Chapter 209 - 209 In Danger?

209 In Danger?

[You have leveled up!]

[Congratulations host! You have worked hard to reach this level.]

[Prepare yourself for your first evolution!]

‘This is it…’ Blake held down his excitement as he kept his body as calm as possible.

[Checking the requirements for the next evolution.]

‘Will it look the same as Robus’ evolution? Nether tornado would envelop me and change my body?’

[Checking finished. Lacking requirements to promptly evolve.]

‘Huh?’

[New quests have been added to the host’s status screen. Please complete the quest to evolve]

Quest:

+(Main) Reach level 15 and Evolve!

+(Evolution) Get your evolution catalyst back.

Due to the host’s unique constitution, an evolution catalyst had been given to the host to undergo a special evolution. But the evolution catalyst was currently not found in Host’s body. Retrieve the evolution catalyst first before proceeding with the next step.

———-

It was a puzzling situation for Blake who did not have a single idea about what was currently happening to him. His first ever seeing a demon evolving was when he saw Robus evolve. And he didn’t believe that Robus had to retrieve the evolution catalyst or anything like that as he had never seen the huge gorilla carry anything with him.

‘And what is that in the first place? It had been given to me? By whom? And when? I don’t remember having any things called an evolution catalyst.’ Several questions popped up in Blake’s head.

But the most important one was, ‘Where is it right now? Where can I find this evolution catalyst?’

As if to answer Blake’s questions, the system’s voice appeared again in Blake’s head.

[Scanning for the evolution catalyst location.]

After a whole 10 seconds of being silent, the system continued. [Evolution catalyst not found in the vicinity, widening the range of search.]

This time, the system stayed silent for about a whole minute before it suddenly gave Blake a message that he would never expect.

[Evolution Catalyst found. Confirming the location in Host’s previous realm. Confirming Host’s current inability to travel to another realm. Preparing a portal to Host’s previous realm.]

It was only short 4 sentences, but the impact those 4 short sentences brought to Blake’s mind was more than just simply shocking. Particularly the second and the last sentence.

‘Previous realm…?’ It was Blake’s first time in the demon realm. He had only been moved here a while ago and he had lived in the demon realm for about one and a half months. The only other realm where he had lived before was none other than,

‘Earth…’

Before Blake could think of anything else, the nether around him began to swirl. But instead of swirling around him like what happened to Robus, the nether gathered some distance above Blake’s head, forming a circular dark hole that looked fairly similar to the portal that had brought him to the demon realm, not that he recognized it since he had been unconscious before.

The swirling of nether that had only started in the area around Blake then suddenly grew explosively, even sucking in nether from the area around Robus, which was about 30 meters away from Blake’s current position.

The changes were too sudden for Blake to comprehend, not giving him enough time to process what was happening and what would happen.

Well, he knew what was actually happening since the system had said it to him. But Blake still didn’t know what to do about it. He would be traveling back to earth, and he didn’t know whether that was a good thing or not.

Saying he didn’t want to go back would be wrong as he thought about the people that he knew back on earth, particularly Amy. He wondered about what she was doing and whether she was healthy and happy without him. But saying he was worried about going back was also true as he didn’t know whether he would lose all his powers that he had back in the demon realm.

If he came back as a powerless creature that can’t even protect himself again, Blake couldn’t even imagine what kind of thoughts would fill his mind.

‘If that really did happen, then I can only find that evolution catalyst and go back here as soon as possible… No matter what will happen, I have to go to find that evolution catalyst.’

As the gathering of nether had become even thicker, the portal soon appeared above him. Blake didn’t know what would happen now, so when the portal suddenly jerked his body upward, sucking him inside it, Blake released a yelp of surprise, quickly catching Robus’ attention that had been observing Blake the moment the abundant nether gathered above Blake’s head.

Hearing Blake’s voice and seeing his worried expression, Robus’ leaped forward in Blake’s direction. He didn’t know what was happening and whether Blake had expected it or not, but seeing Blake’s expression earlier, Robus assumed that Blake needed his help.

So without wasting a single second, Robus instantly acted, jumping and extending his huge hand forward, ready to snatch Blake out of the sky.

There was a 30-meter gap between the two, but with Robus’ current body that not only had a large growth in size but also an explosive growth in strength, the 30 meters distance was covered in a second, and his hand already caught onto Blake’s body just in time before Blake was sucked in completely into the dark hole appearing in the sky.

Robus tried to pull Blake back into the ground, which he had succeeded at the first second, but as if recognizing his attempt to prevent Blake from going, the suction force was multiplied exponentially, so strong that even Robus’ enormous body was losing his footing on the ground.

“Brother!!!” A loud shout was suddenly heard from a distance. Cyra had come back with her explosion after sensing an irregular amount of nether had gathered at the area where Blake was before.

Seeing Robus and Blake were currently fighting against an unknown force in the sky, Cyra quickly exploded forward, going forward as fast as she could.

But she was still about a hundred meters away, there was no way Cyra could make it to him as the suction force had once again multiplied in strength, pulling Robus in together with Blake.

Blake noticed this, and he kept his inactivity until the very last second when he thought of something and Cyra.

Before his whole body went inside the portal, Blake sent the nether in his body to the bracelet on his wrist, making sure the bracelet was activated before dropping it from his wrist and throwing it as far away as possible.

Fortunately though, as if the suction force had its own intelligence, the moment Blake released the bracelet from his body, the powerful suction force released its grasp on the bracelet, letting it fly away towards Cyra’s direction.

And with that, Blake’s head then went into the hole before his whole body followed suit. And with Robus’ hand still attached to his body, the huge gorilla was also sucked inside the small portal as if the gorilla’s huge body didn’t matter to the portal’s teleportation ability.

His huge hand that wrapped around Blake’s whole body looked as if it was warped, then it spread all over Robus’ body, making it possible for the huge creature to go through the huge portal as if his body was liquid.

[An additional entity carrying Host’s mark had been detected. Scanning the additional entity.]

[Entity identified.]

[Danger mitigation protocol activated. Creating disguises for Host and Robus. Please remember the disguise will weaken with the use of nether. Advising Host and Robus not to use nether while in the other realm as nether was a foreign object in the other realm.]

While Blake’s vision was in complete darkness, the system’s voice constantly rang out in his head.

[The system will locate the evolution catalyst’s location. The system would gather the necessary amount of nether separate from Host’s nether to prepare for the portal back as soon as Host has secured the evolution catalyst, please keep yourself safe while waiting for the system to gather enough nether.]

[I wish you the best of luck.]

The last sentence that Blake heard from the system was the system wishing him good luck then his head was struck by a severe headache, knocking him out cold as his body was transported elsewhere.

Meanwhile, back in the first demon realm.

“Brotherrrrr!!! Uncle Robus!!!”

Cyra shouted, calling out her two new friends that she had been spending the past week of her life with. It was not a long time considering she had been alive for years. But she had been alone ever since she was born due to her flames keeping her from making contact with anything without burning it, and the company of the two demons playing with her and interacting with her for the past week was enough for her to feel attached to them.

She saw Robus’s huge body was suddenly twisted in, his bulky body that looked like a huge boulder had somehow turned into a small stick before disappearing to the portal.

Seeing Blake and Robus go into the portal, of course, Cyra also wanted to go to the portal. Using her explosions to propel herself forward, Cyra quickly covered tens of meters in a second, heading closer and closer to the dark portal hovering in the air.

However, she was a few steps too late. Just as she was only an explosion away from the portal, the circular hole of complete darkness crumbled, slowly dispersing the abundant amount of nether back into the surroundings.

“NOOO! I WANT TO GO THERE TOO!!”

Cyra desperately tried to go up and down the dispersing dark portal, but no matter how many times she tried to do so, she didn’t get sucked in anywhere, and instead just went up and down in the air.

“Brotherrrr!!!!” Cyra tried calling out once again, but no answer was given to her.

She didn’t know what to do as she was once again left alone in the middle of the wilderness.

Meanwhile, in the center part of the main continent, a breathtakingly beautiful demoness was casually flying above a humanoid demon base. Her eyes looked calm as she observed the base with calm eyes, seeing the hundreds of demons below her as if they were nothing but ants doing their own thing.

But something suddenly caught her attention. And it didn’t come from the humanoid demon base below her.

Instead, it came from her own hands. Particularly, the bracelet that she wore on her left wrist.

After taking a split second to remember what the bracelet did, Vera’s eyes opened wide for a whole second before calming down once again.

“Did he really gather that many souls in just a week and a half…? Did he already evolve…?”

“Or…”

“Does he need my help? Is he... In danger...?”

Thinking the latter choice was more logical to her than the former one, Vera’s expression turned serious as she prepared to fly as fast as she could. Vera quickly sends her own nether to the bracelet. The bracelet that was made as a pair with the other one then reacted, giving Vera the direction that she needed to go to meet its pair.

‘Wait for me, Blake.’ She prayed as she flew as fast as her wings could take her.
