was not the case for buffs cast by high-level Buffers. The buffs cast by those Buffers were so powerful that most would mistake them as blessings from a god.

Why?

It was all because their buffs would allow someone to withstand attacks they would normally fail to withstand, pierce defenses they would normally fail to pierce through, and deal damages they normally wouldn’t be able to dish out.

There was a reason why Buffers were considered nobles in most video games, and the powerful ones were almost revered as gods.

However, there was a limit to their god-like buffs. A buff could turn a weakling powerful, but it couldn’t turn them into an extremely powerful person.

Therefore, the Genesis Guild members wouldn’t be able to stand against Rankers no matter how many buffs they received, as their members lacked in quality. It was imperative for even the Genesis Guild to have someone who was beyond a certain threshold if they were to utilize the full potential of their buffs.

And that someone was none other than MassacreGod...

The Genesis Guild was always lacking in offensive power as their guild master, Chae Hyung-Seok, was a Buffer, but MassacreGod was one of their pillars that completely compensated for the guild’s weakness.

In short, MassacreGod was a high-level DPS who was in charge of converting the absurdly powerful buffs of the Genesis Guild and unleashing them as damage to their enemies.

MassacreGod wielded revolvers in both hands, and his class was known as Twin Fire. The offensive power of his class was something that even the other top ten guilds were aware of and were wary about.

‘To think that we would bump into that bastard here…’ Siegfried gritted his teeth.

To make matters worse, MassacreGod wasn’t alone. He was accompanied by eleven Buffers and other Genesis Guild members who weren’t as powerful as him but were surely a threat on their own.

And that was why it wasn’t strange that the Head Crusher Guild members in charge of securing their escape route on the south entrance had been completely annihilated.

“The vineyard is one thing, but I’m more interested in seeing what you got,” MassacreGod said with a confident smirk.

Boom!

One of his revolvers shone bright red before spitting fire.
