CH 22

The headquarters of the Japanese Explorer’s Association is located in an old building in Hibiya Park. In the past, only one floor of the building was rented by the association, but with the expansion of their business, almost all of the six-story building was now being used by them.

The appraisal service counter is on the second floor of the old building. When I showed the receptionist a notification from the ‘Let’s Go for an Adventure!’ app, I was told to sit on the sofa and wait.

“Will you wait again?”

“How fun.”

Nana Mayuzumi followed as a matter of course. At first, I wanted to stop her from following me, but then I realized it wouldn’t make sense for me to stop her, so I allowed her to accompany me. It was because she could very easily erase her existence if she felt like it. If she got serious, she might even be able to obtain any piece of information in the world.

After a while, a middle-aged man came here.

“Mr. Saburo Negishi, right?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

I showed the app’s identity verification screen to the man as confirmation.

“The appraisal result is in this envelope. Also, I will return your items I have in my possession. Please sign the receiving column here.”

With that said, the man handed me a box containing documents, an envelope, and a skill orb. I quickly signed and put the skill orb into my magic pouch.

“It’s a very interesting appraisal result. If you don’t end up using it yourself, please contact the association. You shouldn’t put it to waste.”

“I might not like it, but it’s my first time getting one. So, I’ll use it myself.”

“Yeah. Okay, then I’m done here.”

The man said so and went back to the other side of the counter.

“I want to see.”

Holding her scythe, Mayuzumi requested. The blade part of the scythe was sheathed, but was still dangerous because it was such a big piece of metal. I wondered if it was heavy or not.

“Here?”

“Here. Now. Right Now.”

I knew it, she was the type of person I couldn’t stand.

“Calm down.”

I took the tri-fold paper out of the envelope and opened it a little.

Ho. This seemed usable.

“What is it?”

“I can’t say it here.”

“Show me.”

“Stop asking.”

“That’s not acceptable.”

I handed the contents of the envelope to Mayuzumi. Mayuzumi opened it slowly.

“Interesting.”

Yes, it was interesting. Very interesting.
