Chapter 342: You set my heart on fire

His goddess…

Akaro was the husband's goddess, always helpful with her copious knowledge. Her life depended on The Goddess Fiana as she was one of many oldest consciousnesses used to speak with the believers.

However, Akaro became Akaro the moment her connection with the goddess got cut. Though she relied on Goddess Fiana's years of experience, Akaro became independent and began to change a lot by staying with new people.

Even before that event, when she still had her connection to Goddess Fiana and worked with the husband, Akaro got deeply influenced by the husband and he became her home.

Her feelings became exposed after Akaro's new body got stabilized by the husband's power and Akaro had been getting bullied ever since then.

"It's because you still refuse to confess." Kyoya replied.

Of course, Akaro's whole life had been brought up by him because he couldn't ignore her gaze each time they met each other.

Only a few hours passed after Xiaoxiao asserted her dominance in the bed wars, so Kyoya didn't need to use much of his brain to know what Akaro's eyes suggested.

Those literally asked him 'Why do you keep pulling me into such events?' Of course, he replied to this question just now.

Stroking the goddess' cat body, Kyoya looked to the side. They were currently in less numbers, deep in the underground.

The husband's mission was to check the lightning tree, its roots and get a little of wood to allow Hana produce training dummies with proper lightning defenses. Those would help not only the residents, but his party as well.

And since Akaro looked like she wouldn't answer him any time soon, Kyoya asked Josef, "How is it going?"

The party consisted of Kyoya, Josef, Hiro, Fusia and Akaro. Other party members were left to look over the tribe and keep Kuro safe.

Xiaoxiao had more than enough offensive means and Maria was like her opposite with her earthly techniques focused mostly on defensive and tricky means. Both she and Josef were playing around with terrain more than offensive!

The Lord Aron's believer answered, "Nothing suspicious so far… The energy's usage is also low, so this soil had been modified before too. Pretty sus, but they had to somehow put that tree here, right?"

"True." Kyoya replied and looked over Josef's technique.

It was an earthly crystal that let out bright yellowish light. It was in a diamond shape and constantly whirled around. The crystal had been pulling earth, changing it into pure energy. Behind the husband's party was another crystal that spit out the raw energy. This raw energy returned to its initial form, the soil and filled up the place.

In a way, the husband and his party were confined deep underground.

However, they took a safer route and began digging from the village, so they couldn't just create a tunnel as it would require much more energy and time.

This was one of the convenient ways that allowed Josef to just do his job, then return. Of course, the return would be also easier and less exhausting, both mental and energy wise.

[Akaro(The husband's Goddess): Why should it be me confessing?]

"Oh!" The husband loudly exclaimed, pulling everyone's attention. He turned his eyes to everyone, waved his hand awkwardly, then hugged his cat. His head stuck with Akaro's forehead as he whispered, "Wouldn't it be weird if I confessed to a cat?"

Akaro's cat eyes dilated and she looked extremely angered by these words.

She let out a fire paw that burned the husband's chest, then scratched his wound deeper. A fair amount of sparks sparkled within the husband's clothes, each bringing excruciating pain to the husband's body.

That was the goddess' anger and jealousy mixed within.

"Hey, I am telling the truth here… How many times have I told you to just appear before others? They know about it, even if it is just suspicion. And Xaya has greatly changed too… She might get bothered by your beauty, but that's it." Kyoya said while gritting his teeth.

This goddess was too honest with her paw!

Akaro stopped digging into the husband's chest, her paw going down. She then turned around and looked forward without saying anything to the husband.

And while the husband's party continued to go deeper, Akaro suddenly spoke without using the chat.

Her voice flowed to the husband's ears, "I hold an affection toward you… You set my heart on fire..."

The confession actually happened in such a weird environment, just before their mission! The cat didn't turn around, but what stopped Kyoya from raising this small cat?

He did exactly that and looked into Akaro's fire eyes.

"I love you too." He used far simpler and more straightforward words, but Akaro's hearts pounded in a succession of sweet emotions. Those varied greatly and she even felt a little anticipation toward the future.

If Kyoya turned into a god, then she would be able to appear next to him before Goddess Fiana and speak with her! How would she look by then? By now, Akaro's mind had often been overflowed with many ideas about her and the husband.

Xiaoxiao also often was included in those too.

But all of those had been suppressed and Akaro replaced those with the joy of being close to him by sitting on his lap or just by being held by him.

However, Akaro was certain now. In the future, once Kyoya enters the divine lands and meets Goddess Fiana, she would be the one to stay next to him, hold his arm and confront the main goddess.

"Don't get too excited," Akaro suddenly exclaimed.

"I think you are the one who is getting too excited," The husband replied.

His words were blatant truth and Akaro instantly raised her paw at him. It didn't hit him, though. She just threatened him and forced his lips to stay shut.

Her voice then conveyed her thoughts, "We have confessed to each other and opened our hearts. I want you to respect me by giving me the right to decide our first night."

"You still hold back a lot, though…" Kyoya spoke slowly, his voice taunting the goddess. However, the gods were tsunderes and Kyoya had experienced it first-hand by meeting the death god, so he quickly nodded and agreed with Akaro.

It wasn't like he would force her to bring out the human form to have a night with her.

"When the time comes, I will prepare everything. I will cook dinner, prepare a bath and warm the bed." Akaro said with a straight voice, but behind, Kyoya could hear a faint shyness and nervousness that just couldn't escape him.

"You can leave dinner to me. Don't our goddess enjoy mortal food?" Kyoya smiled widely, then his friend called him from afar.

It was Josef, "Don't play too much with the cat, Kyoya! We have to go."

"Yeah, sorry!" Kyoya stood up, then asked while treading slowly… "Am I in charge of the dinner?"

"You are." Akaro replied, then deeper hid within the husband's body.

But… "It's too hot, Akaro…"

"..."

The Goddess had no words to that, her body just letting out more hotness. At some point, it felt like this cat's charge would be able to melt everything on her way, including the lightning tree.
