Supporting High School Student Heads Out
The day after I went to the aquarium, I woke up hugging Pen-chan and started preparing for my outing today.
Unlike yesterday, I don’t have to set my hair and I can wear my casual clothes.
The one I chose this time was not the outfit that mismatched with my usual hairstyle but the one that would look fine even with my unkempt hair.
We are only visiting the mall today so I don’t really have to prioritize ease of movement. So, for the time being, I decided to head out immediately after I finished my breakfast.
When I was about to leave my apartment, I noticed that I’ve got unread messages on my phone. Since they are saying that they are about to leave or that they might be a bit late in there, I also typed in that I am about to head out too.

[@HiuraSeiya, you are only leaving now!? Curse you for living so close to the mall!]
Masato’s house is closer to the school than mine. So, although his place is closer to the school, it becomes an inconvenience when he wants to go shopping at the mall. On foot, he would have to leave his place 30 minutes before me to arrive at the same time.
Well, it’s easy to get there by taking the subway but he said that he wanted to save the 500-yen ticket fee.
When I told him that if he worked a part-time job at the mall he would not have to worry about that, especially for the places that cover your transportation fee.
That being said, his answer was, ‘if I start working then I would lose’.

Ahh, so it might be our difference in walking speed huh. I might have been subconsciously walking faster when no one’s around and there’s the difference between a man’s and a woman’s pace too. I guess Eihashi-san would arrive just in time if she leaves now huh.

After that, I left my place and arrived at the T-junction.

Then we departed. As I thought, Eihashi-san’s stride is small. Maybe she hastened her pace when I sent her off after the takoyaki party, no she might have done that since that time at the library and when I helped her from the playboy gang.
It’s possible that I might have matched her pace unconsciously but I don’t think that I am such a gentleman so maybe I didn’t.
“Fufu, I’m looking forward to shopping at the mall for things other than food ingredients today. It’s my first time in a while.”
“Is that so? Well, I regularly buy my books there though…….”
“Hiura-kun has a lot of books right. Ah, come to think of it! I finished the 3rd volume of the AoUshi! It was really fun! I never thought that all the mysteries would be solved by the ability to split into different versions of yourself…….”
“Oh! So you finished it! It’s great right…..I thought that the timelines were all different but it all came together at the end! Even if I humbly say it, this work is still a masterpiece right………”
That’s right, I have been lending my books to Eihashi-san and she has already finished the third volume.
Eihashi-san is the type that would not stop reading after she starts so she basically starts the book I lent her on Friday and finishes it on Saturday or Sunday. So far, she has proven herself to have a considerable reading speed since she finished a book per week.
“Fufufu. When it comes to books, Hiura-kun really enjoys yourself don’t you?”
“…..y, you think so? But I only have Masato to talk about this until now so I guess I am excited to have more people to share my thoughts with…….”
“Certainly. I find it nice to anticipate the next volume by myself but I also like talking about it with Hiura-kun too. Sometimes you even pointed out the hints that I missed. This way, I am really looking forward to the next volume…..”
“Well, if it’s the books that I like so much that I want to recommend to other people then I often reread them a lot. There was a lot I noticed in the second read you see…….sometimes I am really surprised by the things you noticed in your single read too you know…….”
For example, last time, the heroine who wished for an ability to read the room ended up obtaining it and got to know something that she didn’t want to know. From that, she noticed that it didn’t work on the adult who used to possess abilities. I didn’t notice that detail until the author directly said it.
As a result, the scope of my theories expanded and I was really surprised that no one thought about some theories I have at all on the net.
When we were having our conversation, a notification came to my phone. It’s probably a group chat since I’m with Eihashi-san now. Let’s see.
“Oh? Masato’s already arrived.”
“Hiura-kun always arrives first so this is rare isn’t it…….eh, what is that key-chain?”
“Ah, this? This is Pen-chan the Penguin. Cute right?”
“Is, is that so……it’s cute isn’t it…….”
I decided to attach the key chain that I bought together with Suzuka yesterday to my phone. Since there’s no place to attach it on the phone itself, I attached it to the case instead.
“Shiraki-san is already waiting for us so let’s hurry.”

After following Eihashi-san who suddenly quickened her pace, I also hastened mine.
As I was following behind her, I didn’t notice the complicated expression on Eihashi-san’s face.
