CH 8.2

While Yui and Futaba continue their training, the main event during the day is the preparation for the school festival.

With less than three weeks to go until the day of the festival, the class program had not yet been decided.

Some motivated students expressed their opinions and other motivated students disagreed with them.

The other half of the students were either disinterested, studying on their own, or chatting in low voices.

This is already the 10th homeroom discussion but this scene continues.

Today’s the deadline for the class presentation but there’s no sign of a decision being made.

「If we don’t decide today, it’s going to be some kind of exhibition!」

Watanabe shouted at the podium.

The school festival committee members are mainly responsible for communicating with each class, preparing for the school wide event, and working on the day of the event.

The class president is in charge of organizing what the class would do.

「Eh?」「That’s a little too much」「That’s boring」

Our classmates complained one after another.

「I’ll make it a majority rule if you keep talking like that!」

「「「Violence of numbers is terrible!」」」

Even though there were only about 30 people in the class, unanimity was an impossible proposition.

I’m not saying that majority rule is the best but deciding by sheer force of number is democracy.

Our homeroom teacher is sitting in the corner of the classroom, grading quizzes with his cheek on the floor, looking annoyed.

「I’ll ask those who haven’t expressed their opinions so far. Hmmm-…..Nanba-kun, what do you think?」

Watanabe, who had been pretending to be lost, pointed the spear at me and winked.

What kind of wink is that?

Sometimes, I don’t know what she was thinking.

「(When did you become so close that you can make eye contact?)」

Yui, who’s now next to me when we switched seats the other day, grumbled in a voice only I could hear.

We didn’t even communicate!

「Café….what do you think?」

「Nanba-kun, you disappointed me. That idea was discussed many times and was rejected because it was too generic.」

Watanabe deliberately shook her head.

In agreement, some of the boys nodded their heads.

「Yeah……then……maid café……」

The next thing that came out of my mouth was the most generic thing I know.

I wonder how many times this has been done in school festivals all over the country.

「Maid……?」「Servant?」「Why would there be a maid in a café?」

Areh? The reaction was completely different from what I expected.

Well, maid café is still not a thing this time.

Blue Bird in a Shell should have been released but neither Hanasakyou Maid Squad nor Mambo Mateikumo’s serialization has started.

TN: Ghost in a Shell, Hanaukyo Maid Squad, I don’t know the last one.

It was before maids were classified as maids.

According to one theory, the maid and maid café boom started in the eroge industry and became so generally recognized that it was even featured on TV.

The cuteness of the maids is such that even in schools, where non otaku are in the majority, maid cafes are chosen as class presentations.

I guess it is still not time to make that proposal.

「No, I mean……how about a café that focuses on the cuteness of uniforms. You know, like Eureka Millers?」

TN: Anna Millers, a restaurant chain

But that’s not a café, it’s a restaurant.

「I know them!」「Their uniforms are so cute!」

The girls responded well.

「The girls can wear cute uniforms which are expected to attract customers. We can also buy the necessary equipment for the café and make it a classroom fixture. If we buy electric pods, we can have tea in classroom every day.」

「Eh? Isn’t that a little too fancy?」「I’d like to have an after school tea party! I like it」「Maybe they’ll invite us boys too….?」「Will there finally be hope for go home boys…..?」

Whether or not the latter half of the fantasy will come true, it seems like I might be decided.

Half of the students are giving off an aura of “Whatever it is, just decide”.

「Well then, who has objection with the café with cute uniforms!」

That’s not a bad way to ask.

Also, given the atmosphere, no one would dare raise an objection.

「Alright! Then, it’s decided!」

Watanabe patted her chest in relief and winked again.

So, what does that mean?
