CH 9

Bang-! Kyle pushed open the door as if he would break it, and strode inside her room.

“Marriage?”

Siella hurriedly got up and draped a gown over her night gown as she was just about to lie in bed and prepare to sleep. In an instant, Kyle had approached Siella and squeezed her shoulder. The situation didn’t spare Siella the time to escape.

Kyle gnashed his teeth with a ferocious look. “Marriage?”

“Kyle.”

“Marriage?”

“…”

Asking her again and again, Kyle stared at Siella’s face. His red eyes were filled with horrifying murderous intent that gave her goosebumps.

“What’s worse than that, you’re marrying some kind of crazy perverted old man?”

Due to the shock, Siella pressed down her hands on her chest against her madly beating heart. But her timidness had reached its limit and her heart had seldom calmed down easily.

Was it because Kyle’s face was only at less than a hand’s span away? Siella took a long breath and pressed her hand against Kyle’s chest with one hand, acting as if there was nothing wrong with her. But as usual, Kyle never backed down as Siella wished.

“Are you really going to get married?” Grinding his teeth, Kyle put his face even closer and asked her. “Hmm? I’m asking you if you’re really going to get married.”

Siella ducked her head to the side to avoid Kyle’s face, which was so close she could even feel his breath. Seeing that, Kyle became more ferocious, and perhaps it was a very natural sequence of happenings.

“Hey, I’m asking you. Answer me.” Kyle’s hand gripped Siella’s chin, forcing her to look back to him. “Hah, where are you looking at right now? I am talking to you….” Forcibly making Siella look at him, Kyle said, “Look at me straight to the eye and answer me.”

Kyle looked up at Kyle with a disgusted expression.

“Will you keep silent?”

“What about it?”

Kyle’s red eyes widened at Siella’s insincere words.

“… What did you just say?”

“What are you going to do to me about that?” In a nonchalant voice, Siella told Kyle, who was still standing still, “It was all because of your mother.”

“…”

Speechless at her words, Kyle’s ferocious aura dampened in an instant.

“Do you think it would do me good to marry someone like that?”

Siella pushed Kyle as hard as she could once more and let out a laugh with a dumbfounded expression. Unlike before, she easily pushed Kyle away and he took a couple of steps away from her.

“You might want to stop your mother if you really hate to see me marrying Count Shedland.”

“Haa….”

“Kyle, this is your mother’s doing.”

“I am innocent so don’t do this to me. Go to your mother and get angry if you are angry.”

Having said that, Siella absentmindedly walked past the stiff Kyle. She shot him with those words, but she became afraid as it was obvious what Kyle’s next reaction would be. Siella intended to get away before Kyle could come back to his senses.

“Hey, where are you going?” But then, her hair had been caught by his large hand when he suddenly stretched it from behind her. “Didn’t you hear me? I asked you, but why aren’t you answering? I said, where are you going?”

In that moment, great pain swept through her body like a large tidal wave.

“You must think I’m funny.”

“Ah!”

Kyle forced Siella to look into his eyes when she let out a loud scream. Siella managed to swallow her screams when she met Kyle’s violent grin.

“Don’t you? You thought I was being funny and treating me carelessly, right?”

“… Let go.”

Grinning and showing his teeth, he gazed intently at Siella with blazing eyes. in those red eyes, Siella could see her ghastly white face, full of fright.

“Let go, Kyle!”

“Hmm, should I?”

Kyle raised the corners of his mouth even higher and gave her a brighter smile. Siella sensed the danger as soon as she saw that face and was about to shake off Kyle’s hand.

“Alright then. I will do whatever you want.”

“…”

“You know I listen to you very~ well.”

Kyle roughly tossed Siella away as he let go of her hair. At that moment, Siella’s vision seemed to change, and her body flew away before landing somewhere. At the same time, her head hit something hard. She lost consciousness just like that.

It was a long time after when Siella opened her eyes again.

“Are you awake?”

As soon as Siella lifted her heavy eyelids, the first thing she saw in her field of vision was Kyle’s pitiful face. Siella realized that she was already lying neatly on her bed, so she tightly closed her eyes. The most frustrating thing about it was she saw Kyle’s face first thing as soon as she opened her eyes.

“… Siella.” Not wanting to look at him, Kyle spoke in a pitiful voice when he saw Siella not opening her eyes again. “Are you upset with me?”

Hah, upset with you? Are you asking me if I am upset with you right now?!

Kyle didn’t care at all when he saw the clear ridicule on her face. Taking one of Siella’s hand and placing it on his cheeks, Kyle said, “You know I didn’t do it on purpose.”

Siella gritted her teeth, wanting to lose consciousness again.

“You know I can’t hurt you, right?”

“…”

“Don’t be upset.”

… I want to kill you. Siella kept repeating those words in her head that she could never say with her mouth.

(T/N: If only I had the power to punish these kinds of people, I already punished them a long time ago. Obsession paired with violence was never a good thing in this world.)

“Ah… oh, are you awake now?”

Siella blankly blinked her eyes. Then the child, who was peering at her face, let out a small sigh and muttered to himself.

“All is good now….”

Edwin Louis Nocturm. The noble child of Nocturm who had safely returned to the family after eight years, was in front of her.

Siella looked around with bewildered eyes. She then realized that she was lying inside a familiar bedroom. It was only natural, as this was the bedroom Siella had used until recently and vacated for Edwin.

“Why am I here….”

The moment she opened her mouth, Siella frowned when she felt a sharp headache as if someone was viciously stabbing her head.

Looking at Siella with a worried look in his eyes, Edwin answered, “I found you lying on the hallway outside. But I didn’t know what to do… so I could only bring noona here and called the doctor.”

Ah. The person who had never come no matter how many times I called him whenever I was sick.

Siella blankly looked up at the ceiling as she recalled the face of the Duke’s young doctor in her mind. Then Edwin, who had been quietly watching Siella, opened his mouth again.

“Mal… mal? Malnurition?”

“Malnutrition.”

“Ah, yes, malnutrition! He said it was malnutrition!”

Malnutrition, Edwin muttered to himself over and over again. It was as if he was making sure he learned the new word.

“Malnutrition….”

And following after Siella saying ‘malnutrition’ softly, Edwin soon looked back with a light smile.

After she learned that the letter came from Kyle, she ran towards Eschert’s office with heightened emotions. That was the last memory Siella could recall. She had no idea how or where she had lost consciousness. Nothing came to her mind, as if someone had deliberately cut out that part of her memory. No matter how much she tried her best to recall, she felt like her head would break, and she couldn’t remember anything.

Giving up thinking about it for now, Siella spoke to Edwin. “Thank you, Prince Edwin.”

A hint of red blush appeared on Edwin’s white cheeks at Siella’s words. Looking at him, Siella raised her upper body with a faint smile. She doesn’t want to be indebted to this Young Master anymore.

“Oh? You, you shouldn’t get up!” But Edwin became scared, his face turned pale as he dissuaded Siella. “You can’t get up yet.”

As if he had witnessed something terrifying, Edwin said with a pale face, “The doctor said you might have suffered a comcussion.”

“… What?”

Siella looked at Edwin with an expression wondering what she had heard. However, clueless what the problem was, Edwin spoke again, making eye contact with Siella with a rather resolute expression.

“I said, comcussion.”

(T/N: Edwin is the only cute thing in this chapter, saying ‘malnurition’ instead of ‘malnutrition’, and ‘comcussion’ instead of ‘concussion’.)
