A round, white-haired hamster, so fat to the extent that his limbs could not be seen, had come in.
Bai Chuwei glanced at it before clicking her tongue. “Snowball, I thought you wouldn’t be coming back.”
Snowball squeaked in response. “I’ll go wherever you are.”
That white-haired hamster was a pet whom she had casually given pointers to twenty years ago, back in Yunwu Mountain when she had been bored.

Bai Chuwei spoke with contempt in her voice, “Is this the reason that you’re still a dumb hamster despite me taking care of you for twenty years?”
Just then, a mechanical voice surfaced in the depths of her mind.

[Beep-beep-beep, an irreversible malfunction in the system is detected. Self repair function activated, please do not disturb.]
Bai Chuwei was already accustomed to this malfunctioning system and presumed that the repairs would take another few thousand years or so. In anycase, it was useless to her.
Soon, she undressed and threw her clothes into the laundry basket for the maid to wash before she went to take a bath.

After some time, Bai Yinyin entered the room after knocking and placed a phone on the table. She looked at Bai Chuwei and said coldly, “Here you go. I have got the phone for you and already inserted a new sim card inside.”
Bai Chuwei glanced at the phone and noticed some wear and tear around the corners of the handset. She furrowed her brows said. “It’s a used product.”
It was indeed an old phone.
Bai Yinyin got a big shock. She had no idea how Bai Chuwei managed to realize that it was a used phone in just a glance. Her voice turned sharp as she spoke in a mocking tone, “The phone card inside is new. So what if I’ve used the handset before? Has a country pumpkin like you used a fruit XR ever? It’s already your good luck to receive this phone.”
Her grandfather had transferred fifteen thousand yuan to her. Obviously, she would use that money to buy a brand new phone for herself. Someone like Bai Chuwei only deserved to use her old phone.

The housemaid, Auntie Chen shook her head while her voice contained traces of shock. “Miss, have you seen the threads of this clothing? It seems to contain gold threads and the craftsmanship is similar to the gilt brocade. It seems to radiate a faint golden light under natural sunlight. I’ve seen this kind of stuff on TV. A handbag of such craftsmanship costs anywhere between thirty to forty thousand yuan. I believe that a set of clothing like this would be worth nothing less than two hundred thousand yuan!”
