Chapter 205: Son-in-law's identity

"Where are you going, grandpa?"

"Why should I tell you?" The old man stroked his beard as he glanced at his granddaughter's face. There was no change in her expression, it was almost as if she had already expected it to be like that.

"What about an exchange?"

Grandpa Tang's beard shook as he laughed, "As if I lack anything." Even if he was sitting at home, his net worth could buy a country with the snap of his fingers, what could a little girl like her offer to him?!

"Didn't brother block all your men from reaching out to us?" Her lips lifted ever so slightly while the old man stiffened.

He thought it was supposed to be a grandfather-grandson matter, then how did she know about it?

"Did your brother tell you about it?" He asked.

She shook her head, "Why would he?"

Grandpa Tang sighed. Indeed, why would Tang Yichen tell her about? As he looked at Tang Li, he realized that she grew up too fast, the power and authority she held should've made him happy but he did not feel as such. He just felt a sense of guilt as he looked at her, she did not grow up according to her wish, she had to mature herself forcefully to adjust to the circumstances. And he, as a grandfather, never asked her if she really wanted it. Even when she had chosen the business major, he never asked if she was happy with it, or she was just forcing herself.

While trying to be a good father to his daughter, he never realized if he was being unfair to his grandchildren.

Tang Li poked his shoulder as she blinked, "Grandpa…"

The old man came back to his senses. Thinking about it, what she said was quite true, he had assigned his men with the task of protecting his grandchildren and if anything happened to them, he would be the first one to know about it. But what he did not expect was for Tang Yichen to coax him to remove them.

At that time, the more Tang Yichen came to know of the threats revolving around them, the more he did not want the old man to be involved in it. Since the old man had heart problems, anything could happen if he wasn't able to calm his emotions at some point. So, Tang Yichen persuaded his grandfather to let him deal with everything.

The old man was a bit reluctant when the matter came to his granddaughter's safety. The firing incident was like a scar to him, he couldn't imagine what could've happened to Tang Li that day. But then, Tang Yichen used the most infallible weapon that was none other than Mo Yuhan.

'Even if I fail to protect her, her husband is here. So, you just enjoy your life rather than being involved all these things,' was exactly what Tang Yichen said to Grandpa Tang.

And it was the tale of how a certain young fox trapped the old fox in his beautiful words.

Grandpa Tang glanced at Tang Li as he squinted, wrinkles appearing at the corner of his eyes, "What you said is indeed true. But what about that? How is it related to your exchange offer?"

Tang Li leaned back on the sofa as she tilted her head to the side, "There are many things that happened after you stopped keeping an eye on us. Two of them are major events that you're unaware of. Do you want to exchange now?"

Grandpa Tang snorted, "There is nothing in the world that could faze me at all."

Actually, to be honest, the old man could simply use his connections to find out about what happened in the past few days. It would have been difficult for anyone else to get anything out of it, but Tang Cheng was not just 'anyone'. With his power, he was one step ahead of every member of all the three royal families. The information that was getting difficult to be acquired by Tang Yichen and Mo Yuhan regarding Kingsman Faction could be investigated by Grandpa Tang in a few days, without revealing any trails.

But the only issue was that the old man cherished his promises like invaluable treasures. He was an old fox, who would go around pranking people, tricking them with his wits. But when it came to promises, no one could be more loyal than him.

Since he promised his daughter, Tang Meili, that he will never investigate her past or anything related to her, he never looked into that matter. So, accordingly, when he promised Tang Yichen, he withdrew his men from the duty of protecting the Tang siblings.

"Are you sure that nothing could faze you?" Tang Li nonchalantly continued, "How about our father?"

Grandpa Tang stiffened, "What?"

Mo Jia glanced at the time and frowned. Doesn't he come home at this time? Just as she was about to call him, the door opened as Tang Yichen walked inside.

She was about to say something when she noticed his abnormally red face and staggering footsteps.

"What's wrong with you?" She walked towards him as she tried to support the man by holding his arms.

How could a slim woman like her handle his well-built body? So, she ended up losing her balance due to as she staggered a few steps, coming closer to him.

His hands wrapped around her waist, "I am fine."

She could feel the heat through his touch. She raised her palm to check his temperature. "You have a fever," she murmured as she lowered her eyes to which the man chuckled.

She pursed her lips, "What are you laughing for?"

"It's just a fever, why do you look like I'm about to die?"

Her expression changed in an instant. Did she really look like that...Wait... She looked into his eyes and said, "Even if I look like that, what's wrong with that?" She lowered her hand, her bracelet grazing his chest, her blue eyes sparkling with resolve, "You are my husband. It's only right for me to care...mmph!"

He pecked her lips lightly as he narrowed his eyes, "Stop seducing me."

Mo Jia blinked. Seduce? When did she do that?

She did not know that her not doing anything was the biggest form of seduction for him.

"You need to take the medicine right now," she frowned as she dragged the man towards the room or that is what she thought because if he really left all his weight on her, then she would not have been able to take another step at all.

After feeding him the medicine and helping him on the bed, just as she stood up and turned around to leave, the man grabbed her hand before pulling her towards himself.

She landed straight on his chest as he softly whispered beside her ear, "I remember someone saying that I'm her husband?"

Mo Jia blankly looked at the man as he continued, "Then, aren't we supposed to stay in the same room?"

"Eh..?"

Before she could react, a certain fox pulled up the blanket, luring his wife into his trap. He snuggled closer to the woman until there was less than an inch of gap between them.

"You.."

"I feel so tired, you better not disturb me, got it?" He nuzzled his face in her neck, "Good night...wifey," He whispered before closing his eyes.

'Boom!' A mini blast occurred inside her heart as her face heated up. "Good night," she said before closing her eyes shut, which is why she missed the contented smile on his handsome face.

And just like that, a certain couple had their 'good night' around seven o'clock in the evening.

...

"Your Father?" Grandpa Tang was stunned. It has been a few days since he told them about everything they knew, yet they managed to find that person so quickly.

"Uh-huh," Tang Li nodded.

Grandpa Tang smiled, his face amicable than ever, "Tell me, who is he?"

Tang Li raised an eyebrow. Was it that easy? And here she was thinking that the old man would never accept his son-in-law. It was not as difficult as she thought it to be.

Tang Li stood up from the sofa as she walked towards the man, gently massaging his shoulders.

"What? Is it that shocking?"

"I don't know," Tang Li did not have any idea what would be his reaction after knowing his son-in-law's identity. Surely, one thing was according to the old man's preference. As much he hated poor people, his daughter at least did not marry one. So, maybe the man would be happy..or not?

"Will you tell me now?"

"It's Master Song…"

Grandpa Tang calmly interrupted her, "Who did you say it was?"

"Err...Master Song," Tang Li glanced at his face, searching for signs of shock, astonishment, or something as such but there was no such reactions on his face.

Grandpa Tang stroked his beard, "You are talking about Song Tianyu, right?
