Bonus Scene 'Millie'

Exclusive Bonus Scene 1 - "Millie"

"What do you think, Blanche?"

The white wolf tilted her head. As always, Millie's yappy friend had dressed her all up with new clothes. Blanche didn't really care about clothes; they were just fabrics made for humans, because humans didn't have fur and humans were always cold. Vampires didn't have fur either, but they wore clothes even if they didn't need it. Vampires were a bit weirder, then. Sometimes, she felt sorry for Millie, who was always cold. She probably needed a lot of this not human fur. Why did her friend only give her thin fabric? Blanche growled softly. Millie looked always good. Millie was very, very pretty. The prettiest of all humans and the prettiest of all vampires.

Millie smiled, and gave Blanche a gentle pat on the head. That made Blanche happy, and she wagged her tail. She liked it when Millie petted her. Millie had very soft hands.

The Princess turned to the mirror, and sighed.

"This is a bit ridiculous, isn't it? Wearing my crown to a masked ball... They pretend we can't recognize each other, but we obviously do. This is just an excuse for Nobles to act above their station for one night..."

Blanche could tell Millie liked it, though. She couldn't understand why the Dhampir was so complicated sometimes. If she liked something, she didn't say it. She pretended like she didn't, or didn't say it at all. Millie only spoke when she disliked something. Blanche couldn't understand the complicated ways she spoke sometimes. So complicated.

Hence, she just sat to the side, watching Millie as she kept getting ready. She checked her make up, and her face. Blanche didn't like make up. It smelled bad. Millie didn't need smelly stuff to be pretty, anyway.

"Mh... Looking absolutely ravaging as always, my Princess."

Blanche turned her head, her hair standing up. Prince ugly. How did he walk more silently than a cat? Blanche didn't like his way to creep in secretly. Always. So fishy! Blanche sometimes tried to follow him, curious to see where Millie's mate disappeared, but he was too good at disappearing! He was prince fishy. And Prince ugly, too. Even with a white mask on half his face, he was ugly. Prince ugly and fishy.

He walked in with his scary smile, his big boots on the floor, and Blanche stepped aside to leave those two together. It was better to just watch from afar. Now Millie was all mushy again, and blushed. Millie was even prettier when she blushed. She looked more like the humans, too. Prince ugly wrapped his hands around Millie's waist. Ugh, so mushy.

"I'm afraid someone will try to steal my Princess tonight..."

"Weren't you the one who insisted we go? This is a strange request coming from you..."

"We do have some people to meet. Or more like, they are the ones looking forward to meeting my new amazing wife."

"Mh... You're saying this as if you'd had other wives before."

"My apologies. My one and only amazing wife."

Millie chuckled.

Blanche was a bit proud of Millie making the Prince do what she said. It was good she was territorial with her mate. If Prince ugly went to another female, Blanche would definitely bite him hard. However, it couldn't be. First, Millie was too pretty. He should be the one careful.

Blanche knew many males wanted Millie. Like the barking Duke. That one was a bad dog. Blanche wanted to bite him all the time. And even the quack-quack Prince. He was the twin of Millie's husband, but the pretty version. He was pretty but annoying. Always mad for no reason and yelling and angry and whiny. So annoying. Really, Millie was too popular... There was the guard in black, too. And that servant who brought in the pink tea. And the boy with the big nose, and the stableboy who gave Blanche yummy snacks. And... ah, the brother of her yappy friend. And the friend of Millie's big brother, too. Too many men were in love with her. Millie was really too pretty... Poor them. Blanche didn't care about all of them. She only liked Millie's big brothers. The tall one always gave her snacks secretly, and the vampire one that was always sad liked to pet her. Only Lucian was a bit annoying. But she liked him anyways. He was a good brother to Millie.

"I'll take it that we are meeting people we wouldn't be able to approach otherwise?"

"Only people who wouldn't be able to approach us."

"Again, your little games. Fine, but don't leave my side. I hate speaking to strangers and having to guess if they'll be useful or simply annoying."

"I promise. But..."

"What?"

"We still have time before the party begins..."

"What about it?" Asked Millie, raising an eyebrow.

Blanche rolled her eyes. Those two were at it again. So mushy.

They began kissing and getting all touchy and handsy with each other, so Blanche shape-shifted into a cat. She really didn't want to witness their naughty stuff again. Those two were like always in heat... wild beasts. She had seen and heard way too much already. Blanche didn't need to see more of that. So dirty.

She swiftly jumped on the window's border, and pushed it open with her paw. Millie's maids were careful to lock it, but Blanche had learned how to undo that little lock, and lock it again after herself; She was this smart. Moreover, it was easy to get back inside for a shapeshifter. Blanche could fly through an open window on another floor, or sneak her way in as a mouse. She had to be fast though, for some reason humans didn't like mice. But Blanche hadn't found herself a smaller form yet. It was as tiny as she could get. She liked being a mouse, though. She could hide into Millie's pockets and enjoy the warm cozy little space while being carried anywhere...

Blanche got outside, shape-shifting into a wolf. Should she go hunt for a little while? She was a bit hungry, and she had been getting less snacks lately... the Royal servants didn't like her. She scared them. Blanche didn't care, though. As long as they were good to Millie, she didn't care about those stingy maids...

Maybe she should hunt quickly and come back to Millie's carriage to eat. She didn't like leaving Millie for a long time, even if she was with her pervy Prince. She could sit on Millie's lap just to make him a bit mad. Yeah, that was a good plan. After all, she had to show she was still Millie's favorite. She preferred her over fishy ugly Prince. It would be a good reminder, she was first in Millie's heart!
