CH 4

Mob Highschool Student might be Dense

“Thank you for your work! Be careful on your way home okay!”

“Thank you～”

“Understood.”

It is just before summer so it usually is dim outside when we head home after the shoot.

It will be brighter once we are closer to summer but it is already dark when we leave.

That is why I am walking Suzuka to the main street.

“Seiya always looks good on your way back from the shoot huh～.”

“If it’s just for the time being then it’s fine. School is a den of demons you know? You are out the moment you standout. I don’t dare try dressing like this at school. It will definitely turn into a search and destroy situation alright.”

“Well～even if you stand out because of that, there shouldn’t be any difference since you are Kamishiro Kousei though right～”

Naive. She is looking down on that demon den called the school too much. If I leave her like this she will fall prey to them someday.

Let’s give her some advice here.

“Hear me out okay? School is a lawless zone where normal power doesn’t work alright. The pleas of the weak are erased, and the strong have widespread connections and control over rumors. It is like a royal court in those different worlds stories you know!”

That’s right. School is a place where only those who are good at surviving win. Even the teachers (King) can’t do anything without evidence.

In order to climb up the hierarchy called the school caste, the students wield a weapon called influence and often wage war with each other.

To live, no, to survive, you must obey the strong. You must leave yourself to the flow and simply be obedient.

Moreover, it is not enough even if you are obedient, you must make an effort to study the topic that the leader of your group is interested in or else you risk yourself being kicked out of the group. These topics range from various things from last week’s magazine to yesterday’s TV program.

And the most terrifying thing is the forced elimination. When someone your leader likes come to talk to you, even if you are not the one who starts the conversation, it will still be over.

Once you choose the wrong word, you will be labeled as someone who couldn’t read the mood and you will be exiled from the group.

Once you are out, you can not return to that group and you can not join another group either.

“That’s why I choose to be independent. Without standing out, without making any noise, I choose to be a mob who won’t add or subtract anything whether I am there or not. For example, the position I choose to maintain is like that of a margrave you see.”

“A margrave is it～. There are a lot of enemies like other countries and monsters at the frontier, so you have to be someone who has a lot of power right?”

“Exactly, still, in my case, I am not a margrave who doesn’t carelessly interfere with others, I am more like a weak noble who can’t find any meaning in getting involved with them though…….”

I tried giving out some appropriate examples but thinking about it more carefully, I might be powerless to interfere with how the school works but when I consider that I possess an unrivaled influence as a model, it might be strange to compare myself to a margrave.

“Well, if Seiya-kun is a margrave then I would be a duchess right. I am always being surrounded after all.”

Suzuka is currently hanging out with the top caste of her school. Unlike me, she doesn’t hide the fact that she is working as a model so her popularity is overwhelming.

I was really happy about that one time I was asked to take a picture together with her so she can brag at her school. When I asked her if she wanted a solo picture, she told me that there’s a meaning that the two of us are in the frame together. I still don’t know what she means by that though.

“You are more like the duchess that has even more power than the king you know.”

“Unnn………I think my power would be equal to the king though?”

“Equal huh……..Well, that’s alright but be careful about relationships with the men okay?”

“Ah, you are worried about me? It’s okay you know. I don’t feel like going out with someone who has ulterior motives after all!”

All the men who have approached Suzuka so far are those who have simple reasons like love at first sight and they couldn’t move her heart at all so she turned them all down.

Well, the reason that we get along so well might be because I only see her as a friend though………

“Ahh, Suzuka is that type of person after all huh. Well, I hope that you can find yourself a straightforward person!”

“Right～. I have already met one person but it doesn’t look like he is going to look my way at all so I might be better off finding someone new though.”

“Hmmm, there is someone that even Suzuka has to give up on huh. That’s surprising.”

Even though she is an open person and talking with her alone is fun, to not be moved when she actively trying to appeal to him…………was that guy some kind of sage or something? Maybe that man has already obtained enlightenment huh.

Maybe he realized that he can’t approach her with an ulterior motive so he erased them all from his mind and became a herbivore? Yup, that guy is probably stupid.

“We talked with each other a lot but since he has no ulterior motive at all, things won’t progress you see…….”

“Hmm, maybe he already has a girlfriend? If that’s the case then I can understand him not being tempted by Suzuka………”

“No, I have never heard that he has one you know?”

With that said, even if that guy has a girlfriend, there would at least be some kind of reactions. As I thought, he might really be a sage huh? Or perhaps he is a teacher from her school?

Ah, I got it. It must be Producer-san. If it’s him then, no matter how Suzuka tries to tempt him he won’t budge after all. If that’s the case then there’s no helping it I guess……

“Well, If that’s the case, I guess it couldn’t be helped right? I don’t think he has eyes for anyone after all…..”

“Eh?…….I kinda get the feeling that you made some strange misunderstanding but it might be true that I am not even in his eyes huh……..”

Suzuka looks a little dejected but unfortunately, I don’t know why.

While we were having such a conversation, I realized that we already reached the place where we must part ways.

“Then I will be going this way, okay. Thanks for today!”

“No, Suzuka is cute after all. It’s only natural that I would at least see you off from work right.”

“…..Haa, you are so……. See you around then.”

“Even if your place is near, you be careful alright!”

From here, it takes about 10 minutes to get to my house. I still haven’t had dinner yet and I don’t feel like cooking today so let’s go shopping.

The supermarket is only a short walk from here and I remember that my notebook only has a few pages left too. Let’s take a look.
