CH 42

“Your name is Yanagi Sakura, 20 years old. Today’s breakfast is omelet rice. Yesterday’s supper was omelet rice.”

“Oh, ye- yes. That’s right.”

“You’re eating too many eggs.”

“Ahaha! I’ll be more careful.”

The woman sitting in front of me laughed shyly.

“So, what do you want advice on?”

“Well, how about love?”

“I understand. Touch the tip of the sword as shown before.”

“Yes!”

The woman touched the tip of the [Telepathy] sword, her finger bled lightly. I lost some of my power in exchange for her memories.

“Your tastes have always lied in older people, both now and in the past. You prefer a man who can afford to forgive you, regardless of your individualism.”

“That’s right!”

It’s a great bite.

“Let’s talk about the working adult who just broke up with their boyfriend.”

“Please!”

#######

Recently, while diving into the dungeon, I’ve become somewhat of a fortune teller as a type of training for the [Telepathy] sword.

When I was sitting in a corner of the Calico Cat Cafe, in the building next to the adventure guy in Shinjuku, explorers who heard the rumor of my fortune teller job came and asked me about work and love.

Because of the location of this cafe, no one cared if an explorer took out their weapons. It was the kind of environment where I could imitate a fortune teller with peace of mind.

Apparently, the previous customer was recommended by Gojo. Though she didn’t say anything, I remember hearing about her.

Well, it’s about time to go to the dungeon, I thought to myself, when an abnormally fat man walked in.

The suspenders he wore dug into his protruding belly in an unsightly manner. Struggling, he had a hard time moving between the seats of the cafe which annoyed the guests around him.

“Is it okay here?”

His presence was great as he stood in front of me. He seemed like he had an inflating feature which pumped his entire body full of air, like a balloon. A man similar to a circus.

“Can I sit down?”

“What for?”

The man sat down in the chair without waiting for my reply and began to wipe his sweat with a handkerchief.

“Ah, it’s hot. This store, why is it like this, I wonder?”

“That’s because it’s already December. Do you know what heating is?”

“No, it’s hot, hot!”

A crazy bastard, I concluded. He had a talent for frustrating people.

“Ah, I’m sorry. Can I get this cake and cola? I’m hungry.”

Thank you very much. The clerk went away. Cake and cola? He’s totally crazy. What’s with this guy? Isn’t it late for sweets?

“I’m sorry for suddenly doing this, Negishi-kun.”

“I don’t remember telling you my name.”

“That’s harsh.”

“I’ll say it again. What are you here for?”

“Give me a moment, the cake has arrived.”

The man grabbed the cake on the table and swallowed it. It was a ghastly sight that filled me with heartburn just by looking at it. No, this feeling could be called nausea. Anyway, I felt sick.

“Hohoho! This is delicious! Clerk, another cake serving!”

Customers near the entrance tried to leave the store by paying the checkout and running away. Other guests were also rushing. I was on the verge of vomiting.

“Well, I’ll introduce myself while I’m waiting for my second cake. My name is Tomizawa. I’m an executive of a clan called Chaos Saga.”

“So, what did you come here for?”

No. I really feel sick. My stomach hurts and an alarm is ringing in my brain.

“I came to invite you, Negishi, to our clan. Chaos Saga is gathering friends with chaos blessings.”

“Is there any merit to joining?”

“Hmm, isn’t it a merit in itself? Don’t you think that profits and losses are not the only thing?”

“I refuse, then.”

“Is that so? Well, I just came to say hello today. I hope I’ll get a nice reply the next time we meet.”

Hohohoho. Only the laughter of that man echoed in my fading consciousness.
