[True Prodigious Equipment Attribute Awakening] (Level 1/10)

Rarity: Common

Once a blacksmith reaches a high level of mastery, they gain the ability to awaken part of the latent potential hidden within the equipment, transforming it into a power that would bolster the strength of the equipment's wielder even further. That ability is known as Attribute Awakening.

Due to the user being a true prodigy, the user is guaranteed to awaken one of the attributes that could be awakened within a piece of equipment. There is a 25% chance for the user to awaken most of the attributes that could be awakened within the equipment, as well as a 10% chance for the user to awaken all of the possible attributes that could be awakened within the equipment.

Due to the user being a true prodigy, the lowest possible value for the attributes that the user could awaken through the equipment is 40% of the maximum value for the equipment's rarity, with a 10% chance for the user to obtain the maximum value for the equipment's rarity.

Due to the user being a true prodigy, the attributes that have been awakened in the equipment shall adjust accordingly to the wielder's strength, scaling proportionally to the wielder's stats while keeping the awakened value in mind.

Due to the user being a true prodigy, the user can overwrite any attributes that have already been awakened within a piece of equipment.

"Now I see why the others were like that back then, chasing all of those with incredibly rare Blacksmith classes," Valyr could not help but mutter once he was finished reading, a light grin adorning his face.

Unlike the other forging skills that were transformed by his current class, which either increased his success rate regarding certain aspects of forging or increased the overall quality of his forged equipment, the [Basic Equipment Attribute Awakening] skill had basically gone through an overhaul due to the effects of his current class, any traces of the former skill nowhere to be found.

Compared to its normal version, wherein even awakening one attribute on a piece of equipment was up to luck, the [True Prodigious Equipment Attribute Awakening] skill allowed Valyr to awaken at least one attribute at all times, even having a higher chance to awaken more attributes, and potentially all of the possible attributes that could be awakened at once.

The other changes to the skill also followed the same concept, though the changes that truly caught Valyr's attention were the final two effects: the fact that the awakened attributes would scale accordingly to whoever wielded the equipment, as well as the fact that he could overwrite any awakened attributes on any piece of equipment he wanted with his own. To him, these two were the greatest changes to the skill.

As well as the most important.

Closing the screen before him, Valyr was itching to try out the skill on a piece of equipment, wanting to obtain a better understanding of it as he thought about the blade he was going to forge for Arcenne. As a few thoughts passed through his mind, he eventually turned his head to look at Arcenne, who was standing not far away from him.

"Mind if I borrow your spear for a bit?" Valyr posed the question to her, prompting Arcenne to awaken from her slight daze as she responded with a question, asking him why he needed her spear.

Hearing her question, a light smile appeared on Valyr's mouth as he replied, taking note that Arcenne's face expressed a great want to see how he forged equipment firsthand. "I noticed that your spear was emanating a specific type of energy, so I wanted to make sure that the blade I'm going to forge also emanates a similar type of energy."

"Of course, I could also forge the blade in a way where it doesn't emanate any energy. However, there's a part of me that says that it would probably be better for me to forge one that does." Valyr shrugged his shoulders as he let out a chuckle soon after.

"Aside from that, I think I can squeeze out a bit more of your weapon's potential… if you want me to, that is." At these words, Arcenne's interest could not help but be piqued, eventually retrieving the azure-colored spear from behind her back before giving it to Valyr after a bit of hesitation.

"You better not break it." After giving her spear to Valyr, a solemn expression covered her face as she focused her sole attention on the spear, hiding the fact that she would go on a rampage if Valyr did break it.

In response to her words, Valyr lightly nodded before letting out a chuckle, telling her not to worry. Unsurprisingly, the words he said to keep Arcenne at ease did not have that much effect, with the latter's expression still solemn as she continued to keep her eyes on Valyr and her spear.

Deciding to ignore Arcenne's gaze for the meantime, Valyr went ahead and used [Analysis] on the spear, a light smirk adorning his face once he read through the contents of the screen that had appeared before him.

"This is a good weapon."

Once he was done reading through its description, he then focused on the slight chill that was being faintly emanated by the spear, allowing the chill to permeate through his body for a bit. Feeling that he had now gained a greater understanding of the energy the spear was emanating, he then perused through the treasure trove of memories in his mind, eventually finding a suitable blade he could craft that emanated a similar type of energy to the spear.

Unfortunately, the blade in his memories utilized advancements that he still hadn't unlocked in its fabrication. Nevertheless, with the vast amount of experience he had accrued, he was able to adapt the blade in his memories, creating a blueprint for a weapon that utilized all the knowledge and advancements that he had unlocked so far.

[Please name your blueprint.]

Since the spear that Arcenne owned had a name related to the elements of Water and Ice, it did not take long for Valyr to come up with a name with the same concept, the words rolling off his tongue with great ease.

"Glacial Edge."
