Chapter 45: Tsunade’s Fury

_

“What happened?”

Tsunade asked with a slight frown, as she had been preparing her laboratory when she received the news. Upon seeing that Cain and Kushina were unharmed, she immediately rushed over and sighed in relief.

For Tsunade, any harm to either of them would be intolerable. Kushina needed no explanation, but Cain was the key to her brother’s recovery.

“We were attacked by a Cloud ninja spy, but I feel there’s more to it. You should investigate it yourself,” Cain said calmly. The politics of the Konoha had become so dirty that it crossed his bottom line. At least for now, he could still benefit the village, but the other side couldn’t help but scheme against him.

However, he could not stop his greed, even with a supposedly huge force behind him.

“What exactly happened?”

Tsunade asked with a furrowed brow, sensing Cain’s growing discontent with the Konoha. She urgently wanted to know what had just happened. Was it, not a simple spy attack?

“I won’t say much about it. You should investigate it yourself, Tsunade-san,” Cain shook his head, then patted Kushina on the head and continued, “Since you’re here, please take Kushina back with you.”

“You,” Tsunade felt a bit upset when she heard Cain’s formal address to her again. This incident had nothing to do with her; was he taking his anger out on her?

“What about you? It’s unclear if there are spies in the village. Why not come with me to the Senju Clan’s territory? I’ll arrange it for you.”

Before Tsunade could finish, Kushina nodded like a little chick pecking at rice, urging Cain, “Yes, boss, go to the Senju Clan’s territory. Tsunade will protect you.”

“No need.”

Cain refused outright. After such an incident, how could he trust the Konoha again? He decided to return to the Marvel world to rest.

“If possible, Tsunade-san, could you please escort me out of the village? I think I should go back. It seems the security team still wants to question me.”

Tsunade frowned and advised, “Leaving the village now could be dangerous.”

“It’s safe for me. If you can, please help me, Tsunade-san.”

Cain asked for her help a second time. He could guess what Tsunade was worried about. He would not stop researching the Extremis Virus, and as a businessman, he would not take out his anger on others. This matter probably had nothing to do with Tsunade, and Cain needed her to research the combination of the Extremis Virus and Hashirama’s cells.

He was going back now to show the Konoha his stance. In the future, he would not supply medicine exclusively to the Konoha. If they asked, Cain would use the excuse of not wanting to be assassinated again and start providing medicine to other countries.

For Cain, medicine and casinos were both highly profitable. The Konoha was the first to act, so they couldn’t blame him for breaking the agreement.

“Arranging for you to leave the village is no problem, but now… Alright, I’ll go talk to them.”

Seeing the expression on Cain’s face, Tsunade reluctantly agreed. However, she cursed inwardly, wondering who had done such a foolish thing. Could it be Danzo?

The explosion here had also attracted Nanami, and Cain took the opportunity to entrust her with some tasks. He couldn’t personally go to buy death row inmates, so he had to ask Nanami to relay the message to Natsukawa.

Subsequently, Tsunade went to speak with the security team. Although the security team wanted to ask more questions about the Cloud Village spy to Cain, Tsunade vouched for him. Considering her status, the security team agreed to let them go. After all, they had the spy’s body, which they would hand over to the interrogation team to search for memories in the brain after wrapping up.

After obtaining permission from the security team, Tsunade took Kushina with her and escorted Cain out of the Konoha. Once they reached a forest, Cain asked Tsunade and Kushina to return, and after they were out of sight, he went behind a tree and returned to the Marvel world through the system.

“Kushina, what exactly happened just now? Tell me everything.”

On the way back, Tsunade asked Kushina solemnly. She wanted to know why Cain’s attitude had changed so quickly. If not handled carefully, the reform of Konoha’s medical system might be affected.

The Konoha was now heavily reliant on Cain’s medicine, and the Leaf Hospital had not yet analyzed the ingredients of the medicine. If Cain no longer provided medicine to the Konoha, even if he provided it to other villages, it would significantly impact the Konoha.

“After our team disbanded, I went to the dessert shop to find the owner, and we didn’t talk for long.”

Seeing Tsunade’s serious expression, Kushina recounted everything that had happened, especially the question Cain asked Minato Namikaze. Kushina was no fool; after careful reflection, she felt that there was something wrong with Minato’s words. However, it might not be Minato’s fault but rather the issue with the Anbu member.

Did the Anbu member have time to inform Minato, a Genin, but not enough time to save people? Was the Anbu member’s mind flawed, or was he following someone’s instructions? How many people in the Konoha could command the Anbu?

“Damn it!”

After listening, Tsunade cursed angrily. She wished she could immediately go to the Hokage building and find out who was behind this.

“Kushina, I’ll take you home first.” After sending Kushina home, she would go and confront those old bastards.

“Tsunade, will Cain come back?”

Kushina asked anxiously. She had sensed that Cain’s mood had changed, and if he didn’t return to the Konoha, she would lose her only close friend.

“He will definitely come back. You don’t have to worry about it.”

After sending Kushina home, Tsunade ran into Orochimaru on her way to the Hokage building.

“Orochimaru, what are you doing here?”

Orochimaru smiled and said, “Because you suddenly left in the middle of our work, and the old man asked me to wait for you here, so I came.”

“Is it really related to them?”

Upon hearing this, Tsunade’s anger flared up. The Extremis Virus in Cain’s hands was related to Nawaki’s health. What a bunch of bastards!

“Are you trying to stop me?”

“No, Tsunade, I’m on your side. If you need me, I can go with you to see the old man.”

Orochimaru quickly waved his hand, not wanting to face Tsunade’s wrath. His soft body modification technique was still just an idea and not yet complete.

“I just hope you’ll let me participate in the experimental research. I’m also very curious about what you mentioned. Besides, Nawaki is my disciple, and I want to help Tsunade.”

Hearing this, Tsunade’s anger subsided slightly, and she agreed to Orochimaru’s request, saying, “Alright, I agree. But first, come with me to the Hokage building!”
