CH 11.2

“Please take a seat,” the host invited the two to sit down.

In the studio, there were two sofas, one for the host and a double sofa for the guests.

As they sat down, Yang Xiu already took the initiative to sit down first, while Su Chengyang glanced at the big screen, which still displayed unpleasant words.

Su Chengyang pursed her lips and sat down nearly two body lengths from Yang Xiuyi. She really didn’t want to be too close to him.

“Boss Lin, I don’t think Chengyang looks quite right. Has she been affected by the barrage of the live audience? Should we ask the program team to turn it off?” Xiao Lu nervously said while watching from the side of the stage.

Lin Yu shook her head and said, “No need.”

Gradually, other comments appeared in the live broadcast chatroom:

“Suo Chengyang looks so pitiful, his condition is not very good.”

“Are all of Yang Xiuyi’s fans brain-dead? They’re still cursing at a time like this?”

“I feel like Suo Chengyang has PTSD from Yang Xiuyi, and he doesn’t dare to get close at all.”

“You call her your junior sister, and there are still brain-dead people in the chat saying she’s clinging to you, the main character?”

After chatting for a while, the host started asking questions.

“Chengyang, I’ve watched your first work, did you gain a little weight compared to before? I hope this question doesn’t offend you, I’m just curious.” The host smiled at Su Chengyang.

Su Chengyang forced a smile and shook his head, saying, “No, I didn’t. I had trouble sleeping recently, didn’t sleep well, and gained weight.”

Xiao Lu: “…”

She chuckled and said, “I didn’t expect Chengyang to be quite good at making things up.”

As an assistant of Su Chengyang, how could she not know that it was simply because Chengyang had been eating too much lately and gained some weight? That’s why Lin Yu was controlling her diet and trying to help her lose weight.

Although she looked plump and beautiful, it was the entertainment industry after all, and this image would limit Su Chengyang’s roles, and she would appear even heavier on the big screen.

After hearing this, the host gave a knowing “oh” and then turned to Yang Xiuyi.

“Xiuyi, what do you think about this matter?”

Yang Xiuyi remained calm and said, “It’s normal for young people to have trouble sleeping. Junior sister can drink a cup of warm milk before bed and avoid using her phone.”

The comments in the live broadcast chatroom were mixed:

“? ? ?”

“This is going too far, isn’t it?”

“Doesn’t Yang Xiuyi know why Su Chengyang can’t sleep?”

“Yesterday, I thought Yang Xiuyi would apologize to Su Chengyang on the show.”

“Don’t you think it’s strange that they’re sitting together? Chengyang seems to be afraid of him.”

“What was your first impression of each other when you met for the first time?”

Yang Xiuyi said, “My first impression of Chengyang was that she was a bit unsociable, didn’t like to talk, and her personality was completely different from her name.”

Su Chengyang added, “My first impression of Mr. Yang was that he was very dedicated.”

Upon hearing it, Yang Xiuyi’s face immediately darkened a few degrees. Rumors about him leaving the filming location without permission had already been circulating for some time, and now Su Chengyang was essentially calling him out on it.

“Hahaha, Yang Xiuyi’s dedication is the funniest joke.”

Most netizens believed that Su Chengyang had never pursued Yang Xiuyi, and that they were more annoyed by Yang Xiuyi’s arrogance.

The host asked a few more irrelevant questions before finally hitting the nail on the head.

“Xiuyi, is it true that you used to sneak out and play during your time on set?”

Yang Xiuyi carefully maintained her smile and replied, “I did go out during my free time on set.”

“Is it true that you left the set several times because a female actress was pursuing you and you couldn’t stand it?”

Yang Xiuyi discreetly looked over at Su Chengyang.

Su Chengyang lowered her head and remained silent.

Yang Xiu chuckled and said, “No, it’s purely because I was waiting for a long time after a scene ended and got a little bored, so I left the set. Junior sister here can confirm that, right, Chengyang?”

Su Chengyang snapped out of her thoughts and looked momentarily frightened before nodding and saying, “Yes. I have fewer scenes and haven’t seen Mr. Yang many times, but he’s really a dedicated actor.”

“Is that so?” the host asked, puzzled. “Then why do those marketing accounts say that Chengyang is the one who’s been pestering you?”

Yang Xiuyi sighed and smiled helplessly. He glanced at Su Chengyang and said, “Do you believe those marketing accounts? Anyone can pay them to write anything. You know how it is with news about me…any little thing can be blown out of proportion.”

Yang Xiuyi was very skillful in his words.

At first glance, he seemed to be criticizing marketing accounts, but he was actually hinting at something and sending a message to the audience in the live broadcast room. Perhaps those marketing accounts were promoting Su Chengyang’s supposed infatuation with him to ride on his popularity and gain more attention. After all, as long as you pay them, marketing accounts will write anything.

As expected, the comment caused an uproar in the live broadcast chatroom.

Xiao Lu couldn’t help but curse under his breath as he watched the barrage of comments scrolling on the big screen, “Damn it! Is Yang Xiuyi meaning that Su Chengyang using his popularity to attract attention?”

Lin Yu observed the situation in the studio but didn’t say anything.

Su Chengyang forced a smile and said, “If someone is intentionally paying off marketing accounts to slander Mr. Yang, then it would require a lot of financial resources and connections to launch such a large-scale campaign. Even several well-known domestic magazines have reported on it. Mr. Yang, you should be extra careful.”

After speaking, Su Chengyang pretended to look worried and glanced at Yang Xiuyi, the implication clear.

If someone intentionally spread the rumors that Yang Xiuyi had left the cast multiple times because he was being pursued by a female co-star, it could be anyone in the entertainment industry, but it definitely couldn’t be Su Chengyang.

Because at the time, she was just a newcomer who had been in the business for less than a year, had no money, no background, and was even being sidelined by her company. She simply didn’t have the need or ability to do such a thing.

But no one in the entertainment industry would spend money to buy off a marketing account to slander Yang Xiuyi’s name, so the answer seems to be circling back. There is only one person who would do such a thing, and that is Yang Xiuyi himself, and the reason he did it is not hard to guess. He needed a scapegoat, and it’s obviously Su Chengyang.

To shift the blame onto an innocent girl.

Yang Xiuyi didn’t expect that Su Chengyang could entangle him in just a few words, and his face instantly became stiff.

The host’s gaze towards him also became meaningful.
