CH 12.2

Chapter 12.2. Karin

“So what are we going to do-nya? Are we only going to feed our men with coupepan-nya?”

Even though they are always hungry, it will be tough to feed them with only coupepans. What will they do?

“Karin. Tell me where the core store appeared.”

He tosses her a core, so she takes it as an information fee.

“Let’s see-nya. There are 12 near the dungeon in the abandoned town, and 3 in the inner city-nya.”

“Oh? You’ve also checked the core stores in the inner city? That’s great.”

She inwardly cringes at the look from Sakimori whose mouth is twisted into a smile. Did he notice? It might not have been good for her to know the exact number of units in the inner city. It was a bit of a bypass.

“Cats can enter anywhere, you know. Even in the inner city, it’s easy to get in.”

She giggled and twisted her body to show off her chest. The preventer exhales slightly at the sight of her. Mmmm, why doesn’t he react? It took a lot of courage to do that. It hurts my girlish heart a little.

“Let’s put it that way. That’s what I thought for now. You haven’t shown up in the outer city, have you?”

It’s a subtle thing to say and do, but I’m curious to see where it goes from there, so I keep my mouth shut. It’s not something I dare poke at. It would make him seem more suspicious.

“That’s right-nya. They only appear around the dungeon, not in the outer city-nya.”

“The guys in the outer city know the dangers of the abandoned city. So they won’t be able to use the core store. Except for the dangerous ones.”

“That’s true-nya. So?”

Karin asks, prompting him to continue the conversation, and he grins and says his thoughts with a sly grin. She knows, and she’s impressed by the content.

With a hahaha, wave of her hand and an incidental wag of her tail, Karin leaves and heads home.

It’s the empty world of an abandoned town. Karin wanders through the dirty houses. The once-clean flooring is now covered in mud. She steps on the shards of glass with our boots. She comes to a narrow path, and as she passes an abandoned building, she stops dead in her tracks.

“What-nya? Do you have any information you want-nya?”

Perhaps hearing Karin’s voice, three dirty men jump out from the corner of the narrow street. They have iron pipes and knives in their hands.

“Hehe, yo Karin. How’s business?”

With a dismissive sneer, the three men stand there as if they’re trying to get through. She notices there are two more behind her, two men dressed similarly.

“You’re poor and bored, aren’t you-nya? I don’t have any business with someone like you-nya. So, what do you want-nya?”

The men giggle and laugh as they imitate crying and joke around. What’s the fun in that?

“Screw you, I know you’re a hoarder. Now get on with it and show me to bed!”

“Oh yeah, to the bed.”

“Because I’m going to love you.”

“I don’t know what’s so fun about it-nya. I don’t even know what that means-nya.”

The men are frightened and back away slightly when they see Karin is not her usual happy self.

“It seems you can sense danger-nya. I’ll let you off the hook then, so get the hell out of my way-nya.”

She waves and tells them to leave. It’s her gentle ultimatum. But they’re embarrassed by their fright, and their faces turn red with rage.

“Screw you! You guys, break one of her limbs!”

“Oooh!”

The robbers nod and try to come to Karin, but the lead man who started running falls to the ground as if he is going to collapse with a zuri.

“Oh, what?”

The other men stop, suspicious, but.

“Kirak!

There is a slight reflection of light in the air, or a small sparkle, and the next man and the next man after that both fall to the ground.

“Hey, what?”

The leader’s voice trembles as the men suddenly fall one after another, and he stares at Karin. Karin smiles coldly and waves her arms.

The running man collapses when he sees another glimmer of light.

[Dark Equip]

She tells the man, who is freaking out and shaking.

“My’s unique skill is [Cat Transformation / Nekonization]. And [Dark Equip]-nya.”

She shows him the thin needle in his hand. The needle is also stuck in the foreheads of the fallen men.

“Oh, a Dark Equip? I’ve never heard of you having such a skill. No, you’re too strong, to begin with, dude!”

The man exclaims uncomfortably at Karin, who shows overwhelming strength that doesn’t match her age, but he only returns with a thin smile in his mouth.

“That’s right-nya. I’ve killed most of the people who have seen this technique. Dark Equip is a skill I don’t want people to know about.”

“Damn it, you son of a bitch!”

Seeing a development different from what he had expected, he approached her by raising an iron pipe as if he was prepared to die, but she calmly and sharply threw a needle.

Needles don’t go through people’s heads as easily as in the movies. But the needle pierced deep into the robber’s leader’s forehead. It’s the power of her skill. Karin’s needle had changed into a sharp and penetrating attack.

After easily defeating the enemy in a few dozen seconds, Karin shrugged her shoulders,

“I have to warn you. You shouldn’t pick a fight with the colonel. I, Fuuma Karin, am a major-nya.”

Amidst the piles of corpses, Karin starts walking again. She was walking lightly back to her home in the inner city, wondering what she would have for dinner tonight.
