Volume 2 - CH 336

Chapter 8-8. The Call

Everybody went outside with their own things to do.

But Alena and Satella had not moved from their rooms.

“Satella-Onee-chan?”

“Wait here for a minute. ……”

Saying this, Satella was writing something on a sheet of paper spread out on her desk.

This is the document to be delivered to the Garott Kingdom.

Apparently, Houen asked the Oni and the others to mention Ouren’s name and call for support, but that’s not good enough.

They were acting on the idea that since they were the ones who really wanted help, as lords, she would have to actually write the document and send it to them.

Although it would certainly be nice to have them send reinforcements in advance, but that would make her relying on them too much.

They would do what they could do on their own, even if it was late.

However much the request may have come from someone they trust, if they call themselves an outsider, that is the end of the story.

It is only logical for the parties concerned to make the move.

“Good. ……! Maren!”

“Yes, ma’am!”

“Whoa!”

Out of nowhere, a man in a black suit suddenly appeared.

On his back he carries a slender sword and wears a headband.

His name is Maren Lechton.

He is the covert guard who escorts Satella from the shadows.

There are several other guards, but he is the only one who shows up and takes care of business.

From his headband, it is clear that he is an old colleague of Varadim’s.

“Please give this to Asure Courselet of the Kingdom of Garott.”

“Afirmative, leave it to me.”

After receiving the letter, Maren bowed deeply once and disappeared as if he were melting away.

Alena thought that he looked like Uchikage as he disappeared without a footstep, but she did not say anything about it.

Satella, who had finished her business, quickly got off her chair and walked outside.

Alena followed behind her.

“Satella-Onee-chan, what should I do?”

“Then can you gather as many people as possible around the mansion? I will explain to them.”

“Okay!”

Alena immediately used her levitation and flew out into the sky.

She went to every single person who was around and instructed them to gather at the mansion.

If possible, she asked them to bring other people with them to increase the efficiency of gathering people.

After a while, people who had heard nothing of the commotion began to gather as well.

Apparently, the residents who knew that Alena was Satella’s sister were running around frantically trying to be helpful.

It would have been better if they had decided on the time of day they wanted to gather more in advance, but this was an urgent matter.

Satella wanted to talk about it now and ask for everyone’s cooperation.

While Alena was still gathering people, Satella went outside and shouted loudly.

“Everyone! Please listen to me!”

Her voice was loud and clear even Alena could hear her.

The residents, who had been buzzing with anxiety about what was about to happen, became quiet all at once when they heard her voice.

When many eyes were on her, Satella gave a small nod and then spoke the words she had lined up in her head.

“Please calm down and listen to me! We have just received information that the devil is going to attack this Bamil territory! But it is not now!”

Satella started by explaining the outcome to the people of the territory.

No one was not panicked upon hearing this.

Everybody seemed to be concerned or perplexed.

Hardly any of them had any combat experience.

Therefore, some of them might evacuate to a safe place when they hear this.

Though she said so in front of Ouren and the others, she was actually worried about whether the people would actually stay behind.

She lord, this is the town that her parents have been protecting, that’s why she is going to stay here and fight against the devil.

But that’s just her own personal story.

There was no way an ordinary person could stand up to such a powerful enemy.

Satella herself is an ordinary girl.

She is a human being, regardless of her status.

But there are times when she must stand up as a representative of this Bamil territory.

“Now is not the time. So there is time for you all to escape. The devil is said to be coming earlier than two months. I don’t know the exact date, but we have one month to escape.”

“What are you going to do, Satella-sama?”

“I will stay.”

At the question of one of the villagers, Satella answered without hesitation.

Without fighting, she would not be able to protect Bamil territoy.

There is no way she will give up this land again.

No one will pollute this land again.

Satella herself was unaware of it, but her strong gaze was enough to move the people of the territory.

However, there were others who made up their minds for other reasons.

“Hey, Satella-chan. We were attacked once, our house was destroyed, our family was torn apart, and we fell into slavery, but we’re finally getting our lives back together like this. Satella-chan was in charge, and this is how the former lords and ladies are getting together! Don’t tell us to run away!”

“That’s right! You’re not aloone!”

“We will fight too! We all love Satella-sama and this Bamil territory!”

From then on, everyone was talking about how they were going to stay here and how they were going to fight.

The opponent is the devil.

Although they were unknown entities, they still said they would protect this Bamil territory together.

Nothing could make her happier than that.

Alena was watching from above and was impressed by their call, which was different from that of Tenda and Houen.

This is a technique that can only be done because everyone truly adores Satella.

She felt this intuitively.

“I won’t lose either! Everyone! There is still time, so don’t rush!”

“Aeh, wHeRz’e eVhRyBBBhoZdY?”

“*gasp!?”

The sound of Alena’s gasping voice made most of the people look up at the sky above where she was flying.

But the next word they heard was an eerie voice that sounded like it was whispering in their ears.

Everybody in the vicinity could have heard it.

As for Alena, the voice came from directly behind her.

Alena turned around and looked up at the sky, and all of them saw the owner of the voice.

“The devil ……!!”

“‘sUp~!”

There was a small devil with large wings.
