[The Hated Hero Subjugates the Wyvern With His Friends]

“The whole party’s here…” I murmured.

Raul, Jarvis, and Eureka had rushed over hearing the commotion.

“The enemy has been weakened, it seems. Should we finish it, Barrett?” Jarvis asked.

“Yeah!”

“Okay! Let’s go!”

Jarvis and Raul raised their swords.

They were ready to rush to the enemy, but it was Eureka standing behind them who attacked first, surprisingly.

“Rampaging as you please… prepare to die!”

She angrily cast a fire spell.

After it had been ravaged by my wind spell earlier, the wyvern shouldn’t be able to endure it with its body.

“Gyaoooooooooooo!”

Screaming in agony, the wyvern lost its balance and fell to the ground. Although it barely managed to land on its legs, Jarvis and Raul rushed in, not missing the opportunity.

“Haaa!!”

Their coordinated attack cut off both of the wyvern’s wings.

Putting aside the Demon Sword wielder Raul, Jarvis was pretty amazing as well. Jarvis could handle all kinds of weapons skillfully, but among them, her swordsmanship and archery stood out the most.

As I was making commentary in my mind, I noticed Raul and Jarvis were looking at me.

It appeared that they wanted to give me the honor of finishing it.

“Well—don’t mind if I do!”

I leaped towards the wyvern’s head.

My physical abilities had improved significantly thanks to the Holy Sword, and I could jump high enough to meet the wyvern’s eyes. I swung the Holy Sword that was enveloped in a faint light horizontally. Then, the light enveloping the Holy Sword stretched out and sliced off the wyvern’s head.

“H-how in the world… you’re still students, but you could defeat a wyvern so easily…”

After I landed and was shaking off the wyvern’s blood on my sword, I heard Mr. Abel muttering in a daze. In addition, Tayte and the rest gathered around me.

“I knew you could do it, Barrett!” Tayte exclaimed, looking at me with an admiring gaze.

“No, it was because of everyone’s support.”

“So it’s a team victory, isn’t it?” Eureka said, smiling from ear to ear.

“Yeah. Raul, your blow was flawless,” Jarvis nodded.

“Thank you, Jarvis. You were amazing, too,” Raul smiled.

We praised each other and shared the joy of victory.

The atmosphere of the party was completely different from the hero party in【The Rise of the Weakest Holy Swordsman】.

This, this was the ideal hero party.

No harshly treated Raul.

No blackmailed Jarvis.

No hatred-swallowed Eureka.

And—no sad Tayte.

“…We’ve come a long way, huh.”

“Yes! Everyone fought so well as a party!” Tayte said to me with a wide smile on her face.

I had muttered that comparing our current situation to the original story, but… I see. For Tayte, the present was the original story.

Just then…

“That was amazing, you guys!”

“We knights have embarrassed ourselves.”

“How in the world is the academy teaching its students these days?”

…Mr. Abel’s subordinates looked half-amazed, praising us.

After a while, Reina also arrived.

After we explained the situation…

“…Good grief, you guys are terrifying.” She said with a wry smile.

And a while after that, all of Mr. Abel’s remaining subordinates came over as well.

When I looked over, I found that the fires in the town had been extinguished.

It was fortunate that there was a water sorcerer in Mr. Abel’s unit.

Additionally, a unit from the Order of Knights came as a reinforcement having received a report of the wyvern’s appearance, and they dealt with the wyvern’s carcass.

After that, the townspeople came to thank us one after another.

They didn’t forget to thank the knights for their work as well, as thanks to their desperate rescue efforts, the attack of the wyvern didn’t result in any casualties.

Apparently, the townspeople thought that it was the reinforcement that had taken down the wyvern, but they were very surprised to learn it was us students that had actually done it.

Afterward, the whole town held a celebration of our victory.

The five of us completely enjoyed it. It was a lively night that we would never forget.
