The day after Diana emphasized how cute the baby wolf was during our dinner, we start walking inside the forest to pull up the big tree deer after we finished the morning routine.

For quite a while now, Diana has been restless, probably because she’s still wondering if there would be wolves today. In the previous world, when I saw a stray cat and its offspring, I look out for them when I passed by that area for a while, so I understand her feelings. However, when you look for it that way, it rarely appears. It was the same when I was searching for stray cats.

As expected, we arrived at the lake without seeing the wolf family. Diana’s spirit is now visibly low, well, that’s how a person learns…..

The wild boar that the Samia and Diana hunted before was also quite big, but this time, the deer is also quite big. I think it’s about 2m long.

I asked Rike to cut down a larger tree this time while the three of us worked on pulling the deer up. At first it was easy because we had some buoyancy, but the closer we got closer to shore, the heavier it became. Samia’s (compared to mine and Diana’s) physical strength is much stronger than that of a normal human being, so we manage to pull it. But this weight makes me think that it would be a bit difficult if it’s just two normal people. With this, combined with the wild boar meat, the amount of meat we have in stock will increase considerably.

The four of us drag it up to a carrier made up of large wood. It also took more effort than usual to pull it this time. Of course, partly because of the size of the cart and also because of the weight of the deer itself, it took us longer than usual to pull it up. Hanging the deer back at home was also a challenge, but the rest of the work was much the same. I was able to handle it quickly with a sharp knife, but I think a big part of it is because I’m getting used to it. Well, I do it almost every week that’s why.

I then took care of the meat and at Samia’s request, I also took some tendon this time. The tendon will later be used as a bowstring. There is a limit to the amount of salt I can use, so I had to dry a lot of it this time. With meat hanging here and there, the smithy now looked like a butcher shop. I guess I really need to build a smokehouse and a storage room somewhere….

Our lunch is sauteed venison. And since the whole day today is entirely a vacation, I also served wine (sake for Rike) even if it is still daytime. Even if this is a different world, the sake you drink from noon is really good. Originally, even in this world, it is normal to have sake from noon (although it rarely a substitute for water), so other than me, the three of them also enjoyed meat and sake.

In the afternoon, we did whatever we want to do. Samia tended to her bow, Rike worked on her craft, and Diana practiced her swordplay. I continued to work on the flower bed and vegetable garden that I had planned to build in the courtyard. Since it had been neglected for a while, the soil was still soft to a certain extent, but weeds were growing all over it. I guess I should plow it again.

I took the hoe from the workshop and start plowing. It’s a lot easier than before, so I don’t need any help from the other three. In a sense, what I’m doing is similar to blacksmithing. But since I’m not selling anything, it’s much easier. I don’t mind moving my body, and I have to work in the fields once in a while too.

I managed to finish plowing the courtyard by myself. The soil is quite soft now. It would be better to sift the soil but I don’t know how much work will I be able to do here in the future. I’ll just be careful so as not to turn this place into a weed field again.

For dinner, I tried making venison stewed in wine. I will be buying wine again tomorrow, so I used it without worrying about using it all. Things like this make me feel like I’m really on a vacation. We had a good time talking with each other that day, and I was able to get enough energy for the next day.

The next day, it was the day we would go to the town to wholesale our goods so we all loaded up the cart with the items and went through the forest. Of course, I did not forget to bring two gold coins with me. On the way through the forest, we occasionally encountered animals such as deer and other animals but there was no danger in particular. Well… Diana was looking around restlessly, probably because she was looking for the baby wolf.

We still remained alert as we go on main road but as usual, the idyllic scenery spreads out. I checked with Samia and Diana from time to time but everything seemed to be fine. We were then able to reach the town like that.

The guard on duty today is the one we saw on our way home last time. I wonder what happened to Marius’ colleague. I’m a little concerned because he also bought my products. I hope his case is not like what happened with Marius. With that in mind, I nodded to the guard then we entered the town.

I handed the rapier I brought to Camilo. Camilo pulls the rapier out of its scabbard as soon as he received it. The sword I forged has a faint glow in itself, and combined with the protective guard, it looks quite imposing. Camilo looked at the blade and nodded with satisfaction.

“Is that so? Well, I’m glad you liked it.”

I tried not to show it on my face, but inwardly, I feel greatly relieved.

“So, about that Apoitakara we talked about…”

“Oh yeah, what happened?”
