Chapter 124 124 Forming A Mana Core

'She's right, but is this even possible, I already chose the assassin class, is it still possible for me to be a mage' Alex stroke his chin as he thought about it.

Jessica was an NPC and the game was built with realistic designs so no NPC was programmed to do a particular thing, each of the NPCs were unique and had the right to their own decisions.

"Okay" Alex mumbled in a low voice and Jessica glowed in happiness, Martha and Mary were already at one end of the cave sitting down.

"You won't regret this, and I hope it works" Jessica's mood immediately changed and Alex knew she was very excited that he agreed to her request.

"Mary my lab and equipments" Jessica shouted and Mary sighed softly before standing up.

Mary placed her hands on the ground and mumbled a few words and a small black space cracked in front of Jessica, the black space widened and Jessica walked through the black portal.

'Ohh, that's why they were able to bring me here without needing any door or entrances' Alex smiled.

Mages in Nova Online were able to learn different spells of all attributes but when they reach a certain level and proficiency, the most used element would automatically become the Mage's basic element while the rest becomes secondary.

If a mage element settles as fire, all fire spells by the mage would deal more damage than other elements, but for NPCs it was different, most NPCs are only able to control one element and they spend all their time practicing so they are much stronger and experienced than a player with different magic elements.

Jessica stepped out of the portal with different types of equipment in her hands, most of them were potion bottles that she immediately dropped on the ground as she stepped out, she jumped back into the portal and this time she pushed a chair back outside with her.

The chair looked like a rocking chair used by old people but it had binds and was sturdy enough to hold a bear in place.

"What are you going to use this chair for?" Alex asked.

"To hold you in place," Jessica said without glancing in his direction, she was still busy setting up her equipments and potions.

"This will work right?" Alex mouthed to Martha as she walked towards him.

"Don't worry, Jessica is the best alchemist I know, you have nothing to worry about, I've seen her try this on different animals, though none of them survived but you have nothing to be afraid of?" Martha said with a smile.

"Huh! they all died and I have nothing to be worried about, isn't that something to be worried about?"

"I can assure you that she's not going to try an experiment she isn't sure of on humans," Martha spoke reassuring him.

"I'm ready" Jessica spoke as she stared at Alex, "What are you waiting for, sit"

Alex walked towards Jessica and sat on the large chair in front of her, a small table was placed beside him and Alex could see up to 10 health potions on the table.

"Aren't those health potions, is it necessary for forming a Mana core?" Alex asked.

"No they are not, they are necessary to keep you alive," Jessica said as she strapped the first collar around Alex's hands.

"Wait...what do you mean to keep me alive?" Alex shouted.

"You don't have a Mana core so to form one in your body, you'll have to undergo extreme pain, almost unbearable so we'll use the health potion in case your health declines" Jessica spoke, a smile was on her face but she wasn't looking at Alex.

After completely strapping Alex to the chair, Martha and Mary stood beside him while Jessica was in front of him.

"I'm starting now," Jessica said as she picked up a beast crystal from the table.

"A beast crystal, I have one of those, what are you going to use it for?"

"You ask a lot of questions, don't be afraid" Mary spoke.

"All of you are just saying I shouldn't be afraid but I'm strapped to a chair and I have no idea what she's doing," Alex said in a loud voice.

"This is the crystal of a magical beast, I'm going to use it to form a Mana core so just relax, I'm sure it won't be painful for someone like you"

'Someone like me, does she think I'm a battle-hardened guy with tolerance to pain, I'm so fucked up'

The beast crystal was larger than Alex's mouth so there was no way he could swallow it. Jessica dropped the crystal in a bucket of water, then she turned to her table to mix some.of the potions there.

"Why are you girls standing beside me?" Alex asked suspiciously.

"To hold you down obviously, the process is painful but you are going to be glad you went through with it"

"So what element would I be able to control?" Alex asked.

"How would we know, after the process is successful we'll find out," Martha said.

"Okay I'm ready" Jessica spoke and the three of them looked towards her, Jessica held a small beast crystal in her hand, the large crystal she held earlier was now reduced into a tiny orb.

"You made the crystal smaller" Alex nodded.

"Open your mouth and brace yourself, I'm sure it'll be painful" Jessica said and Alex opened his mouth, Jessica dropped the crystal in his mouth and Alex closed his eyes and clenched his teeth to brace himself.

"Hold him down now" Jessica said and Martha and Mary held Alex down.

Alex's eyes was still close and the pain he was expecting didn't come, instead he felt a smoothing feeling in his stomach, he opened his eyes and even Jessica was surprised that her mouth was opened.

"You don't feel any pain?" she asked with a surprised expression.

"Nothing, it's actually quite smoothing" Alex said with a smile and a notification came up.
