63 Chapter 60 - Hidden Truth

I gone goofed up.

Who freaking knew that almost killing the princess and her guards will escalate the war even further?

"TOUMA!" roared the Demon King.

Stopping time, I ran away from the Maou who chased me while still working on some documents. It was quite impressive the fact he could multitask between various documents and chase me.

'Is he gone?' I looked around.

I sighed in relief yet also in stress. This world was so extremely stupid. How can freaking Vitality or bloodlines of heroes allow people to survive throat slices? It kind of felt like as if something was manipulating behind the scenes (Author: Sorry).

After my great escape, my bounty became even higher and my kidnappers got rescued by priests. Iris, Claire, and Rain were unscathed, but mentally scarred.

"I found him Maou!" yelled Selena.

"You won't get away this time!" the Demon King yelled with red glowing from his eyes.

Selena, the dark priest who worshiped the God of Vengeance, helped out the Demon King. Her power of helping others let her control others, kind of like my magic.

Sadly for the Demon King, unless there was a surprise tactic, I could easily run away as the one with the highest agility stat of the demon generals. He was pretty fast though, as he kept on buffing himself with buffs, but my legs were even faster.

The Demon King currently was pursuing me for the damages I had done. Nobody wanted the war to escalate except the Crimson Demons and the Axis Cult. And because of the crimes I have committed, the Demon King was even more busier than I first met him.

"That's it! Seal!" Chanted the Demon King Uncle.

Feeling danger across the entire castle, I decided to stop time once again and hide from the Demon King for a while.

****

"So... where should I go?" I asked to myself.

Right now, the entire demon population were in search for their general. Hell, the King even sent Beldia, Hans, and Vanir to find me. They all were pretty weak in my opinion, but only Vanir made me shiver a little with his chuunibyou powers.

"There's so many options... I could go to different countries, Elroad again, Alcanretia, Axel, or the Crimson Magic Clan Village." I muttered.

The closest place I could go for now that even the Demon King doesn't dare to mess around was the Crimson Magic Clan Village. The village where basically chuunibyous were made with the power to spam overpowered spells, I was kind of excited.

"Well... I bet it's not going to be as good as I expected."

I was right.

The moment I entered the village, a bunch of the Crimson Magic Clan members surround me. They were all chuuni at this moment, but there was one thing that caught my attention.

"Your village's fortune teller needs me?" I asked.

"There's evil lurking around these woods! Run away to the village before they come at you!" a guy posed and shouted.

Everyone else agreed with him and made weird poses like him. It wasn't that unfamiliar though, since I remember Kazuma's past of being chuuni in front of his computer.

"I'll get going then. Have fun." I exclaimed tiredly.

As I walked past them, I yawned. Seeing this, they all went in shock and some were even depressed.

"So who's the fortune teller either ways?" I asked annoyed.

"Our clan's most beautiful girl in the village, Soketto of the Crimson Demons!" a shoemaker told me.

I didn't know why, but I could feel a NEET'sh aura coming off him.

"Hey, by any chance, are you a NEET?" I asked.

"..."

Chanting Light of Reflection on himself, he disappeared away. I was kinda in shock. Then, a girl came up to me and patted my shoulder.

"Our Clan's best shoemaker Bukkororii is in love with Soketto," she said with pity.

I stared listlessly, "Who's Soketto?"

*****

After asking multiple questions, but not being answered, I was being dragged to the town's fortune teller. Waiting for me was probably the most beautiful Crimson Magic Wizard so far.

"I've been waiting for a long while... you... the one who holds destiny," she mutters with her eyes closed.

Sick and tired of this shit, I just smack her on the head and asked why I was needed.

"Ite... We asked you, the one with invisible fate to ask about your connection to us."

"Connection? This is my first time being here though?" I told.

"My magic isn't limited to just divining and some flashy attacks, I can also see things related to karma, and we owe you a ton," was her answer.

While Soketto was recovering from the smack and Bukkorori watched from a far, I was thinking about my past life. I knew it inside me, but it was hidden and also unknown.

"Sorry, what you owe to was my previous life. According to some gods, I used to have a previous identity called Zhong Yuan," I explained.

"Zhong Yuan? Who's Zhong Yuan?" Soketto asked.

I was surprised. Could it not be Zhong Yuan? Isn't he my only life incarnation?

"Tell me, can your magic see my past?" I asked.

"I can! However, it comes with a great cost-! Ahhh! Don't steal my crystal ball!"

After some threatening, I managed to make us see. Wanting no one to be part of this, I shooed off everyone except me and Soketto. Of course, Bokkorori was immensely angry and jealous.

Soketto activated her class' special skill Fate Reading. Go past my soul's archive, she could see whatever she wanted to. Transmitted on her crystal ball, all I saw was a child carrying a backpack dressed in a uniform.

"Hey... I think your skill messed up," I said.

"What! A Crimson Magic Clan's magic never fails! It's impossible" she says in surprise.

"Cause look, he's staring at us..." I pointed.

The boy was supposed to be going to school, but he stopped to just stare at us. It felt creepy and weird.

"You're right... Something is wrong..." Soketto agrees.

The boy started walking towards us, but he couldn't come close.

"He's running! He's freaking running to us!" I exclaimed.

"AHHhh! I'm not ready!" Soketto screams.

No matter what the child did, he couldn't come near us. So instead, he was waving and smiling at us.

"Soketto... do you recognize him... Tell me now and lets end this," I asked while sweating.

"Yes, I recognize him," she says.

"Then end it!"

After stopping her unique skill, I felt exhausted. Was there something behind me that I didn't know off?

"Soketto, tell me. Who was that boy?" I asked.

"He's in children's book and all, the first King."

"First King? He's a boy for god's sake. How is that possible?"

"Long ago, before gods existed, there used to be one single god. He was called the Emperor God and the boy was his messenger. Apparently, the God made different worlds and the boy went around creating civilization and life."

"Emperor God and his messenger? What does this have to do with me?"

"I don't know, but in one night, the God disappeared and so did the boy. Traces of the boy was found, but not the God," Soketto answered my question in a serious manner.
