"Are you looking down on me? Although it is true that I always chase after you, you have to know that I am not an idiot. I do believe that if the two of us get married, our two families are going to benefit the most.

The alliance between our two families is going to be something more beneficial, than the alliance between your family and the whatever family that you are currently engaged with." Derek stated.

Alicia was just about to retort that she was not actually interested in any of the engagement between the two families when Derek continued.

"I know what you want to say. You want to say that you are not the one that decided on this. But look into this, you are the heir to your family, and so am I. That implies that in the future, you are going to take over your family.

At that time, you will not be thinking about yourself anymore. Instead, you will have to think everything clearly, just to make sure that your family grows to another height. After all, I do believe that your parents will not be allowing you to do as you please once you take over the position of the leader of the family.

She should be better than me." Alicia stated after a moment of silence. There was no need for her to continue arguing with Derek anymore.

From the looks of it, it did not seem that there was a possibility that she was going to be able to change his mind at all. Since he had already decided, then, she had to find a way that she was going to change his target from her to another person.

"Of course I know that. Anyway, still, I have not given up on you. As long as you agree, the two of us can get married. As for Celine, I'm also going to make sure that I marry her as well. So, I will be having two wives with both influential backgrounds.

With the three families combined, it is definitely going to be something that is going to make us rise to the top. There should be no more competition for us in the strongholds that we belong in." Derek said proudly.

Alicia looked at him as if she was looking at a retarded person. Was this guy an idiot? Did he think that the world was revolving around himself? Additionally, did he really care about what she felt?

After all, how could he say something like that when he had not even gotten together with the one that was in front of him? He was already having yet another target, even before getting the one that he was targeting before.
