Chapter 62:The Dungeon Lord frees Josh and Jack

With the deal sealed, it was time to make a few preparations in case things got bad, but before that I had a few pending matters that I couldn't help but finish them first. The first one of them was my prisoners.

No, I'm not talking the mad dog woman sealed in the earth pillar, I'm talking about the berserker and ranger from the village below. If it was a peaceful time, it would be ok to leave them to rot a bit in their cells but since the situation has progressed to this stage, it was time to let them go back to the village as their village will need all help it can get.

Honestly, I am expecting to seal the same deal I sealed with the elves with the villagers down the mountain. Right now, even if you count their numbers considering the old folks and children, the total count wont go above a hundred, so it's suicide for them to even think of resisting the orcs alone. Although we had our differences, there are people in the village who treated me really well, so it would hurt my conscience if I didn't at least offer them a chance.

Reaching the cell, I turn back to Alice who still haven't let go of my hand and say.

"Little Princess, I will have to go down the mountain to solve some problems and bring those two back home, meanwhile I will have to ask you to stay here where it's safe, OK?"

Alice looks to the ground with a sad face and makes a small nod in agreement.

"Come back soon..."

Alice headed to the farm camp while I put back my helmet and concentrated on the two in the cell.

"Hey you two, wake up!"

"Hmm? What is it now?"

"..."

The berserker answered with a sleepy face while the other just glared at me as if I killed his whole family or something...

"The situation changed, we have no time for the two of you to waste your time here, your village is in danger."

"Leticia is in danger!? Who the hell is it!? Show me the ******* and I will teach him a lesson he will remember for the rest of his life!"

"!!"

"I said your village, not your girlfriend. But well, yes, consequently your girlfriend will be in danger as well. Anyway, there is an army of orcs marching toward your village and destroying everything in their way, so we need all help available to evacuate. Are you two going to help or stay here?"

"We will help."

"Yeah, that's right!"

Different from what I expected, the first one to answer me was the one I almost thought was mute.

With both in agreement, I created a door to get them out and returned their weapons after taking them out of the Inventory.

"Good, then let's go to the village."

The three of us ran back to the wall next to the refugees camp, I made a door and closed if after we passed through, then we kept walking until we reached the exit.

Getting out of the cave we were greeted by a light breeze and a sky full of rain clouds.

Looking at the ugly sky I couldn't help but curse a bit.

"Damn, it's going to start raining at any moment now..."

"...one hour."

"What?"

"The rain will arrive in a bit less than one hour."

It was the ranger guy again. it seems like he became a bit more talkative as we left the cave. Well, I think that's good, I would try to keep the mood and talk about something if it was another day, unfortunately it wasn't, so I had to stop talking and hurry up.

"I see, then let's run. Considering it's downhill we should be able to reach the village before the rain."

I didn't wait for their answer and started running down the trail. Since I had only half the armor now, I should be able to last until the end... or that's what I thought.

.

..

...

"Ha...ha...ha...ha..."

Damn, I am tired!

Well, not nearly as tired as the first time when I walked with the full armor, but still quite tired.

Luckily the village was already in sight.

"Finally, we made it! See? I told you we would get here before the rain!"

As if answering me, the rain started falling all at once.

Heavens, can't you give me a break!?!

"Well, I am going to talk to Bia and explain the situation."

The ranger jumped when he heard Bia's name.

"Bia? Why Bia?"

"Because she is a lot more responsible than her brother."

"...well, I can't deny that..."

"Well, you two are free to go wherever you want. Good bye."

"Hey wait! I'm going with you!"

"Sure..."

"Then I will be going now..."

The berserker parted ways with us and we continued to Bia's brother's place.

"Didn't you say you were going to talk to Bia?"

"Yeah."

"Then, why are you going to her brother's place?"

Hmm, even if you ask me, where else am I supposed to go? I always find her here.

"Hmm... now that you said it... OK, lead the way!"

"No, since we are already here, we should just talk to Silver, he will end up asking his sister for help anyway so it makes no difference."

Knock, Knock...

Soon a voice from inside answered.

"It's open..."

Jack entered first and I followed him right behind.

"Jack!? You are alive!!!!"

Jack? So that's his name?

"Yeah, yeah, I'm alive. Silver we got no time for jokes now, where is Bia?"

"What do you mean?"

"There is a huge army of orcs marching to here."

...Bang...

Yup, he fainted again.

"Kyaaaaa~!!!!!!"

I knew this was a flag! I just knew it!!!!
