Q stepped out of the Fenway portal and immediately made his way toward Hotel De Chaunce'. 'At least I wasn't attacked this time, although that didn't turn out badly.'

/Shout: Sundancer Chai: One spot left for Coltrane, Prison Stage! Any class will do, DPS preferred, 35-40!

"Open Mail. Draft a letter to Jaded Ice. "

"Please send me a quick brief on Coltrane, Prison Stage.

Thanks for your hard work. Q.

"Send."

Q entered the lobby of the Hotel De Chaunce' a few minutes later. This time the doorman escorted him personally to the front desk.

The hotel clerk gave him a big smile. "Good afternoon Mr. Q, will you be staying with us today."

"Overnight, if you can squeeze me in." Q stared at the silver bell on the desk. 'Damn, I really want to ring that bell.'

"Would you like the same room as before?" The clerk turned and grabbed a card from the key cabinet that was attached to the wall. Unlike the other cards in the cabinet, this one was gold, and there was a Q engraved on one side.

"Yes thank you." Q accepted the card and walked toward the stairs. 'Do I have my own card? Or does that mean I'm a repeat customer?'

Q opened the door, pausing for a moment he glanced at the door across the hall. 'I feel bad for whoever had to clean that up.' He shuddered and walked into his room.

Downstairs in the lobby, the hotel clerk stared at the empty spot on desk. "Hey... has anyone seen my bell?"

"Ding... Ding... Ding.... You guys probably have a thousand of these.." Q noticed the mail icon was blinking and activated it.

"Open mail."

System Message: A map has been deposited into your inventory.

Q,

Coletrane is a 15 person, mid-level raid. It has six stages, they do

not have to be done all at once, but they are required to be done in

order. As long as you finish a stage, you can advance to the next at any

time. Only the raid leader needs to have completed the previous stage.

The prison stage is the second to last stage, no one has beaten it. Three

need-to-know things. 1) All TAP-Com capabilities will be disabled when

you enter. 2) You will be muted. That means you will be unable to speak

or use spells. 3) I used your shampoo... Did you add something to make

it smell so nice?

"....." Quinn.

"Open-Com Sundancer Chai."

System Message: Sundancer Chai is not on your friend list, do you wish to send a query?

"Yes please."

System Message: Your query has been accepted.

A heavily armored human appeared on his hud. "Is this about the Coletrane raid?"

Q nodded, "Yes, 35 level melee/dps."

"Portal Square in 10 minutes," Chai stared at him for a moment and then disconnected.

System Message: You have been invited to a raid, do you accept?

Quinn accepted the raid invite.

"Edit TAP Kit, Under Armor." Q equipped his Raven leather armor and then headed for the door.

Five minutes later, Q arrived at the Portal Square. There was only one raid group forming, so it was easy to find Sundancer Chai.

Chai did a head count and then pulled up a 3-D map of Coltrane. It basically looked like a wagon wheel. There was an inner hub, that had four hallways connecting to a larger outer hub.

Chai pointed to the central hub, "this is the control room. These four hallways each have an elite guard. Each of these halls have a mid-point gate that is open. The guard will retreat into the control room and close the gate if you approach within 20 feet of the mid-point gate in their hall. If you cause three of the guards to retreat, the fourth will stand his ground, his gate will remain open. This is our way in. We take out this elite, then pull the other three guards into that hallway and kill them.

"What's in the outer hub besides our entry point," Q asked?

"It's just prisoners, they are locked up and completely crazed. You can kill them through the bars, but they don't drop anything." Chai looked around, "any other questions?"

"Has anyone tried opening the cells?" Q ignored the pointed stares from the raid group.

"We've open them in the past, they just attack immediately. Like I said, they don't drop anything.

A trade window was opened and Q received a Coletrane token.

"This is your travel token, it will bring you into one of four locations in the outer hub. You can also choose to break it if you want to return." Chai looked around once more, frowning when his eyes met Q's. "Keep in mind, this raid can only be attempted once per day."

"Once we kill three guards, the rats will come." Chai tried to look confident but he failed miserably. "This is where raids wipe. We are going to attempt to use the open hall to hinder their ability to overrun us. Using this method we've managed to kill about half of them before wiping."

'Q stared at him while considering whether or not to port into Coletrane. We are all going to die. My happy life is over.'

Q ported into the outer hub, two others of his raid group were with him.

System Message: You've entered Coletrane Prison, you must be very quiet!

'The plan was to meet up at Hallway four, so unless you arrived at four, walk clockwise.' Q followed the other two members of his group, without warning he saw the lives of three raid members fade to nothing. The two in front of him immediately stopped and broke their tokens.

"....." Q.

One by one he watched the raid member health bars either drain down or go dark.

System Message: You have been removed from the Raid Group.

Q shook his head and pulled his token out of his bag. 'Maybe just a peek. If it looks bad I'll break it.'

As he approached Hall Three, the corpses of a few of the raid members could be seen. A crazed looking Knight with heavy black armor and huge hammer stood over their corpses. It's visor was down, Q could see the glowing red eyes through the slit. When it saw him it immediately charged.

*Shield*

The power of the hammer pushed him back several steps. Q was about to snap the token, when the Knight dropped to its knees, unable to stand.

"Wait, it isn't a mob,it's a NPC. Sucks not being able to attack me right?" Q smiled at the prone Knight. "And my happy life returns"

'Should I leave you here by yourself? Hmm, just hang tight, I better do a bit more looking around. You should stay here and rest Sir Creepy. '

Q walked around the entire outer hub, the prisoners in the cells all stared at him with crazed, creepy eyes. Four of the cells were empty. After a short search he found nothing in them. He tried to take in every detail possible.

'How come this place has never been cleared. Doesn't make sense.'

He arrived back where he started, the Knight had returned to his cell but the door was still open. He gave Q a hostile stare but did not attack.

Q stopped outside his cell. 'This must have been where it started, since they are closest to you. You can't open the cell by yourself can you? Did they open it by accident?' Q started searching around the Knight's cell. 'No levers ...' He started stepping on the tiles. He covered all the tiles in the vicinity cell.

He let out a frustrated sigh and pointed at the Knight. 'You aren't going to help? What? These guys make fun of that goofy feathered helm you are wearing?'

Q placed his hands on the wall and start pressing lightly every few inches. After a couple minutes a small panel slid open exposing a lever. 'Hmm, when it doubt.. pull the lever!'

Q pulled the lever and heard the slamming of a cell door, he turned and smiled at the Knight.

'Bet you wish you cooperated now!'

They must have walked by and activated the panel, there was always some idiot who liked to touch things. He jammed one of his old daggers into the wall panel to keep it open.

Q pulled the lever again, and the door slid open. After operating it a few more times.. mostly to piss off the Knight who had attacked him, he left it open.

He looked at the Knight, 'want to guess why no one knows about this panel?'

Of course she couldn't hear him, he couldn't hear himself even. He looked like some street performer, miming words.

'It's because no one has cleared this prison yet, therefore no one wants to give anyone else a clue that would enable them to be first clear.'

Q walked down the nearest Hallway, careful to stop halfway before the mid-point, so as to not spook the guard. It paced from the control room to the mid-gate, always stopping before the gate to stare for a few seconds before turning around.

'That's a peculiar route you are walking, don't suppose you a NPC also? Something's telling me no.'

Q wait until the guard paused in front of the mid-gate.

Q took one step and kicked the guardsman's butt hard sending him through the gateway, jumping back he pulled the lever. The door slammed shut, with the guard on the other side.

*Return*

Q sprinted down the hallway, he felt the guard hot on his heels.

'Damn it... why so mad?'

Q exited the hallway and pulled the lever, trapping the guardsman. The floor from the mid-point to the inner hub lit up.

'Wonder what that means... anyway it worked nicely.' Q repeated the process once more and then walked back to the Knights cell.

'I bet if I trap the third guard, that will trigger the rats...'

Q leaned back against the cell glancing at the Knight inside. 'I did figure something out. Those aren't guardsman are they? They are prisoners.. like you.'

'Four empty cells in the outer perimeter, four guards walking peculiar routes. Impressed?' Q stood back up and walked toward the third hall. He gave him a glance, 'worst case scenario, you and I become cellmates... dibs on top bunk.'

Q approached the guard in the third hall and waited until he paused at the mid-gate.

*Blink*

He landed a kick that sent the guard through the mid-point gate. Quickly he jumped back and pulled the lever.

*Return*

He ran back toward the Knight's cell, the angry guard right on his tail, this time he didn't close the hall gate. He slid into the Knights cell.

*blink*

He pulled the lever, causing the door to slam shut.

The guardsman reached for him.

*Return*

'Safely locked up..."

The floor beneath him slowly started to rumble. He looked at his new cellmate, 'don't look at me, they were already here.' Rats flooded the hallways quickly.. there weren't hundreds, there were thousands.

The Guards from 3 and 4 were fighting the rats, they had huge swords that cut a giant swath through the rodents.

Q watched the fighting from the cell, he glanced at the Knight beside him. 'Got any popcorn?'

Logically speaking, the rats should have made a short meal of the two guards, but inexplicably, they were unable to hurt them. Slowly but surely the guards destroyed all the rats.

When the last rat died the two guardsman dropped to one knee before the cell. Q could hear all the doors open at the same time with a loud clanging noise.

"Damn.. I'm awesome.. hey I can hear myself."

The Knight beside him took off his helm.

Curly shoulder length hair, as dark as midnight, tumbled free. A female high elf with a dark eyes stared at him for a moment, before placing a hand on her chest.

"Greetings friend, you have released me and my men from a foul curse. I am Julianna Viconia Trebushay."

"Nice to meet yo.."

"Holy Protecter of Innisfrae', Keeper of the Book of Honor, Holder of the Sacred Hammer."

"Wow.. all that, I.."

"Wielder of the Sword of Fate, The Storm Rider, the Dragon Slayer, She who reads Scripts in the dark."

"...." Q.

"You done?" Quinn made a sour face. You made up that last one right?"

"No, I have very good night vision." she paused for a moment. "And you are?"

"I'm Q." He walked past her and down the hallway.

"Q?"

He heard her speed up to catch him. "My men and I are at your service. Where are you going now Q?"

The halls were filled with the heavy boots of her men as they followed behind.

"Control Room. I have to take a look." He nodded at her and then ignored her presence.

"Aren't you going to ask me questions?"

"Maybe later, if I get bored."

'Read scripts in the dark.. .. damn I should have thought of that.'

Inside the control room, there was one central desk and a bunch of tables littered around.

"Man.. who cleans up this place?" '

There were papers and books everywhere. Q took a few minutes to pick up every scrap of writing he could find.

"What are you doing Q?"

He felt like ignoring her, but he answered. "I'm pilfering."

"What does that mean? Pilfering."

Q sighed heavily. "It means I'm picking up everything I think might be useful."

"Then I shall help you pilfer."

In the middle of the desk there was a small box with a key inserted.

"Hmm, bet I'm suppose to turn this." Q turned it and a grating sound could be heard from behind him. A floor panel had slid away exposing a hidden staircase.

"Don't suppose you know whose waiting down there." Q wrinkled his nose as strange odor wafted up.

"Yes I do, Coletrane Sol, the Great Necromancer. It was he who imprisoned me and my men."

"Is he great or just good?" Q scratched his chin, "cuz there's a big difference."

"He defeated me, so I'm going to say he's great."

"Woah.. that's a bit arrogant.., is that smell from him?" Q blinked a few times to keep his eyes from watering.

"That's the stench of the undead, the rats were filled with it."

"That makes sense, your men must be paladins? That explains why the were able to slaughter the rats so easily."

The Knight stared at him, her dark eyes glittering. "Unfortunately Coletrane is not susceptible to our Holy wards."

"I guess that explains why he kicked your ass." Q started toward the steps.

She caught up to him at the top of the steps. "I never said he kicked my ass!"

Q gave her a innocent smile. "So he didn't?"

The Knight's voice began to get louder, her face reddening. "I would never have lost to him, had I wielded the sword of fate."

"Did you have that huge hammer when you fought?" Q eyed the hammer slung onto her belt. 'I wonder if she'd give me that.'

"I did," she admitted.

"Then I find your excuses lame."

"What?" Her eye's widened.

"Lame." Q turned from her and started down,"Lets go find him."

"Without the Sword of fate, the two of us can't possibly defeat him." Her boots were loud on the steps as she followed.

"Then lets get that." Q stopped as he exited the stair archway, she moved along side him.

"Is that him? The huge, black cloaked guy, shrouded in darkness.. That's him?"

She motioned for her men to fan out. "Yes, that is him."

The area around him seemed to be absorbing all light, he held a long black staff, his eyes glowing red.

Behind him there was a black cage with a table and chair inside.

"And what's that behind him. Behind those bars." It was barely light enough to see inside.

"That's the Sword of Fate. My men and I will give our lives freely, so that you may strike him down with it."

"Oh I see.. then this is really easy, lets take that and kill him with it." Q started counting her men, 'hmm twenty eight, so nice.'

"This room has four gates that will open at different intervals once we attack him. His minions will pour out of them and attack us. These creatures are much stronger then the rats from before. As we near the end, the gate to the sword of fate will open. I will use my life to hold him. I dare say, if we are lucky, at least you will survive."

"How about this, we fight really hard. No one dies and then afterward, you swear yourself to my service?"

"Hahahaha.. You are a funny man Q. If things were different, you would make a fine drinking companion." She slammed him on the back causing him to take a step forward.

"Does that mean you aren't willing?" Q smiled innocently.

"If we defeat the Great Necromancer, without losing anyone, I shall follow you forever!" She pulled out her hammer.

"Your way seems a bit too complicated." Q charged at a Coletrane.

"Where are you going..? You don't just rush a Great Necromancer." The knight's dark eye's were filled with admiration. "Gods man, you are brave!" She followed after him, her hammer swung back.

The Necromancer grinned his evil grin, and lifted his staff.

*Blink*

Q grabbed the sword from the table.

*Return*

He tossed the sword to the Knight and drew his guns.

*Thundering Pistoleros* 665 damage, 670 damage, 965 damage, 440 damage, Critical hit 1150 damage, Bonus 1150 damage, 148 damage.

The Knight dropped her hammer and caught the sword with one smooth motion. Her body burst with golden flames as she took a large swing, completely cutting the necromancer in half.

The two ends of his body flopped and twitched, as the darkness slowly faded.

Complete silence filled the room...

"See? Just good," Q blew the smoke from the tips of his pistoleros. "Maybe a little less."
