Chapter 869

Chapter 869: What’s Going On?!

The whole Myriad Devils turned their glance over to the head of the beast with its eyes staring in disbelief. All of their brows rose as their eyes trembled in shock. It was almost over when all five leaders of the Guild Link struggled to stop the abomination attack, yet, now, the situation had turned all over. The arrogant beast and its group died so simply.

A female adventurer gulped before she looked at her trembling gloved palms. She took a quick breath with tears in the corner of her eyes. “I’m alive…”

“W-We won… holy shit nobody died! We Won!” exclaimed one adventurer as he put both hands on top of his head whilst still in disbelief. However, his shout immediately sent a huge wave toward the rest of the crowd, the wave of pleasure, the wave of excitement, the wave of victory.

“We Won!!!!”

“We SURVIVE!!!”

White Crow made a smirk, “Heh, hehehe, those damn monsters, thank the heavens they are on our side, meanwhile…” He squinted his eyes before feeling a sting on his right shoulder. “Argh! Fuck! I need to check this one out.”

“Lyon… just who are you?” Sakya muttered.

“More like ‘what’ than ‘who’,” Farash coquettishly smiled. “Perhaps what Cecile said was a hint.”

“Huh?” Sakya raised her brows. “What do you mean?”

“Remember how she mentioned, albeit in haste, the title Grand Adventurer?” Farash smirked before darting her glance toward the young man that nonchalantly stood looking at the headless beast with a hole on its body.

“You didn’t believe what she said, did you?” Sakya frowned.

“I didn’t, but now I did, perhaps what we are seeing now is a living legend,” Farash crossed one arm under her breast as her blue lips smiled. “Lyon is the Grand Adventurer!”

“What… that’s…”

“If you notice the smallest thing, you would know,” Farash clicked her tongue as she shook her head. “He and his group was the only one that didn’t even flinch when all of us fell into that dreaded presence. Added to that, he was amused by how Zelena, the Fang of Leviathan, played her impeccable art, he even said ‘not bad’ meaning that there is a greater level that she could unlock. Heh, now you tell me if that guy is not the Grand Adventurer? After what I just saw, I think he might have sat on top of the chain, perhaps, even more, he might be the pinnacle.”

“You would judge him that far?”

Farash shook her head, “My instinct tells me that I’m still underestimating him, and that shivered even my soul. Lyon, what makes me worry is why I never heard of it, there is no way that kind of man would go unnoticed, furthermore, he is the brother-in-law of Zelena. His identity really makes me crawl, I wonder if he did it on purpose.”

“I-I don’t think so, I think it’s just your nature,” muttered Sakya as her lips twitched.

“What did you say?”

“Nothing! Nothing!” Sakya got up with a struggle. She tapped the dust away from her outfit before sighing. “But then, that thing said that this isn’t a The Swarm, that means this is personal?” ( That means Di and the rest in the checkpoints should be fine ).

“Hmm, that’s also bothering me,” Farash sighed. “They have something up their sleeves, perhaps the one that they made a deal with can provide some answer, though most likely through violence.”

“Either way, we should regroup with the others,” Sakya shook her head, “There is no need to muddle our thought, for now, we need to act whilst the morale is still up.”

“I hate making speeches to be honest,” Farash sighed before she leaped on her own.

“O-Oi! Wait for me!” Sakya traling behind her with a leap.

Lyon furrowed his brows as he was looking at the nearest beast’s corpse.

“What are you brooding about?” asked Cecile before she stood right by Lyon.

“I’m still thinking about what’s going on,” Lyon answered, “What is this thing even, this one has a tail while the other two didn’t.”

“This beast is called Daemon, a type of guardian spirit,” said Cecile.

“Guardian Spirit? What?” Lyon raised his brows.

Kesya returned before skipping her steps and perched her hands on Lyon’s right shoulder. “A Daemon is a beast with a dragon’s head but actually stood up like a human, it has intelligence comparable to that of a human or elves, it specializes in mana manipulation, and their bodies are made out of thick hide comparable to that of a dragon.”

“Woah,” Lyon looked at Kesya with his brows completely at the ceiling before blinking a few times.

“What?” Kesya blinked as well.

“Young master,” Assid descended down as if he had just come back from dinner and not a battle. “Daemon with a tail is the stronger type of Daemon. They can cultivate too just like us, and they will evolve as they ascends.”

“That’s neat, do we give them special stones and they could mutate into something else?” Lyon chuckled.

“Huh? Lyon, what are you talking about?” Luna asked.

“N-No, nothing, forget it,” Lyon took a deep breath before turning around. “Alright, can someone explain to me why am I having my face blown out by a black ball the moment I opened my eyes?”

“Hahaha, that explanation has to wait,” Cecile laughed before she turned and faced Baiyun. “Now then, after what happened, we are ought to have a luxurious stay in Myriad Devils right? Baiyun?”

Baiyun was slightly taken aback by her response however, it was Farash who answered in his stead.

“Well, of course, sister!” Farash smiled before she landed right beside her.

“Hm?” Lyon raised her brows. ( I don’t know what happened while I passed out, but it seems like it’s going extremely well! ).

“It’s a victory for all of us mortal, and that’s because of you and your friends!” Farash smiled whilst stealing a glance toward Cecile’s husband.

“We need to address the situation first though, the adventurers are worried about another attack coming or not,” Sakya arrived. “So, who wants to give a short speech.”

“I can’t do it, I’m falling asleep,” Moris made one last smile for the night.

“I can’t see White Crow anywhere either,” Farash sighed.

“Lyon do you want to give speeches?” Luna asked.

“What? I don’t know what’s going on yet.”

“Oh my, your daunting presence would definitely serve well, I bet that you will be an overnight star! You are going to be famous right tomorrow morning! So be prepared, hehe,” Farash smiled with a wink.

Lumina pulled Lyon’s ear before he could smile.

“I will do it, Farash and Sakya, please help Lyon and the others for their lodging,” said Baiyun before he hovered over.

“Please? What’s the sudden change,” Sakya smirked as she watched him hovering above the main town.

“Everyone! Please stay calm and attend to your injuries if you had any. The dangers have passed to the great effort of the five guild leaders of Guild Link, Leviathan Party, and of course… Adventurer Lyon and his party!”

“The cloaked guys!” Lyon chipped in.

“No,” Lumina pulled his ear till his head tilted and his body bent to the side.

The crowd immediately jumped out in excitement as they roared victoriously. The atmosphere turned from fight or flight to the wondrous joy of living overnight.

“Lyon we should take a rest first,” said Cecile.

“But, what about Selena? She is coming with us,” Lyon said with a nod despite his ear starting to swell.

Zelena frowned. “What are you talking about Lyon?”

“Eh?” Lyon shrunk his dot with his brows crashing the ceiling. He had not anticipated that kind of response from the woman that would kill over jealousy.

“What eh? You became weird after your face exploded,” said Zelena.

“What? What are you talking about?! I thought you tell me to come here?” Lyon raised his brows. “Well, here I am?”

“I never told you to come here,” Zelena frowned.

“What? Then how about this ring in my hand?” Lyon showed his hand.

“That’s your ring and my sister’s!”

“Your sis’—Oh…”

“Bah! Baha! Bahahahaha!” Kesya rolled back and forth on the ground.

“Kesya you bastard! Why don’t you tell me that she is Zelena!” Lyon picked her up and shook her back and forth.

“Y-Young master! I’m getting dizzy! Dizzy!”

Sakya twitched her mouth. ( This woman literally shredded that beast with her bare hands, now she is turning into a ragdoll? Lyon, you… how the hell did you even… ). She sighed.

Cecile chuckled under her fingers before she placed her hand on her husband’s shoulder. “That’s enough Lyon, she would actually get dizzy.”

Lyon squinted his eyes as he let her go. He leered at Cecile, “You’re in this too, aren’t you?”

“That’s not important, but how about you? You can’t even differentiate her from her sister.”

“Ah, that’s…” Lyon gulped before he turned and faced his sister-in-law. He took one step forward before Zelana pointed her finger at him.

“Don’t you dare touch my face again! What’s wrong with you two?!” she stomped her foot before clicking her tongue in holding the pain.
