Supporting High School Student Finishes Exam
“Yo, Seiya. How did it go? Ah, by the way, I think my score’s going to be the same this time too.”
“The same…….I guess that’s good for you. I think I did worse than last time but I guess it is still better than the time before that.”

“Come on, obviously that’s nice. I got 80 points all across the board after all. I should be able to get the top grade with this.”
Although the ranking from the total score doesn’t look that impressive, in the end, the most important is what grade you get. The grade for each subject ranges from 1 to 5 and when we graduate we will get the average grade of each subject.
Some universities won’t let you take their entrance exam unless you get above a certain grade, there are also recommendations to consider too. Getting good grades is always nice.
At our school, the total score for each subject comes from two sources. 20 percent is from our homework and our behavior during classes and another 80 comes from the exam and if you scored 80 or above, you get Grade 5.
In other words, there is a high possibility that you will get Grade 5 if you do well on written exams except for subjects like physical education where there’s no written exam. The University recommendations will be given to the students in order of our grades so there’s nothing such as doing too well.
By the way, you will not get a recommendation if you have problematic behavior or were suspended in the past.

“Right! If I got the red mark then I will have to attend supplementary classes during summer after all……”

If you get a failing score in the mid-term exam, you will be given supplementary lessons after school but if you get it in the final, you will have to come to school during your summer vacation.
Since the supplementary lessons are basically held at the convenience of the teacher in charge of the subject, if you get failing scores on multiple subjects, there’s no guarantee that you will get the supplementary lesson on the same day. Moreover, the supplementary lesson for a subject won’t be only once.
In other words, you have to attend the class for one hour on who knows when, when you don’t even have to go to school.
