Jiang Qi was staring at the audition room under the glass window, but his thoughts were on that summer eight years ago.
His pupils were dazed, almost like he was out of his mind. However, Shen Lei who was waiting for his response figured it out.
The man's long eyebrows frowned slightly and his suspicious gaze stayed on Jiang Qi’s uncertain face for a moment. Then it slowly moved to the audition room where the boy's eyes were staring at. He paused and watched the scene inside the bright room in front of him.
Jiang Qi seemed to be interested in this movie.
Upon realizing this, Shen Lei was as excited as Columbus discovering the New World. He took advantage of the moment when the latter stared blankly at the glass window. Then, he grabbed his wrist and pulled the boy without saying a word.
Everyone on the production team naturally knew Shen Lei. The staff did not stop him seeing that he brought a tall and slender man wearing a mask inside.
It was time for the first two actors’ auditions. Shen Lei let the confused Jiang Qi stand by the side and wait. He then went up to chat with Wang Zhaoqiu who was behind the camera.
The audition room was dimly lit except for the spot of the male and female protagonists.
Jiang Qi stood stiffly in place watching Shen Lei's series of 'weird' actions. He walked over and said something to Wang Zhaoqiu which made the gray-haired director raise his eyes and made a gesture for him to come over.
The eyes behind the spectacles were sharp as if they could pierce the heart.
The atmosphere in the room was quiet. Jiang Qi heard him utter 'um' before saying, "Then let him come over and try."
"Hey." Shen Lei couldn't help but laugh when he heard the words, “He can earn it.”
Wang Zhaoqiu frowned and lowered his eyes with condemnation, "Pssh, I’ll only trust you once."
He might have said this but, despite being highly praised by Shen Lei, he was a little dissatisfied with Jiang Qi in his heart. It seemed the rough jade is only limited to his beauty, but it is not enough to 'earn' the role after an audition.
Wang Zhaoqiu has heard about Jiang Qi’s recent popularity in the industry. However, he had not spared the time to watch "Wang Tian", so he couldn’t judge the rumored "Son of Heaven".

"Wait a minute, I'll ask..." The stunned staff subconsciously wanted to instruct the others in the venue to make Jiang Qi who intruded leave, but a voice suddenly came from the earphones.
The staff held down the earphones and after listening for a while, felt assured. He raised his head and smiled at the waiting actor embarrassedly, "Sorry, you may have to wait for a while. This person is appointed by Director Wang to audition."
