Volume 1 - CH 30

Chapter 30

“Ehー! Kouyou is divorcing!?”

“I didn’t say that I was getting divorced though”

After school on the day when the festival was discussed again, everyone in Kami7 is on their way to ask the manager for help as soon as possible.

This was their response when I told them that my parents were divorced.

“Why did that happen?”

“There wasn’t particularly any stupid reason for it. It was just because they fought a lot, so they thought it would be better to separate and therefore that’s what they did.”

“Heeh………..”

“They came to the festival together last year but they had a fight. If possible I wouldn’t want to rely on both of them. They might fight again.”

“Kouyou’s parents huhー! I would like to meet and greet them. “Hello! I’m your future daughter!” is what I’d like to say.”

“I’m interested tooー”

“I personally don’t want to meet them. Because they can be very annoying.”

“Eh! Are they strict?”

“No, it’s the opposite. They are too indulging to the point that it’s annoying. They wouldn’t ignore Koyomi’s joke and would probably banter with her.”

“I wasn’t joking thoughー”

“Then it’s going to be more troublesome. They thought of me living alone on my own as a cute kid going on a journey, so they didn’t feel any particular resistance towards it. But they are a little too overprotective…….They will probably start fighting whether they are your father or your mother.”

“Hmm. Then they are absolutely bad at getting along with each other…….”

“Well, that’s true…………”

“What’s the matter?”

“If you don’t get along with each other then you just don’t have to see each other so there is usually no problem, but how should I say it……..it’s the kind of not getting along like the ones in romantic comedy.”

“What do you mean?”

“They are the ones that separated and now they say they miss each other after 3 days. And they don’t want to meet the other side on their own! And whenever they meet, they always fight because they can’t be honest with each other and due to the tension. And yet they speak sweetly about each other once they make up. Isn’t that annoying?”

“That, that is certainly……..a little annoying….”

“Right? It feels like they are too old for this.”

In the meantime, we were at a family restaurant.

“Heyー”

“Oh it’s Kouyou-chan! And his friend!”

“I’m his girlfriend!”

“Oh, I’m sorry.”

I told the people at my part-time job what had happened with Koyomi. Rumi made fun of me for being a bit of a jerk, though.

“Nene-san, where is the manager?”

“Oh, it’s rare for you to find something for the manager to do!”

“Yes, well. It has something to do with Nene-san, though.”

“Is that so! I’m happy!……..Kenji-cha~n!”

He came out when Nene-san called him.

“Hmm, Kouyou-kun. Did you come to visit again?”

“Yeah, but not as a customer though.”

“Eh! Is that so?”

“Well, it’s slightly different”

“Aah, I see…….then what’s the matter?”

You’re so blatantly depressed.

If that’s the case, why don’t you stop using the back menu right now?

I don’t think there are enough regulars in this restaurant to know about the back menu.

With that in mind, I took a seat and proceeded with the conversation.

“In fact, our class is going to have a coffee shop or something like that at the upcoming school festival, and we’d like you to lend us the back menu of this store so that we can get first place in sales. If we can sell it there, we can advertise the store and I think our sales will increase. ……”

“I see…I see. But I’m not going to stop using the back menu, okay?”

“Oh, no problem. I’ll tell everyone who comes to use the back menu.”

“Hmm. What do you think? Nene-san.”

“Hmm, yeah. I don’t think it’s a bad idea. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, but lending out the menu for free is a bit much.

“I see. ……… How much, approximately?”

“No, no, no, Nene-san. I’m not that devilish. I just want them to enjoy the festival as much as possible.

“That’s very kind of you, manager.”

“It’s a bit of a stick! ……… How about something like this then? Kouyou will not be paid for this month. In addition to that, you have to do one thing for me, Nene-san and Rumi.”

“No, that is surely the work of a devil.”

“”Ko, Kouyou……””

Everyone looks at me with sparkling eyes.

Yes, yes, I understand.

“Well it’s fine but……why for Rumi-chan too?”

“Because if I leave her out, who knows what she’ll say about me!”

“That’s not good enough, manager…….”

“Rumi-chan’s really scary!”

“No, well……… I have a pretty good understanding of that too though…”

“Right? I know, right? ……… Well, for the time being your objective here is finished, right?”

“Yeah. Give it to me next time I’m on shift.”

“Okay………Well then!”

“? Then?”

The moment I stood up to leave, I was approached by a voice.

“Don’t you think it’s unfair that you’re the only ones who get what you want?”

“That’s, well…….”

“I’ll ask each of you to order something. And by the way, I’m not going to charge you!”

“I see. ……… Well, that’s fine.”

“I see, one dish. ……… I want to eat the back menu!”

“Ah, me tooー!”

After that, everyone but me ordered from the back menu and ate.

It must have suited their tastes, because all I could hear were voices saying how delicious it was.

The manager is too happy to the point of shedding tears.

Too much joy. ………

Although, now all that’s left is my parents………

Haahh….

I’m not sure what to do…
