Chapter 119 Spy

Lei Zhen was filled with headaches in his office ever since he heard that the church was onto him because of the incident of Arachne.

Now that he thought about things, he recalled Arachne saying something before being forcefully transported outside.

It was just that he never expected it to be something major that affected many things.

'Sigh, if Priest Tauren could locate me, then sooner or later, they'll find out about Tang Qiaolian as well.' Lei Zhen thought.

Whether the church would be their foe or ally was still indeterminate at the moment.

However, it was clear that they are currently displeased with their actions in the Arachne Dungeon which is supposedly a clone of the real Arachne.

ραпdα nᴏνa| сom Rubbing the temples of his head, Lei Zhen decided to send an in-game message to Tang Qiaolian, warning her about the event today and that she should act ignorant regarding the secret achievement clear of the Arachne Dungeon.

Once that was done, Lei Zhen called for a guard to gather information about the City of Olympus.

With not much information known about Priest Tauren and his background, he needed to be prepared just in case they are going to become enemies.

While Lei Zhen was busy coming up with countermeasures, someone else knocked on the door, and it was Griselda.

"What do you want?" Lei Zhen asked, seemingly not in the mood to chat with her. The situation was dire for him so he had no intention of entertaining this wealthy heiress.

"Why is your mood so foul right now?" Griselda twitched her brows, clearly noticing the unusualness from him.

"I'm just here to deliver something on behalf of Princess Kate." She added, placing the purified Ferold's Ring on the table.

"Sorry, it's just that something happened." Lei Zhen gave his apology.

She had nothing to do with the current situation yet he almost blamed her for no reason.

"Does it have to do with Priest Tauren?"

"Mhmm, I shouldn't have met with him in the first place."

"Is it because of the Ferold's Ring and the duty behind it?" She then enquired.

Lei Zhen shook his head in response. "No point in worrying about it."

"Tsk, men and their secrets." Griselda clicked her tongue in annoyance.

"More like you are just one busybody." He shrugged. "Anyway, what else do you need besides bringing me this purified Ferold's Ring?"

"Nothing, I'm just telling you that Samuel found something and requires my presence somewhere else. Hence, the mission to find the black mage needs to be stopped temporarily." Griselda informed him.

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"That's fine by me. Gerald will need some time to scout the location so just take it as a break. I'm going to be unavailable soon anyway."

"Unavailable?"

"Yes, unlike you, I actually have a job and tomorrow is another weekday." Lei Zhen explained.

Griselda clasped her hand in understanding. "Right, you worked from Monday to Thursday. Yeah, I couldn't relate at all since I earned just by playing."

"..."

There was an urge to punch her right in the face, but Lei Zhen kept it to himself, generating a mental image instead of slapping her.

"Well, you did promise to give me 100 gold coins, so please transfer it right now so that I can log off. It's not that I can't trust you, but you know, it's money after all." He asked, clearly not believing her a bit.

"Hmph, I'm not stingy like you." Griselda hissed coldly and transferred 100 gold coins directly to Lei Zhen.

Seeing his currency balance which showed 101 gold coins, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

As expected of a worldwide sensational game. Just playing for less than a month and he managed to garner half a million dollars of wealth.

'If only it wasn't for my integrity, then I would already quit the convenience store job. At last, the manager was kind enough to hire me so I can't just quit after gaining some wealth.' Lei Zhen thought to himself.

To quit without a prior notice and in such an abrupt manner goes against his principles. Not to mention, the manager helped him when he was jobless so he wouldn't be ruthless or vile enough to just resign without a proper reason.

"Oh right, Lei Zhen-"

Before Griselda could continue her words, she saw Lei Zhen logging off without giving a damn about her.

"What the hell is wrong with him??!" Griselda cursed aloud, feeling enraged by the fact that the scene seemed like she had been dumped.

Alas, Lei Zhen had already gone back to the real world so he couldn't have the opportunity to see the furious Griselda.

"Heh, 101 gold coins… that should be enough to last for some time." He muttered, getting himself ready to leave the apartment for work.

The sky outside was getting dark and he had about an hour left before work started.

After eating some food that was stored in the fridge, Lei Zhen got up and left his apartment, making his way toward the train station.

Time slowly passed by, and Lei Zhen arrived at his workplace, only to receive a text message from Tang Qiaolian.

Lei Zhen, I saw your messages in Magnolia and heard some priests scooping around in the Town of Wales, and all the neighboring countries.

Seeing that text, Lei Zhen quickly texted back, telling her to remain anonymous since the priests couldn't really identify who they are yet, only some suspicion.

Closing his phone and changing to his work uniform, Lei Zhen began to wonder how the priests managed to investigate so far.

'I did not reveal my name to anyone there other than two possible people, Chris and the bartender, Albert Freedman.' A cold glint appeared in Lei Zhen's eyes.

The more he recalled the situation, the more he found it doubtful for Albert Freedman to know about the Ferold's Ring and Robert Knightman.

Suddenly, a sentence said by Albert reminded Lei Zhen and his body began to tremble.

Chuckling softly, Lei Zhen realized how much of a fool he had been. 'Albert Freedman was a spy all along.'
