Chapter 412 We Have to Do Something About it

Alicia went ahead and told her mother everything that she had experienced during the 3 months that she had been away from the Stronghold. She told her about how she had come into contact with Jack, and, what followed next.

Initially, Ruth was not interested in the matter, considering that, going back to the normal countries, there were supposed to be only the ordinary people, and not 'ordinary' humans with capabilities.

But, the more she listened, the more surprised she became. Initially, after hearing about Jack, before Alicia came to realize that he was actually a superhuman, even Ruth herself thought that, Jack was actually a person with great potential.

If it was true that he was actually that strong before undergoing any genetic modification, then, that implied that, if the modification was done, then, he was bound to be stronger. And of course, other than the background that they were looking for, Ruth and her husband were also looking for potential geniuses that they could nurture.

The reason behind this was that, if there was a person that was stronger in their family, that would imply that, the power of the family would be increased. Additionally, they had to also think about the future generations. By getting someone who could be loyal to the family, and be strong as well, then, the future of the family would be guaranteed.

And, Ruth knew that, the best way to tie a person like Jack into the family was not just about providing the resources, but, making sure that he was really bound to the family. And of course, the best way will be by making sure that he was married to someone in the family.

And if it was true that he possessed great potential, then, Alicia would have been the best person that Jack would have to marry. But anyway, that was just an if, and not the reality.

When she heard what Alicia had done during the time that she was there, Ruth frowned. She did not expect that her daughter had decided to utilize her abilities while there. After all, that was something that was prohibited, even though it was not closely monitored.



Luckily, there was nobody that was able to find her using the ability. Otherwise, if they found out that there was someone that possessed abilities, went back to the normal people, and began abusing their abilities that they possessed then, there would be consequences.

Then, when she was told about the period that Jack nearly killed Alicia, Ruth's expression suddenly became icy. Currently, Ruth only had a single child, and that was Alicia. And, she always doted on her, and would not allow anybody to harm her.

And that was the exact reason as to why she had allowed James to take care of her, ever since she was young. She trusted James, and that was the reason that why she had allowed him to always be close to her.

Finally, she was relieved after she realized that, Jack did not do anything to Alicia due to the interference by James. But nonetheless, the impression that had been formed by Jack through what she had been told by Alicia had already gone slightly down. Even though it had not gone to the negative side, but, it was still low.

"Mother, what do you think? Don't you think that he is the right person that is supposed to marry me? I don't think that there is any other youth out there that is as capable as him." Alicia asked as she looked at her mother excitedly.

Ruth remained silent as she began pondering on the matter. There was no way that she was going to make a simple decision even before she made any investigations on the matter.

Even though it was true that she believed that what Alicia had said was the truth, but, she was a person who always made sure that the information that she had received was exactly how it was supposed to be. So, before asking James about his side of the story, as well as sending someone to go over and investigate Jack, then, there was no way that she was going to decide on the matter.

But, not deciding on the matter did not imply that she was not possessing several questions that she really needed to ask Alicia about.

"To say the truth, I am impressed as well. If what you have said is actually true, then, this Jack possesses an incredible background. But nonetheless, there are some things that I don't understand." Ruth said with a frown on her face.

"What is it mom?" Alicia asked, the excitement on her face had also reduced. Currently, she was waiting for her mother's decision, before finally concluding and what she was supposed to do with Celine. n0VeLUsb.c0m

"You clearly stated that this Jack is already in a relationship with another person. And if that is the case, then, why are you so much into him? Do you believe that just because you love him, he is going to love you back?" Ruth asked with a serious expression on her face.

Alicia was initially surprised by the question. But, in the next moment, she replied confidently. "What does it matter that he is currently in a relationship? The girl that he is in a relationship with is just an ordinary person. Her parents are normal people without any abilities, and so, I do believe that it will not be a problem to separate the two of them."

"More than this, there is also a fact that, a person like Jack possesses an incredible background. So, as long as we manage to convince his parents that the two of us are actually supposed to get married, and form an alliance, then, I do believe that they will not hesitate. After all, I am way better than a lady that possesses only an ordinary background."

Ruth had already thought about this, but, there was only one thing that was troubling her at the moment. "It doesn't matter if it is true that his background is going to agree or not. But, during the last meeting between the two of you, he claimed that, he was going to make sure that you paid for it. Do you believe that he is going to agree to marry you?"

Alicia remained silent as she knew that what her mother was saying was true. After all, the anger that was within Jack's eyes at that time was frightening her. Additionally, even though it was true that Jack had backed down at that time, that did not imply that he had decided to let go of the hatred.

Previously, she had believed that, she was going to be capable of making him love her, instead of hating her. But, it was only now that she realized how na?ve she was. It seemed that, her mind was not working at that time.

"I guess that the only method that I can use this time is to make sure that I try and gain his love. As long as he loves me, then, there will be no problem about the relationship between the two of them." Alicia responded.

"You know, you are talking as if the matter of falling in love is something that can happen with just a single snap of a finger. It is completely different. Unlike you who has already fallen in love with him, he is different, he is someone that hates you now. So, for you to be able to convert that hatred into love, it is going to take a lot of work." Ruth said as she looked at the blurring buildings as the limousine moved at an incredible speed.

Alicia pursed her lips when she heard that. She knew that what her mother had said was right, but, she didn't have any other choice. To her, it was way better if she was going to try to convert the hatred into love, rather than getting married to David.

She didn't possess any feeling towards David, so, no matter what, she would rather get married to a dog, rather than, marrying David. As for the reason behind that, even she herself did not understand, other than the fact that, David never give her a good vibe.

"I don't know. But, I do believe that we can try. No matter what, I have to try and make sure that I marry Jack. Other than him, I don't believe that there is any other man that is as capable as he is. So, mother, you have to help me." Alicia said with a pleading gaze.

Ruth looked at her daughter helplessly. Even she herself thought that, it was true that a person possessing Jack's background was actually way better than David. But, she knew how difficult it was going to be to be able to convince the background that Jack belonged to, to agree to the marriage.

Moreover, currently, they had not investigated about Jack. So, there was no way that she was going to promise that Jack was going to marry her daughter. Perhaps, Jack's own background had already arranged for his marriage, and the only reason as to why he was out there, was to give him a chance to play as much as possible, before going back to the stronghold that he belonged to, so that he could settle down.

"That is going to be something that will take us a lot of time to be able to know what step we are supposed to take. After all, we have to do an investigation first." Ruth said after thinking for a while.

"How long exactly?" Alicia asked nervously.

"It should take us about a month or two. It's not easy to investigate a person from another stronghold. Had it been that Jack's background is present inside Devin Stronghold, then, it would not have been a problem for us to get the information that we need." Ruth replied.

"A month? But, I cannot continue staying here knowing that the two of them are together. We have to do something about it." Alicia said anxiously.
